ARTA award, nasungkit ng Navotas at Valenzuela

NASUNGKIT ng Navotas at Valenzuela Cities ang Accelerating Reforms for Improved Service Efficiency (ARISE) Award mula sa Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) para sa kanilang good governance at exemplary service.

Tinanggap ni Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco, kasama si Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez, at Valenzuela Mayor Wes Gtachalian, kasama si Business Permits and Licensing Office Head Atty. Ulysses Gallego ang parangal mula kina Secretary Ernesto Perez at Undersecretary Gerald Divinagracia sa pagdiriwang ng ikalimang anibersaryo ng ARTA sa The Manila Hotel.

“This recognition is the outcome of the collaborative efforts of all city government offices. We especially commend our electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS) and Information and Communications Technology Office staff for continuously developing our digital system and simplifying all processes for Navoteño taxpayers,” sabi ni Tiangco.

Pinuri ang Navotas sa buong pagsunod nito sa Ease of Doing Business at Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 partikular sa pagpapatupad ng eBOSS.

Sa pamamagitan ng pasilidad ng eBOSS ng lungsod, ang mga Navoteñong negosyante ay maaaring mag-apply, mag-renew, at magbayad para sa kanilang mga permit sa loob ng kanilang sariling mga opisina.

Noong nakaraang Marso, nakatanggap din ang Navotas ng sertipikasyon mula sa ARTA para sa pagiging isa sa anim na LGU sa Metro Manila na may mahusay, sistematiko, at fully-operational na eBOSS.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Mayor Gatchalian na ito ang unang ARISE awards na nakamit ng Pamahalaang Lungsod sa ilalim ng kanyang administrasyon.

Ang ARISE Awards ay nagsisilbing komprehensibong pagkilala para sa parehong national government agencies (NGAs) at local government units (LGUs) bilang pagkilala sa kanilang mga pagsisikap na mapahusay ang bureaucratic efficiency sa bansa.

Nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno na makibahagi sa apat na kategorya ng ARISE Awards, ito ay: Compliance sa EBOSS para sa mga LGU o Digitalization of Services Award para sa mga NGA, Adherence to the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Award, Nakamit sa Report Card Survey 2.0 Award, at Philippine Ease of Doing Business Reporting System Award.

Kilala sa reputasyon nito bilang business-friendly city, kinilala ang Valenzuela City bilang isa sa walong LGU sa bansa na matagumpay na nakatupad sa mga kinakailangan ng ARISE Award sa lahat ng apat na kategorya.

“With this award in hand, the City Government of Valenzuela will continue its mission towards its goal of creating a business-friendly and corruption-free environment for all the business entities in the city”, ani Gatchalian. (Richard Mesa)

Paggamit ng ‘super app’ ng gobyerno, makababawas sa korapsyon

UMAASA si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na mababawasan ang korapsyon sa paggamit ng “e-Gov PH Super App” kung saan pagsama-samahin ang lahat ng government online services sa isang plataporma.

Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Marcos ang paglulunsad ng super app ng gobyerno sa President Hall sa loob ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang.

Ipinaliwanag ng Punong Ehekutibo na sa pamamagitan ng app, magiging simple ang public services at walang “discretion” mula sa government employee.

Sinabi pa nito na sa pamamagitan ng sistema, ang problema ng publiko sa pakikipagsabwatan sa “fixers” ay maiiwasan.

“There is another part of this that is extremely important, that we sometimes do not talk about and that is the lessening of corruption. Because, you do not have to talk to a person at all, for the entire process, wala kang kausap na tao . There’s no discretion that’s being exercised at any point. It’s either yes, no, yes, no… it’s binary,” ang pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang naging talumpati.

“That way, it simplifies the process especially for the citizens and there is no discretion being exercised by anyone. Eh kung di mo ko lagyan, hindi ko ipapaano ito. Iipitin ko ito, mga ganon. Kausapin mo si ganito, ganyan, siya magaayos, ‘yung fixer niya. Mawawala na ‘yan. We owe that to the people,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na ang buong ideya ng e-governance ay marapat na gawin ng Pilipinas sa panahon ng digitalisasyon.

“We did a survey of how people used the internet in the Philippines and the result was quite enlightening. They say, 95% of their daily activities, the shopping, the paying, the bank, even the payments to government, 95% are done online,” ayon sa Pangulo.

“Ano ‘yung 5%? Government. We cannot do it online, we have to go to the office, we have to collect the birth certificate, the documentation, the clearance and then we go to the government and they say ‘you’re missing one document.’ Balik na naman. That just won’t work,” dagdag na wika nito.

Samantala, ang national ID ay gagamitin bilang single verification para sa government transaction sa pamamagitan ng government super app.

Binigyang diin ni Pangulong Marcos na ginagawa na ng pamahalaan ang makakaya nito para sa delivery ng national IDs, sabay sabing “they are really going to be the central focal point for the dissemination of information and the dissemination of services.”

“That’s what we’re working on and I think we’re making a good deal of progress, we’re finding those operations, those groups who were able to print them out. Right now, it’s a little unsatisfactory because what we call an ID is essentially a picture of an ID. There’s no data that backs it up,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy na nagbigay na si Pangulong Marcos ng kautusan para idetermina ang dahilan ng pagkaantala ng pagpapalabas ng IDs.

Sa kabilang dako, sinabi ni Uy na maaari nang i-download ng pubiko ang app “for free” mula sa Apple Store at Google Play.

“This will be a continuing process as we continually improve the system, as we continue to bring together all the government agencies in the platform,” ayon kay Uy.

Owen Gleiberman from Variety writes that “the images in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse have an intoxicating unpredictability. Writing for The Los Angeles Times, Katie Walsh raves, “A breathlessly beautiful achievement not just in animation but also comic book movie storytelling, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is willing to shred the lore from top to bottom and weave it back together again in new, surprising and wildly entertaining ways. It’s simply spectacular.”

Local critics and fans are applauding, too.

Film critic Vives Anunciacion raves, “Once in a while, a film comes along and resets its genre. Call it the Empire Strikes Back or The Godfather Part 2 of the Spider-Verse. I call it amazing in any universe.”

Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Ramon De Veyra explains what makes Across the Spider-Verse work so well. “The story is intriguing, with the dialogue compelling and natural, peppered with great jokes and asides, delivered by great performers doing some of their best work,” he says. “It can be dense and then stop for a breathtaking vista that the characters admire in silence, giving the audience room to breathe, before ratcheting up the tension once again.”

ANCX’s resident reviewer Andrew Paredes declares, “If Into the Spider-Verse showed us what superhero movies could be, Across the Spider-Verse shows us what they should be. If the first movie debuted an animation style that unabashedly embraces its comic-book origins… this installment takes it even further pushing the limits of its animation into something even more stunning, something even more tactile, something that morphs moment by moment with the emotional beats of its storytelling… what you’re seeing is the future of superhero movies.”

The local geek community can’t contain their excitement, as well.

“You can’t miss it on the big screen because movie franchises like these only come once in a generation. DO NOT wait for it to stream. PLEASE GO SEE IT NOW because it’s absolutely AMAZING!” raves Jiggy Cruz of Geek Speak, who calls Across the Spider-Verse “a feast for the eyes every second.”

For Abby Maravilla, geek content creator Coach Abby on TikTok, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a feast for the eyes, the heart, and the soul, so don’t miss it.” Besides lauding the film’s animation, she gives high praise to the characterization. She adds, “It’s a coming-of-age movie and a superhero movie, but what really surprised me was how well the characters are fleshed out and how relatable they all are. I definitely saw parts of myself in the different Spider-Persons there.”

FlipScience’s Mikael Francisco calls the movie “a multiversal masterpiece of stylistic storytelling – the kind that only a character as powerful and meaningful as Spider-Man can carry… no matter what kind of Spider-Man fan you are, you will find something in this two-hour masterpiece that will make you say, ‘I am so glad I watched this movie.’”

May dalawang teleserye na dapat abangan: LEANDRO, ipinagmamalaki ang inukit sa kahoy na ‘Voltes V’

ANG bongga naman nang inukit na Voltes V figure ng dating sexy actor na si Leandro Baldemor na pinost niya ang finish product sa kanyang Facebook na punum-puno ng detalye.

Ayon kay Leandro nasa 5’2” ang taas nasabing figure na pinagawa ng isang Voltes V collector, na humigit-kumulang ay dalawa’t kalahating buwan na ginawa nila.

Kuwento ng aktor na may matinding proseso na pagdaraanan muna ang kahoy.

Sa tsikahan namin noong Hunyo 3, Sabado sa Obras de Paete gallery niya sa Paete, Laguna.

“Pagka-block ko sa kahoy, ipinorma naming maigi yung posisyon ni Voltes V. Kasi, hindi basta inukit, e.

“Makikita mo, naka-action siya, e. May dala siyang sword.

“Maraming proseso yun kung paano mong mabubuo nang maayos. Tapos, ang ginawa namin, pagkakuha dun sa styro, ipe-papier-mache para hindi matutuklap yung styro.

“Naka-papier-mache siya, tapos habang inuukit yan, nakaporma siya diyan. Para lahat ng scaling dun sa styro, lahat ng sukat, mapoporma na sa kahoy.

“So mas madaling proseso. Yun nga lang, medyo mahaba pero mas smooth yung takbo. Kasi mas matigas yung kahoy. Kung doon ka mag-a-adjust nang mag-a-adjust, mas mahirap.

“Ngayon, in-adjust muna namin sa styro para kung makapal, kung manipis, nandun na lahat. Pag kumpleto na siya, saka namin inukit sa kahoy, sa kamagong.”

Lumang kahoy yung kamagong na ginamit niya sa pag-ukit kay Voltes V.

Sabi pa niya, “Stock ko yun, e. Pag may nagbebenta sa akin ng mga old wood na kamagong, bili ako!”

“Narra. Kasi, ang mga ibinebenta ngayong narra, mga bata pa. So mangyari, dapat ang narra, pula lang.

“Pag may nagbebenta, bili ako sa tamang presyo. Stock-stock lang yan para halimbawa may special na gustong magpaukit, o di maganda yung kahoy na iano mo sa kanya.

Nakita namin sa bahay niya ang mga sample vintage lamp posts, na kung saan na nakakuha siya ng kontrata na ilalagay sa kahabaan ilang lugar sa Laguna, tulad ng Pagsanjan hanggang Luisiana.

Sa ngayon ay nakakontrata siyang mag-deliver ng 100+ vintage lampposts na mas malalaki kesa sa lampposts ng Jones Bridge sa Manila.

Pero kahit kilala na si Leandro bilang mang-uukit, ‘di pa rin niya maiwan ang showbiz.

“Hinahanap ko nung una, ayaw ko magpaka-impokrito, kailangan ko ng showbiz dahil sa… iba na kasi ngayon ang kliyente.

“Ang kliyente ngayon hindi na pupuntahan ang shop mo most of the time, kung ‘di ka nila makikita.

“Pag siyempre artista ka, nakilala ‘yung page mo, kaya yung page ko 30K followers na yan, ‘yung Paete Handicraft by Leandro Baldemor.

“Pag kasi artista ka, tatawagan ka sa telepono, ‘di ba ikaw si Leandro’ papakilala ka na para break agad yung ice, tiwala, ok na agad so malaking bagay ‘yung active ka sa showbiz kasi alam nilang may hahabulin sila,” kuwento pa niya

May dalawa siyang teleserye na gagawin sa GMA 7. Yung isa with Jillian Ward na kukunan partly sa South Korea and hopefully matuloy siya sa isa pang serye na magtatambal ang dalawang bigating Kapuso stars.
