‘Unity’ tema ng 19th Congress

UNITY o pagkakaisa ang magiging tema ng 19th Congress sa pagpasok ng bagong administrasyon, ayon kay Majority Leader at 1st District Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez na number 1 contender sa House Speakership.

Ginawa ni Romualdez ang pahayag bilang reaksyon sa pakikipagkamay ng pamangkin nito na si Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos kay ret. Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon na naging hayagan ang pagbatikos noon kay presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Si Sandro ay panganay na anak ni BBM.

“So thats what we all are about. We are about the House of the people, the House of Representatives of the Phiippines. We are for every Filipino. No more colors no more politics work,” ayon kay Romualdez, Presidente ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD).

Kasabay nito, nanawagan si Romualdez sa kanyang mga kapwa mambabatas na kalimutan muna ang magkakaibang kulay ng pulitika upang mapagbuti ang trabaho para sa kapakanan ng mga Pilipino. (Daris Jose)

MIYEMBRO NG ABU SAYYAF GROUP NAARESTO SA NAIA

NAARESTO ng mga ahente ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang hinihinalang miyembro ng Abu Sayyaf Group sa kabila ng pagtatago nito sa kanyang pagkakakilanlan .

Sinabi ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente na si Omar Bin Harun, 52, ay nasabat sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 paglapag niya sakay ng Philippine Airlines mula Kuala Lumpur na nagpakita ng Malaysian passport pero pinaghihinalaang peke ito.

“While his passport seems to be genuine, we believe he might have procured it through illegal means or by misrepresentation,” ayon kay Morente.

Ayon sa BI, lumalabas na si Omar, ay isang Filipino national, ay sinasabing miyembro ng ASG at sangkot ito sa 2001 Lamitan Siege na sumakop sa isang simbahan at hospital at ginawang hostage ang mga pari, medical staff at mga pasyente.

Sinabi naman ni BI-NAIA Anti-Terrorist Group (ATG) Chief Bienvenido Castillo III na nakatanggap sila ng intelligence information hinggil sa pagdating sa bansa ni Omar kaya nakipag-coordinate sila sa ilang law enforcement para sa kanyang pag-aresto.

“Omar was also said to have links with the terrorist group ISIS,” ayon kay Castillo. “We were informed then that there was also a warrant for his arrest from the Philippine National Police Southern Police District,” dagdag pa nito.

Sinabi ni Castillo na nai-turn over na si Omar was turned over na sa PNP na nagpatupad sa kanyang pagkakaaresto.

“Coordination amongst law enforcement agencies, both here and abroad, is necessary to curb terrorist activities that attempt to destroy the peace and order in our country. We will remain vigilant to ensure that these criminals are brought to justice,” ayon kay Morente. (GENE ADSUARA)

Tom Cruise’s Return as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and His Daredevil Attitude

A brand new Top Gun: Maverick trailer highlights Tom Cruise’s return as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell.

With less than a week to go before the Joseph Kosinski blockbuster hits theaters, Paramount is continuing its marketing efforts to keep the hype going until the Top Gun sequel premiere.

In a new promotional spot, Cruise’s daredevil pilot takes center stage as he returns to the character he last played more than three decades ago.

The highly-anticipated sequel to Tony Scott’s Top Gun is finally releasing in theaters on May 27 (May 25th in the Philippines) after a series of delays. Top Gun: Maverick will see Cruise’s Maverick still working at the same flight academy he trained in, but now, as an instructor himself.

Among his students is the son of his former RIO Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (Miles Teller), who isn’t exactly fond of him. Aside from this core conflict, the follow-up blockbuster will also delve deep into Maverick’s psyche as he’s forced to re-examine his life and deal with deep-seated internal turmoil that he has long tried to ignore.

Shared on Top Gun’s official Twitter page is a brand new Top Gun: Maverick trailer. Clocking in at just 15 seconds, the video focuses on Maverick’s daredevil attitude both on the ground and up in the air, reminding viewers that he may have aged, but his devil-may-care attitude is still very much intact.

While the general public has to wait several more days before seeing the Top Gun sequel, critics reviews have already been released and they’re all generally positive. Much of the marketing for Top Gun: Maverick focuses on the fantastic stunts and action scenes that the film’s cast and crew worked on for months, so the glowing reviews these scenes received was somehow expected.

The other common praise for Top Gun: Maverick is for its emotional story. Between the involvement of Goose’s son and the return of Val Kilmer as Tom “Kazansky” Iceman, there’s a strong sense of nostalgia in the movie. But more than those, the film’s examination of Maverick is very important, especially since it’s clear he has been self-sabotaging himself for years — remaining as a Navy Captain when he could easily climb further up the organization ladder given his piloting skills.

The original Top Gun movie was about the actual flight academy and the experiences the trainees underwent while participating in boot camp. Some of that will factor in the sequel with a new generation of newbie pilots learning about camaraderie.

But, as suggested by its title, Top Gun: Maverick will heavily focus on Cruise’s character. A lot of time has passed since audiences last saw him, and while it appears as if he hasn’t changed much, everything else around him has. P1 bilyon sa health workers na nagka-COVID-19, inilabas

MAHIGIT sa P1 bilyon ang inilabas ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) para sa sickness at death benefits ng public at private healthcare workers at mga hindi health workers na tinamaan at matatamaan ng COVID-19 habang nagsisilbi sila sa gitna ng pandemya.

Sinabi ng DBM na sakop nito ang mga nagkaroon ng mild o moderate COVID-19 infection na makakatanggap ng P15,000 habang ang mga nasapul naman ng severe o critical ay bibigyan ng P100,000 bilang kompensasyon.

Makakatanggap naman ng P1 milyon ang mga pamilya ng HCWs at non-HCWs na nasawi sa COVID habang nasa duty.

Ang pagtukoy ng eligible HCWs at non-HCWs ay nakabase sa criteria na itinakda ng health department.

Ang pondo ay manggagaling sa regular budget ng DOH sa ilalim ng Fiscal Year 2022 General Appropriations Act at ililipat sa DOH-retained and corporate hospitals, DOH Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers, at Centers for Health Development, at iba pang attached institutions.

Tiniyak naman ng departamento na ipagpapatuloy nito ang timely approval ng budget para sa frontliners.

Mga Filipino sa Vietnam, todo suporta sa mga atletang pinoy na sumasabak sa 31st SEA Games

IBA’T IBANG pamamaraan ang ginagawa ngayon ng mga Pilipino sa Vietnam para maipakita ang kanilang suporta sa mga Pilipino athlete sa nagpapatuloy na 31st South East Asian Games.

Sinabi ni Bombo International News Correspondent Arlie Dela Peña, isang guro sa Hanoi, Vietnam na kahit kaunti lamang silang mga Pilipino sa naturang bansa ay mainit ang kanilang suporta sa team ng Pilipinas.

Aniya, iba’t ibang pamamaraan ang kanilang ginagawa para maipakita ang kanilang suporta.

May mga nagpapagawa ng scarf na may nakalagay na Mabuhay Pilipinas, nagpapadisenyo sila ng mga T-shirt, may dala silang watawat ng Pilipinas sa pagtungo sa venue at flaglets.

Kahit nasa malayo aniya ay nagpupunta para manood at nang magkaroon ng suporta sa mga atleta ng bansa.

Pinakaabangan naman nila si weighlifter Hidilyn Diaz at ang soccer team ng Pilipinas.

Sa ngayon ay patuloy na nangunguna ang host country na Vietnam sa 31st South East Asian Games.

Proklamasyon sa 12 nanalong senador, partial party-list, ipo-proklama na– Comelec

NAKATAKDANG iproklama ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang mga mananalong senador sa Miyerkules ng hapon.

Ayon kay Comelec Commissioner George Garcia, sabay-sabay daw ipoproklama ang 12 winning Senators.

Ngayong araw dadating ang mga Certificate of Canvass mula sa Hong Kong.

Ang mga Party-list groups na sigurado nang magkakaroon ng upuan sa Kongreso ay ipoproklama naman kinabukasan o sa araw ng Huwebes.

Sa ngayon, nasa 159 sa 173 COCs ang na-canvass na ng poll body na tumatayong National Board of Canvassers (NBOC).

Ang 24 na natitirang COCs ay kinabibilangan ng 19 manual overseas COCs, isang manual COC mula sa Vulnerable Sector Office, isang manual COCs mula sa 63 barangays, isang electronic COC mula Lanao del Sur, isang electronic overseas COC mula Hong Kong at isang electronic COC mula sa Jordan.

Ang Lanao del Sur ay magsasagawa naman ng special election at ang target at sa May 24 matapos ideklara ang failure of elections sa 14 barangays.

Nanindigan naman si Garcia na kailangang maiproklama nang minsanan ang mga nanalong senador.

Para naman sa party-list, posible umanong hindi maiproklama lahat dahil bawat bilang dito ay mahalaga para sa mga grupong hindi pa nakakakuha ng 2 percent ng total votes.

Sa ilalim kasi ng batas ay dapat makakuha ng dalawang pursiyento ang mga party-list groups para makakuha ng isang upuan sa Kamara.

VP Leni Robredo, mga anak lumipad pa-New York

LUMIPAD pa-New York City si Vice President Leni Robredo kasama ang kanyang mga anak upang dumalo sa graduation ng kanyang bunso na si Jillian at gugulin ang oras kasama ang kanyang pamilya.

Sa kanyang Instagram, nagbahagi si Aika, anak ni Robredo, ng video kasama ang kanyang ina at mga kapatid habang sakay ng eroplano.

Sa kabila ng naturang biyahe, tiniyak naman ng bise presidente na pangangasiwaan pa rin niya ang paghahanda para sa paglulunsad ng Angat Buhay program.

Ang Angat Buhay program ay isang non-government organization na binubuo ng mga volunteers na tumulong sa kanyang kampanya noong katatapos na eleksiyon.

Sinabi rin ni Robredo na ang Office of the Vice President ang siyang gumagawa ng paghahanda para sa official turnover ng kanyang tanggapan sa susunod na bise presidente ng bansa na si Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Matatandaang si Robredo ay tumakbo sa pagka-pangulo sa katatapos na May 9 polls.

Bigo naman si Robredo na maluklok sa puwesto matapos na talunin ng kanyang mahigpit na katunggali na si presumptive president Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr..

Batay sa partial unofficial tally ng mga boto sa pagkapangulo hanggang noong Mayo 13 mula sa datos ng Comelec Transparency Media Server, nakakuha lamang si Robredo ng 14,822,051 boto kumpara sa 31,104,175 boto ni Marcos. (Daris Jose)

SA recent Instagram post ni Queen of All Media Kris Aquino kinumpirma nito na mas malala at life threatening ang illness niya.

Base ito sa naging resulta ng mga medical test niya sa Amerika, kaya nabahala ang kanyang mga doktor dahil posibleng ma-damage ang heart at lungs niya.

Panimula ni Kris sa IG post kasama ang isang video, “pasensya na, hindi po ako sigurado if my video made sense. Mula end of April, we found out life threatening na yung illness ko.

“I’ve always been proud of my honesty & courage. Ginusto ko na maka lipad sana ng tahimik pero utang ko po sa mga nagdarasal na gumanda ang aking kalusugan ang mag THANK YOU & to tell the TRUTH.”

Say pa niya, “kayo na lang please ang mag research- 3 ang confirmed autoimmune conditions ko: chronic spontaneous urticaria, autoimmune thyroiditis, and definitively confirmed after my 3rd skin biopsy was read by a pathologist here & in the USA – meron po akong vasculitis, to be very specific – late stage 3 of Churg Strauss Syndrome now also known as EGPA.”

Dagdag pag-amin pa niya, “My team of doctors here & abroad (we’ve been closely consulting with a Filipino-American doctor and his team in Houston, Texas. Here the majority of my doctors practice in St Luke’s BGC and/or Makati Medical Center except my neurologist who has clinics in Asian, Perpetual & Medical City).

“They are all worried about organ damage in my heart & in my lungs. Kaya lahat ng paraan sinubukan for me to get to Houston soonest. Yung gamot that God willing can help save me doesn’t have FDA approval here or in Singapore & isasabay na po mag infuse ng chemotherapy as my immunosuppressant. Why? Allergic po ako sa lahat ng steroids.”

Sa kabila ng matinding pinagdaraanan,nakikiusap din si Kris sa netizens na hinay-hinay sa negative comments para sa kanyang dalawang anak na sina Joshua at Bimby.

“Not for my sake, pero for my 2 sons, 1 in the autism spectrum & 1 only 15- kung balak nyo pong mambastos or mag comment ng masakit o masama, sa mga sarili nyo na lang pong IG, FB, or chat group sana gawin,” sabi ng aktres.

“Hindi nyo po ako kailangan gustuhin para magpakatao… please don’t punish kuya & bimb for being my sons. Hindi po masama ang maglakas ng loob at magsabi ng sobrang bigat na katotohanan.”

Pinusuan naman ng netizens at celebrity friends ang IG post ni Kris at pinagdarasal ng nakararami na sana’y gabayan siya at pagalingin ng Diyos.

Kaya nagbago ng career tulad ng pagdidirek: JOHN, tanggap na ‘laos’ na siya bilang gay comedian

TANGGAP na ni John “Sweet” Lapus na “laos” na siya bilang gay comedian.

Lumipas na raw ang ningning ng kanyang bituin. Kaya tinanggap na rin ni Sweet na kailangan na rin niyang magbago ng career.

“Tanggap ko na iba na ang direction ng career ko the moment I accepted na magdidirek na ako sa TV at pelikula,” sabi ni Sweet.

May time limit daw ang pagiging comedian. Hindi na raw siya pwedeng lumabas na sidekick ng bidang babae dahil ang mga sikat ngayon ay mas bata sa kanya.

Ini-enjoy ni Sweet ang pagiging director niya. Siya ang napili nina Dingdong Dantes at Marian Rivera na maging director ng sitcom nila sa GMA titled Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa.

Bukod dito ay writer din siya ng sitcom na Daddy’s Gurl at director ng satire show na BalitaOneNan sa Cignal TV.

Tumatanggap pa rin naman siya ng acting jobs dahil mas malaki ang tf niya as an actor. Pero enjoy siya working as a director dahil mas nagagamit niya ang kanyang creativity.

Swerte rin siya with the people he works with dahil may tiwala ito sa kanya at tanggap mga input niya bilang director.

Siya ang personal choice nina Dingdong at Marian, na co-producers ng sitcom, to direct the show. And he is very grateful.

“It’s such an honor. Masaya ako na may trabaho na dumarating kahit na nasa pandemic pa rin tayo,” sabi ni Sweet.

Nakatrabaho niya si Marian sa Show Me Da Manny for three years pero first time niya to work with Dingdong.

Masaya ang celebrity press preview na dinaluhan ng buong cast sa Cinema 1 ng Santolan Town Plaza last Sunday. May mga fans din ng KDLex na dumalo sa screening na kilig na kilig sa mga eksena ng dalawang bida.

Very sweet si KD kay Alexa. May pa-holding hands pa ito at paakbay-akbay na lalong nagpakilig sa mga fans.

Kapwa ayaw bigyan ng label nina KD at Alexa ang sweetness na ipinapakita nila. Ini-enjoy lang daw nila ang kanilang pagtratrabaho together. Naturally sweet daw talaga sila sa isa’t-isa.

Nagpapasalamat din ang KDLex sa suporta ng kanilang mga fans. Iilan buwan pa lang nang sila ay ilunsad bilang tandem pero dama nila ang init ng suporta ng mga fans sa kanila.
