NAKATAKDANG muling buksan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang Philippine Sports Library sa bansa sa misyon ng ahensiya na mapalawak at mapaangat pa ang edukasyon sa tulong ng mga programa ng Philippine Sports Institute matapos ang Covid-19.

Inihayag ni PSC Chairman William Ramirez, na pangunahing asam ng silid-aklatan na makapatuklas ng scholar athletes at sports scholars habang tampok din ang pagbibigay ng mga makukulay na kasaysayan at impormasyon sa sports-related literature, dokumentaryo at sports development.

“We aim for the rebirth of the Philippine Sports Library so we can cater to our scholars, athletes, sports professionals and enthusiasts who may be needing information resources in the field of sports right at the heart of the city,” saad nitong kamakalawa ng opisyal na isang professor at naging coach din sa Davao City.

Ang library nasa 4th floor ng Building A sa PhilSports Complex sa Pasig City. Pero dahil sa patuloy na situwasyon na general community quarantine pansamantalang isinarado ang pasilidad sapul noong Marso.

Idinagdag naman ni PSI Program Head Abigail Marie Rivera na bibili ang PSC at PSI ng mahigit na 3,000 physical book titles para sa mga Physical Education students, faculty at academic researchers.

“We aim to submit these for approval before December. We are working on finalizing the library’s operations manual and preparing our midterm plan for this facility,” namutawi sa kanya. (REC)
