20M doses ng Covid- 19 vaccine, makukuha sa second quarter ng taon

MAY makukuha pang mahigit na 20 million doses ng COVID-19 vaccines ang Pilipinas sa second quarter ng 2021.

Sa public address ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Lunes ng gabi ay sinabi ni vaccine czar and National Task Force against COVID-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., na ito’y sa pagitan ng buwan ng Abril, Mayo o Hunyo.

Bagama’t hindi naman niya idinetalye ang bilang ng doses para sa kada brand ng bakuna ay sinabi ni Sec. Galvez na ang 20 million doses ay manggagaling mula sa Sinovac BioTech, World Health Organization-led COVAX facility, Novovax, at AstraZeneca.

“So kung June — June – July, kung sa second quarter, we expect na mayroon tayong ano, sir, nandiyan ang Sinovac at saka ‘yong nandiyan din po ‘yong COVAX at saka iyong Novavax. And then also ‘yong ano sir sa May – June, baka dumating na rin po ‘yong AstraZeneca. Mayroon pong order ang ano ang private sector na 2.6 million.

So nakita natin baka humigit tayo ng mga ano mga 20 million po ang ating makukuha between ano — between the ano April, May, June po, sir, iyong ano ‘yong second quarter po,” ang pahayag ni Sec.Galvez.

Sa ulat, lumagda ang pamahalaan at ang private sector ng isang kasunduan noong Nobyembre ng nakalipas na taon nagsasaad na bibili ng bakuna sa AstraZeneca.

Target naman ng pamahalaan na sa “second quarter” ng kasalukuyang taon ay nabakunahan na ang lahat ng economic frontliners. (Daris Jose)

IN time for International Women’s Day, it is Wonder Woman turn to shine, with the latest teaser and poster dedicated to her journey in the upcoming director’s cut.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League unites Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) to save the world from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid.

The abbreviated trailer, which premiered on director Zack Snyder‘s Twitter, is a more emotional watch than expected, however, when you recall that the plot of the original Justice League movie involved Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and his army carrying out a siege against the Amazons on Themyscira in order to secure one of his precious Mother Boxes.

Voiceovers from familiar characters such as Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and Steppenwolf himself are sobering reminders of the fact that for Wonder Woman, part of this fight is definitely personal. The good news, however, is that Diana will have powerful allies in the Justice League to take on this threat.

The highly anticipated director’s cut has a runtime of 242 minutes, so expect a lot of additional scenes and characters that were not in the original 2017 film.

The digital release will be split into chapters, which are:

Chapter 2: The Age of Heroes
Chapter 3: Beloved Mother, Beloved Son
Chapter 4: Change Machine

DILG sa LGUs: Higpitan ang health protocols vs COVID-19

Inatasan ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga local government units (LGUs) na higit pang paghusayin ang kanilang mga ordinansa upang matiyak na patuloy na naoobserbahan ng mga mamamayan ang health protocols upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng nakamamatay na COVID-19.

Ayon kay DILG Officer-In-Charge at Undersecretary Bernardo Florece Jr., pagod na pagod na ang mga tao at maging ang mga law enforcers sa mga umiiral na restriksiyon, lalo na ngayong malapit nang umabot ng isang taon ang pagpapairal nito.

“Totoo ‘yun kasi sa March 16, one year na tayo exactly. Kasi March 16 tayo last year nag-declare ng lockdown sa Luzon. Kumbaga exhausted na rin ang mga tao pati na rin ‘yung ating mga law enforcers,” wika niya.

Kamakailan lamang ay nagpasya na ang pamahalaan na paluwagin o tuluyang alisin ang ilang health protocols at requirements upang unti-unti nang maibangon ang nalugmok na ekonomiya ng bansa dahil sa COVID-19.

Hindi na kinakailangan ng mga biyahero na sumailalim sa COVID-19 testing maliban na lamang kung ire-require sila ng LGU bago ang kanilang pagbiyahe. Tanging RT-PCR test lamang din ang pinapayagan.

Obiena kumpiyansa sa tsansa sa Olympic gold

Habang lumalapit ang mga araw para sa 2021 Olympic Games sa Tokyo, Japan ay pataas nang pataas ang kumpiyansa ni national pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena.

“I think that I have the best chances than all that I have had all throughout the years,” sabi ng 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist sa kanyang pagtarget sa kauna-unahang gintong medalya ng Pilipinas sa Olympics.

Bukod kay Obiena, ang tatlo pang Pinoy athletes na mayroon nang tiket para sa 2021 Olympics ay sina gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo at boxers Eumir Felix Marcial at Irish Magno.

Bilang preparasyon sa 2021 Tokyo Olympics, idaraos sa Hulyo 23 hanggang Agosto 8, ay ilang malalaking pole vault competitions ang sinabakan ng 6-foot-2 na si Obiena.

Nilundag ni Obiena ang gold medal sa Internationales Stadionfest Indoors sa Berlin, Germany mula sa kanyang 5.80-metro para ilista ang bagong Philippine indoor record.

2021 All-Star Game: Giannis top pick sa Team LeBron; Durant, kinuha si Irving

Buo na ang Team LeBron James at Team Kevin Durant para sa 2021 NBA All-Star Game.

Nasa lineup ni James ang kanyang first overall pick na si Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, maging ang dati nitong karibal na si Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

Kabilang din sa koponan ni LeBron sina Luka Doncic ng Dallas Mavericks, at Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic.

Sa koponan naman ni Durant, babandera ang teammate nito sa Nets na si Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid ng Sixers, Kawhi Leonard ng Clippers, Bradley Beal ng Wizards at Jayson Tatum ng Celtics.

Si Durant ay magiging non-playing team captain.

Kumumpleto naman sa mga reserba ang dalawang players ng Jazz na sina Rudy Gobert na napunta kay James; at si Donovan Mitchell na kinuha ni Durant.

Ang mga reserves sa Team LeBron ay sina Damian Lillard, Ben Simmons, Chris Paul, Jaylen Brown, Paul George, Domantas Sabonis, at Gobert.

Reserves naman sa Team Durant sina James Harden, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, Zach LaVine, Julius Randle, Nikola Vucevic, at Mitchell.

JOHN, overwhelmed dahil nakasama sa cast ng movie ni NORA; approachable at sobrang bait ng Superstar

OVERWHELMED ang newbie singer na si John Gabriel dahil nakasama siya sa cast ng Kontrabida, ang bagong movie ni Superstar Nora Aunor.

Sobrang saya at kabado raw siya nang malaman na kasali siya sa movie. Sino ba raw naman ang di kakabahan sa oportunidad na makasama ang isang superstar at multi-awarded actress?

Noong gabi raw na nalaman niya na kasali siya sa movie eh super practice si John ng acting kahit wala pang script.

“Sobrang kinabahan po ako bago kunan ang eksena namin ni Ate Guy. Isa lang po ako baguhan sa showbiz tapos makakatrabaho ko po ang nag-iisang Superstar. Sobrang tuwa po ako sa privilege na makasama ako sa Kontrabida,” pahayag ni John.

Kwento ni John, bago raw kunan ang eksena nila ni Nora ay sobrang bait sa kanya ng aktres. Sa rehearsal pa lang daw ay nakikita na niya kung gaano kagaling si Ate Guy kasi umaarte na raw ang mga mata nito kahit rehearsal pa lang sila.

“Grabe! Para pong nagsasalita ang mga mata ni Ate Guy sa rehearsal pa lang. Pagkatapos po ng take ay sobrang natuwa ako kasi nagawa ko po nang maayos ang ibinigay sa akin na role,” sabi pa ni John.

Kahit pack-up na sila ay sobrang magiliw pa rin sa kanya ni Ate Guy. Approachable daw ito at mabait.

Ano ba ang role mo sa Kontrabida?

“Kapitbahay po ako ni Ms. Nora Aunor na sobrang matulungin sa kanya. Sa tuwing makikita ko po siya ay lagi kong siyang tinutulungan. Parang anak-anakan ako ni Ms. Nora Aunor sa movie.”

Dream come true para kay John Gabriel na makatrabaho si Ate Guy. And given another chance, gusto niya muling makasama sa isang project ang People’s National Artist.

IMPRESSED ang director ng Gen-Z na si Joy Aquino kay Kent Gonzales, ang newbie actor na lumabas na anak ni Sharon Cuneta sa Kwaresma.

“The first time I saw him, I already saw something special in him,” wika ng lady director of Kent, one of the leads of Gen-Z which premiered on TV 5 on Sunday, March 7 at 9 p.m.

“There is something interesting with Kent. He adds something to the character that he he is portraying.”

Bukod kay Kent, kasama rin sa cast ng Gen-Z sina Jerome Ponce, Jane Oineza, Ricci Rivero, Melizza Jimenez, Chie Filomeno, at Darwin Yu. Ang bagong Young Adult series na ito ang inyong bagong makakasama tuwing Linggo ng gabi.

Produced by Cignal Entertainment, Inc. with Regal Entertainment Inc., ang family drama na ito ang magbubukas sa ating isipan kung paano ang younger generation natin sa ngayon ay sumasabay sa takbo ng buhay. Wala pang community transmission ng ‘mas nakakahawang’ COVID-19 variants sa PH

Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na wala pa ring ebidensya ng community transmission o pagkalat sa komunidad ng mga mas nakakahawang variants ng COVID-19 virus na naitala sa bansa.

“Wala tayong confirmed community transmission as of yet. We are still further studying the cases,” ayon kay Health Usec. Maria Vergeire sa isang press briefing.

Bagamat aminado ang opisyal na tumataas ang kaso ng coronavirus sa bansa, iginiit nitong hindi pa pwedeng isisi sa mga variants ang pagsipa ng numero.

Batay sa huling update ng DOH, mayroon nang 118 na kaso ng mas nakakahawang UK variant, at 58 kaso ng isa pang mas nakakahawa at sinasabing may epekto sa bakuna na South African variant.

“Tumataas ang kaso totoo, pero di pwedeng sabihin na variants ang nag-cause solely. Kaya tumataas ang kaso kasi nakakaligtaan nating ayusin at mag-comply sa minimum health standards.”

Ayon sa opisyal, may ilang konsiderasyon para masabing may community transmission na ng coronavirus variants.

“When we say community transmission, kailangan nakikita natin may clustering ng kaso. Doon sa clustering hindi mo na makita yung link ang bawat isang kaso na ‘yan… tapos dito sa community ng nagkakasakit din, hindi mo na ma-link kung saan nakuha yung sakit.”

Nagpaliwanag naman si Vergeire dahil higit 300 samples lang ang isinailalim sa whole genome sequencing noong nakaraang linggo.

Ito’y kahit 750 samples kada linggo ang dapat na pino-proseso ng UP-Philippine Genome Center.

“Yung unang parte ng linggo kaya 300 plus, this was because nakapag-submit tayo ng more than 750 samples. Kaya lang out of it, ang naging katanggap-tanggap lang ay 300 plus lang, kaya ‘yun ang na-run noong batch na ‘yon.”

“And then we did another run last week, a purposive run where we focused on NCR, Region 7, and returning overseas Filipinos, because gusto na natin makita yung extent sa mga lugar na tumataas ang kaso.”

Sa ilalim ng genome sequencing inaalam ang identity at pinagmulan ng virus. Ayon sa DOH, kailangang mababa sa 30 ang cycle threshold (CT) value ng isang positive sample para masailalim sa proseso.

Sa loob ng nakalipas na tatlong araw, higit 3,000 bagong kaso ng COVID-19 ang naitala ng DOH.

Pumalo na sa 594, 412 ang kabuuang bilang ng coronavirus cases sa Pilipinas. (Daris Jose)

KRIS, nag-warning sa mga detractors na patuloy na nambu-bully kina JOSHUA at BIMBY

NAGBIGAY ng warning si Queen of All Media Kris Aquino sa mga detractors niya na kung kinaladkad ang dalawang anak na sina Joshua at Bimby at patuloy na binu-bully online.

Last Sunday, March 7, nag-post si Kris sa kanyang saloobin sa Instagram account in five parts.

Una rito sinabi niya na, “I am not blind, and I am not stupid…. In a span of a week, my children have been used to trigger me. Kuya Josh, with zero factual basis, was said to have impregnated a girl. Bimb has been repeatedly targeted with bullying because people are insisting he is gay.”

Hinamon naman ni Kris ang nagpapakalat ng ‘fake news’ sa anak na panganay na nakabuntis daw at ang pagbu-bully sa socmed kay Bimby.

Sabi ni Kris, “Regarding Kuya Josh, name us and show us the girl. About Bimb, he is 13 years old, i know my son doesn’t identify as being gay, BUT in the event he ever does, he will still be my son. The bullying you are doing is a reflection of your homophobic attitudes that are no longer welcome in 2021.”

Nagsimula nga ang muling pambu-bully kay Bimby dahil sa short video na pinost ni Kris.

“What is very clear to me is that some people cannot stand the fact that despite all their efforts to bury me, I am still standing. And they must be cringing that at a time when our country is hungry and struggling, as a private citizen, I am doing my part with my hard earned money, to share with those in need,” post pa niya.

Sinabi rin ni Kris sa mga nambu-bully na, “You picked the wrong children to harass and bully this mother knows your motives… What does a lioness do when her cubs are threatened? She attacks. Google and see what else she is capable of.

“This isn’t a threat. I am merely stating a fact.”

Pagwa-warning pa ni Kris, “Leave my children alone and I will remain a private citizen. Continue messing with them, then you are pushing me in the direction you are so obviously afraid I will take. That yellow brick road is starting to look very inviting now.”

Nag-agree naman ang netizens na super foul ang ginawang pambu-bully sa kanyang mga anak, na sobrang bastos at walang patawad.

May nag-comment na dapat daw ay hindi na pinost ni Kris ang video dahil tiyak na pagsisimulan ito ang panglalait kay Bimby. Zack Snyder, Unveiled New Character Poster for Ben Affleck’s Batman in ‘JL’

A new poster for Zack Snyder’s Justice League puts the spotlight on Batman’s latest costume.

Director Zack Snyder has finally been granted the opportunity to finish his intended DCEU team-up film, which unites the franchise’s most iconic heroes for an epic battle.

Justice League will premiere on HBO Max on March 18 as a 4-hour movie, as opposed to a series like some initially believed. Snyder recently revealed the chapter titles for this project, the first being “Don’t Count On It, Batman.”

In fact, Snyder has been supplying fans with a great deal of content in the lead-up to Justice League‘s release. Even before his cut of the film was confirmed for release, Snyder shared tidbits about what he had planned, from storyboards to black and white images from the footage itself. In recent weeks, Snyder has shared teasers, posters, and the aforementioned chapter titles.

Additionally, Junkie XL’s highly anticipated score has revealed the main Justice League theme, titled “The Crew at Warpower.”

In addition to a new trailer putting the spotlight on Batman, Snyder has unveiled a brand new character poster for Ben Affleck‘s Caped Crusader. This shows Batman in his full glory, with a complete look at his Justice League costume. It fits in line with that Affleck wore for his previous Snyder outing, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fans are excited to see the new arcs for all members of the Justice League, but there’s an extra level of excitement surrounding Batman. Following Affleck’s departure from the DCEU a few years ago, many have called for him to return in some form, particularly in the solo Batman movie Affleck was once working on. Between Justice League and Affleck’s surprise role in The Flash, there is a renewed hope among those who want to see him step back into the DCEU.

Right now, Affleck’s future with the franchise is unknown beyond The Flash, but Snyder is certainly doing his part to give fans exactly what they want.

Justice League will feature the DCEU’s Joker (Jared Leto) coming face to face with Batman in a scene fans have long wanted to see, and it will further explore the Knightmare timeline teased in Batman v Superman.
