Kaya ilang araw ng wala sa ‘Eat Bulaga’… PAOLO, nagsu-shooting sa Australia kasama sina JIMMY, KAYE at PATRICK

NAGTATANONG na ang mga netizens na nanonood daily ng “Eat Bulaga” ng TAPE, Inc, bakit daw ilang araw nang hindi napapanood sa noontime show si Paulo Contis?

Salamat sa post ng Sparkle Artist Center na kasama ni Paolo si Jimmy Santos, na dating Dabarkads ng “Eat Bulaga,”

Caption ng photo ay, “Paolo Contis is with his co-star Jimmy Santos, in Tasmania, Australia. Catch them on a Mavx movie real soon,”

Nabalitang nasa Canada si Jimmy, so ngayon ba ay balik-acting muli ang komedyante?

Ayon din sa Instagram page ni Paolo, nagsu-shooting sila sa Australia. Bukod kay Jimmy Santos, kasama rin sa shooting sina Kaye Abad at Patrick Garcia, at parang may “Tabing Ilog” reunion, dahil magkakasama sila noon sa dating serye ng ABS-CBN.

Pero wala nang ibang details tungkol sa shooting ng movie sa Australia, maliban sa IG post ni Patrick na nakatapos na sila ng day 8 of shooting.

Ang movie ay produced ng Mavx Productions, the same film studio behind “Unravel” na pinagsamahan nina Kylie Padilla at Gerald Anderson noon at napanood noong Summer Metro Manila Film Festival last April, 2023.

Sila rin ang nag-produce ng “Dollhouse” noon ni Baron Geisler.

SA July 22 na ang GMA Gala 2023, kaya kanya-kanyang nang isip ng gimmick ang mga Kapuso couples na magpapakilig sa pagrampa nila sa red carpet.

Isa nga sa naghanda na ay ang mag-sweetheart na sina Jeric Gonzales at Rabiya Mateo.

Isang airport proposal ang ginawa ni Jeric na ipinakita na niya sa kanyang Instagram ang kabuuang proposal na may caption na, “She said Yes!!! Thank you sa pagpayag na maging date ko on GMA Gala, I love you Rabiya Mateo!”

Isa rin si Klea Pineda na ipinakita sa TikTok ang cute video na sinorpresa niya ang girlfriend na si Katrice Kierulf sa kanyang tanong na: “Will you be my date on July 22 for GMA Gala Ball?” Hindi nabigo si Klea dahil ang nakuha niyang sagot kay Katrice ay “Yes, Baby!”

NAG-POST si KC Concepcion sa kanyang social media, ng bonding moments niya kasama ang amang si Gabby Concecpion at mga little sisters niyang sina Samantha at Savannah.

Mga anak ito ni Gabby sa wife na si Genevieve Yatco Gonzales. Nag-celebrate sila ng birthday ni Savannah sa isang restaurant sa Tagaytay City.

Nag-comment ang mga netizens na humanga sa pagiging mabuting ate ni KC sa mga little sisters niya.

“Parang mas happy and at peace si KC sa father’s side niya,”

Meanwhile, nagsimula na ring mag-taping si Gabby ng teleserye nila ni Marian Rivera, na nag-assure sa kanya na this time, tuluy-tuloy na ang pagtatambal nilang dalawa.

Hindi nga sila natuloy noong una, dahil ipinagbuntis niya noon ang second child nila ni Dingdong, ang three-year old son nilang si Sixto.

Miss na miss nang mag-shooting kasama sina Alden: SHARON, pinagpapahinga ng doctor at bawal munang magsalita

ILANG araw na ngang masama ang pakiramdam ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta kaya natigil muna siya pagsho-shooting ng pelikula nila ni Alden Richards, na pasok nga sa eight entries sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.

Sa Instagram post ni Sharon, pinagpapahinga nga siya ng doktor at hangga’t kaya ay bawal muna siyang magsalita.

Panimula ng post niya, “Went to my doctor in St. Luke’s BGC yesterday. She inserted a camera into my nose and mouth. Sobrang clogged daw ang ilong ko and my throat is so swollen and papunta nang infection kaya ang dami kong gamot ngayon.

“Nasanay na lang daw ako sa feeling ng barado ang ilong at masama ang lagay ng throat kaya di ko na narerealize pag ganon (!). Haaaay…Kasi init/ulan lagi sa shooting namin.”

Pagkukuwento pa niya, “Before my guesting sa e.a.t. TVJ, weird na ang throat ko at naapektuhan na at sinabi ko na sa shooting yon isang gabi. Kaya pala wala akong boses sa e.a.t. nung nirequest doon na kantahin ko bigla ang part ng “Bituing Walang Ningning…” Dapat pala hiningi ko magbalot ng boses!”

“Sinabi ng doc ko kailangan ko daw i-rest ang voice ko ng one week… Bukod daw sa fatigue, stress-induced daw. Kaya isang malaking “tenk yu” sa mga nagbibigay sa akin ng stress pinasa-Dios ko na kayo! May acid reflux pa ako susmaryosep…

“Haaaay naman miss na miss ko na ang set namin at mga kasama ko doon mula kay Direk Nuel @directfromncn hanggang kay @jackielou.blanco at siempre ang anak kong mahal na mahal ko at mahal na mahal ako! @aldenrichards02”

Bago ang naturang health update ni Sharon sa kanyang IG account, naibahagi niya ang screenshot ng pag-uusapan nila ni Alden, na sobrang nag-alala sa kanyang kalusugan.

Say ni Sharon na sobrang na-touch sa mensahe ng Kapuso actor, “Asked Alden if I could post this. Only because am so touched (and proud) of the way he loves his new Mama!

“He is really so sweet and mabait. What a blessing my Alden is to me and all of us on our set! I went to shooting the other day even if I woke up not feeling well, but after one scene with @jackielou.blanco and lunch, umuwi na ako kasi she and Direk Nuel didn’t want me na to push it at halos sign language na kami noon!

“Been resting and now hoping to see my doc tomorrow. I miss shooting and my “A Mother and Son’s Story” family so much! @aldenrichards02 @directfromncn.”

Ilan naman sa malalapit kay Sharon ang nagpahatid ng mensahe ng pagmamahal at panalangin ng mabilis na paggaling tulad nina Judy Ann Santos, Ara Mina, Vina Morales, Jackie Lou Blanco, Anthony Pangilinan, Beth Tamayo, Direk Nuel at marami pang iba.

Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz Team Up for GMA Public Affairs’ Film Debut, ‘The Cheating Game’

THEY say when you get cheated once, ‘poor you.’ You get cheated on again, ‘shame on you.’ In a world where love is a gamble, how far are you willing to play the cheating game?

This July 26, brace yourselves as GMA Public Affairs proudly presents its first-ever film offering, “The Cheating Game,” featuring two of the country’s highly talented artists Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz.

A feverish, deep-dive into the psyche of two individuals who react differently to betrayal, ‘The Cheating Game’ is a romantic drama about the game people play after getting cheated on. It shows a more mature, relatable, and realistic side to modern-day dating.

The film follows the story of Hope (Julie), an idealistic young professional who thinks she can change the world and that she knows everything. Hope is devoted to her fiance and the non-governmental organization (NGO) they’ve built together. Until a sex video of her boyfriend with another woman surfaces.

Heartbroken, Hope walks away from the engagement, the NGO, and the life she thought was hers. She starts her new career as a content producer in a company that, unknown to her, moonlights as a troll factory. Determined to never be outsmarted by a guy again, she designs a ‘cheat sheet’ detailing the ‘anatomy of a cheater’ and uses this as her guide as she navigates her way around the dating world.

She then meets Miguel (Rayver), a self-made businessman who exudes green flags for a partner. Hope seems to have found the perfect guy. But as they become closer, long-kept secrets begin to surface.

Julie and Rayver, fondly called ‘JulieVer,’ are happy that finally their first movie will be shown on the big screen.

“We started shooting it before the pandemic, we shot some scenes in the province then tinuloy lang namin this year. Ang surreal pa rin kasi napakabilis talaga ng panahon,” shares Julie. “I’m very excited and grateful. May panibagong family, may new set of characters, new set of people to work with, a great production team. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. We had a healthy working environment.”

She adds that she welcomes the thought of working with Rayver again but this time around, for a movie.

“Kasi usually nakikita kami ng mga tao sa The Clash, All-Out Sunday, sa performances, ghosting. This time as actors naman kami rito. Excited din ako to work with Martin, Winwyn, along with the rest of the cast. It’s a breath of fresh air. I’m very excited to show everyone what we did,” she adds.

Rayver echoes Julie’s sentiments.

“Halo-halo ‘yung emosyon na nararamdaman ko pero mas lamang ‘yung excitement kasi makikita na ng tao yung pelikulang ginawa namin at talagang pinaganda namin ito nang husto. Very proud ako sa movie na ito especially first project namin ito ni Julie together na isang movie. Sa wakas, makikita na namin sa big screen,” he says.

He adds that the year 2023 has been very good to him so far. “I’m very thankful and blessed na mapabilang sa napakagandang project at napakagaling na artistang kasama namin dito. Thank you sa GMA Public Affairs and GMA Pictures, kasi nga first nila ire-release ito at napabilang kami sa cast. It has been a very wonderful JulieVer year for us kasi nga sunod-sunod ‘yung trabaho.”

Viewers are definitely in for a different JulieVer in ‘The Cheating Game.’

“If you watch this film, lahat ng kinds, elements ng cheating andito. Marami akong natutunan sa buong production, sa story. This is far different from what I did with Maria Clara at Ibarra. So ibang Julie naman ang makikita ninyo rito. Mas daring, bolder, stronger. I feel like I had to take a leap of faith just like the rest of the cast,” shares Julie. “For me, cheating is non-negotiable. Once it’s done, it’s done. But my major takeaway from this film is to forgive yourself.”

Rayver said he welcomed playing Miguel. “I enjoyed making the movie kasi doing it is a learning experience for me para maging aware ka how to handle being cheated. Lahat naman tayo, nabubulag kapag nagmahal tayo.”

Set to spice up the plot is a mix of young and veteran cast that includes Martin Del Rosario as Brian Villogo; Winwyn Marquez as Vanessa; Yayo Aguila as Faith Celestial; Candy Pangilinan as Tita Gelly; Phi Palmos as Joi Celestial; Thea Tolentino as Natalie; and Paolo Contis as Mister Y.

The film also features Charm Aranton, Chef Jose Sarasola, Charlize Ruth Reyes, Rocelyn Ordoñez, Aaron Maniego, Andrea So, Ida Sabido, Evan Tan, Roi Oriondo, Bernadette Anne Morales, Felds Cabagting, and Iman Manoguid.

The excitement for JulieVer’s first team-up on the silver screen has been building up since the announcement of their movie project. The film’s teaser has already amassed more than 2 million views just a few days after it was released, while its full trailer, which was launched last July 11, has been getting raves from the public for its edgy scenes and snappy lines.

Produced by GMA Public Affairs under GMA Pictures, “The Cheating Game” is co-written and directed by best-selling author Rod Marmol, who is known for his works “Cuddle Weather,” “Mata Tapang,” and “Quaranthings,” among others. The film is based on the original concept and story by Peabody award-winning documentary writer and producer Shao Masula, and co-written by Jessie Villabrille, who is a head writer for some of the distinguished GMA primetime series.

“The Cheating Game” is GMA Public Affairs’ first offering on the big screen. Also included in its line-up of films are the fantasy drama ‘Firefly,’ the horror movie ‘Penthouse 77’, the science fiction romance ‘Version 2,’ as well as the 4K documentary film ‘The Lost Sabungeros.’

Alfred, tinanghal na ‘Darling of the Press’… HELEN at Direk CHITO, naging emosyonal sa pagtanggap ng kanilang special award

MANINGING at matagumpay ang 38th Star Awards for Movies ng The Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC) na ginanap nitong Linggo, Hulyo 16, 2023, sa Centennial Hall ng Manila Hotel, na kung saan nagsilbing hosts ng gabi ng parangal na nagwagi rin ng special awards sina Claudine Barretto, Sunshine Cruz, Alfred Vargas, at Christian Bautista.

Marami sa mga nagwagi ang naging emosyonal at hindi napigilang mapaiyak sa pagtanggap ng kani-kanilang award.

Emosyonal nga ang special awardees na sina Ms. Helen Gamboa at Direk Chito Roño. Ang anak ni Helen na si MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto ay kasama ng PMPC present and past presidents sa pagbibigay sa veteran actress ng Nora Aunor Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award.

Napaiyak naman si Direk Chito sa sorpresang pagdalo ng kanyang mga alagang Streetboys na kinabibilangan nina Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Danilo Barrios, Meynard Marcellano, Joey Andres, Christopher Cruz, at Nicko Manalo upang igawad sa kanya ang kauna-unahan niyang lifetime achievement award na Ulirang Alagad Ng Pelikula Sa Likod Ng Kamera. Ayon kay Direk, bihira kasing mabuo at mapagsama sa event ang Streetboys kaya labis niya itong ikinatuwa.

Humakot ng major awards ang pelikulang “Katips” sa pangunguna ng Indie Movie of the Year at Indie Movie Director of the Year para kay Vince Tañada na itinanghal din na Movie Actor of the Year.

Ang “Katips” din ang nakakuha ng Indie Movie Ensemble Acting of the Year pati na ang Indie Movie Musical Scorer of the Year para kay Pipo Cifra.

Marami rin ang naiuwing parangal ng “On The Job 2: The Missing 8” kabilang na ang Movie of the Year, Movie Director of the Year para kay Erik Matti, Movie Supporting Actress of the Year para kay Lotlot de Leon (ka-tie si Janice de Belen para sa “Big Night!”), Movie Ensemble Acting of the Year para sa buong cast, Movie Screenwriter of the Year (Michiko Yamamoto), at Movie Sound Engineer of the Year (Corinne De San Jose).

MANINGING at matagumpay ang 38th Star Awards for Movies ng The Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc. (PMPC) na ginanap nitong Linggo, Hulyo 16, 2023, sa Centennial Hall ng Manila Hotel.

Nakipag-sanib-pwersa ngayong taon ang PMPC sa Gutierez Celebrities & Media Production na pinamumunuan ni MJ Gutierez para ihatid ang modern Filipiniana theme ng naturang awards night.

Kaya naman nakatutuwang pagmasdan ang pagrampa sa red carpet ng celebrities at guests suot ang kanilang magarbong barong at Filipiniana gowns sa pangunguna ng hosts ng gabi ng parangal na nagwagi rin ng special awards – Claudine Barretto, Sunshine Cruz, Alfred Vargas, at Christian Bautista.

Marami sa mga nagwagi ang naging emosyonal at hindi napigilang mapaiyak sa pagtanggap ng kanilang award gaya na lang ni Sunshine Dizon na itinanghal na Movie Actress of the Year para sa pelikulang “Versus.” Naka-tie niya sa award si Charo Santos-Concio para sa “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon.”

Si Vince Tañada naman ang itinanghal na Movie Actor of the Year habang ang co-actor niya sa “Katips” na si Johnrey Rivas ang nagwaging Movie Supporting Actor of the Year.

WISH pala ni Jessy Mendiola, sa muling pagbabalik-acting niya ay makasama niya ang Kapuso Royal Couple na sina Dingdong Dantes at Marian Rivera. Biro pa niya “kahit maging PA (personal assistant) lamang nila, payag ako.” Nasabi ito ni Jessy sa interview niya sa grand opening ng Manila Diamond Studio na siya ang celebrity endorser.

Pwede nga raw silang gumanap na magkapatid ni Marian sa isang project, dahil pareho silang mestiza. Natuwa si Jessy at dagdag pa niya, kahit alalay lang siya ni Marian, tatanggapin niya.

“Hanga ako talaga sa kanya at sa family niya, pina-follow ko sila sa social media and I look up to her,” sabi pa ni Jessy.

“Natutuwa ako sa pag-aalaga niya sa mga anak niya, she’s a hands-on mom. I also think she’s a good actress, ‘di ba she’s a queen, kaya gusto kong maranasang makatrabaho siya.

“Kaya sa mga Kapuso actors, gusto ko ring makatrabaho ang husband niyang si Dingdong Dantes. Minsan ko nang na-meet si Dingdong and he’s so kind kaya sana one day ay makatrabaho ko rin siya.”

Very soon ay malamang magbalik-acting na rin si Jessy, naipangako rin kasi niya noon na gusto muna niyang tutukan ang paglaki ng anak nila ni Luis Manzano na si Isabella Rose.

NAGKAGULATAN ang dating magkasama sa Kapuso Network na sina Barbie Forteza at Bea Binene, nang minsang nagkita sila in an unplanned salon encounter.

On Instagram, nag-post si Bea ng photo nila ni Barbie with a caption na “sa Posh Nails lang pala tayo magkikita, nice seeing you, Barbs! Na-miss kitaaa!!! See you again soon, pls!”

Sinagot naman ito ni Barbie ng “Yes, pagbalik mo ha!”

Nag-comment naman ang mga fans nila na na-miss daw nilang mapanood ang dalawa sa isang drama, dahil ang tagal na rin nung huling nagkasama sila sa isang serye sa GMA Network.

Sa ngayon kasi, si Bea ay under na ng Viva Films, matapos na hindi na siya nag-renew ng contract sa GMA Network noong time ng pandemic. Sa ngayon ay nagsimula nang mag-taping si Barbie ng new GMA series nila ni David, ang remake ng pelikulang “Maging Sino Ka Man” na unang ginawa noon nina Megastar Sharon Cuneta at Robin Padilla. Earlier this month, Barbie made waves online after her “It’s Showtime” appearance na nagsayaw sila ng “It’s Showtime” host na si Kim Chiu.

Si Bea naman, bukod sa kanyang acting career, paminsan-minsan kung free siya sa work, she serves as a barista in her Nueva Ecija café.

Kasama ang magandang larawan ng asawa, “With immense gratitude to God, the Vargas family is elated to share that my Amore, @yasmine_vargas2307 is now 13 weeks pregnant with our fourth child! ❤️😊🙏🏽

“God has blessed me with a wonderful life. This is mainly because He has not only given me a beautiful wife, inside and out, but a brave one as well. Yasmine is truly a fighter.”

“It’s her 4th pregnancy suffering with Hyperemesis Gravidarum all day with severe nausea and vomiting.

“She can’t even drink water nang hindi nagsusuka after. She lost several kgs in the first 3 weeks.

“This is her 2nd pregnancy with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). And she experiences relentless anxiety and panic attacks (without any triggers).

“Bedrest siya buong first trimester. She even had mulitple days with IV just to get enough vitamins and treatment.

“We are hoping that things will get better each day that passes. So far, with God’s grace and the reliable support system that we have (doctors, experts, friends and family), Yasmine is able to steadfastly beat every challenge that arrives.”

Kaya naman humingi siyan na ipagdasal ang kanyang asawa at magiging anak.

“We humbly ask for your prayers for Yasmine’s and our little baby’s great perfect health and well-being.

“We’re also counting on your support and understanding on this journey of ours as we welcome the newest member of the family this coming January.

PUMANAW na ang actor-director na si Ricky Rivero sa edad na 51.

In-announce ang pagpanaw ng former ‘That’s Entertainment’ star teen star sa kanyang official Facebook nitong Sunday, July 16.

“Wala na po si Ricky S. Rivero namayapa na po. Maraming salamat sa walang sawang tulong sa asawa ko,” post nb partner ni Ricky.

Noong nakaraang May ay tinakbo sa ospital si Ricky dahil sa stroke. Matagal na na-confine si Ricky at bumuhos ang tulong pinansyal mula sa kanyang mga kaibigan at katrabaho sa showbiz.

Bumuti rin ang kalagayan ng aktor pero hindi na siya nakabalik sa kanyang trabaho bilang direktor.

Nagpaabot ng kanyang pakikiramay si former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista sa kanyang social media account. Nakatrabaho ni Bautista si Rivero sa unang pelikula nito na Ninja Kids noong 1986.
