Wala ng aktibong NPA guerrilla fronts sa Pinas

WALA ng aktibong New People’s Army (NPA) guerrilla fronts sa Pilipinas.

Sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na resulta ito ng matagumpay na pinaigting na kampanya ng administrasyon laban sa internal threats.

Sa isang video na in- upload sa kanyang social media accounts, araw ng Sabado, Enero 13, pinuri ni Pangulong Marcos ang mga law enforcer sa pagganap sa kanilang mga papel at tungkulin sa pagsisikap ng gobyerno para kontrahin ang internal security threats.

Ayon sa Pangulo, “as of December 2023”, na neutralized ng gobyerno ang 1,399 miyembro ng komunista at local terrorist groups.

Iniulat nito na nasamsam ng gobyerno ang 1,751 firearms sa pamamagitan ng pagsilo, pagbawi at pagsuko “as of last month.”

Dahil dito, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na hindi ititigil ng pamahalaan ang anti-insurgency campaign nito.

“Maaari na nating mai-report na wala ng active NPA guerilla front as of December 2023. Kaya patuloy nating ipaglalaban ito,” aniya pa rin.

“These commitments underscore our steadfast commitment to peace and stability,” dagdag na wika nito.

Pinuri rin ng Punong Ehekutibo ang mga naging bahagi ng pagsisikap ng pamahalaan laban sa internal threats, partikular na sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), at Department of National Defense (DND).

“Maganda naman ang performance ng ating AFP. Maganda naman ang performance ng ating mga pulis at maganda ang koordinasyon ng SND, ng Department of National Defense, lahat ng ating intelligence agencies,” ayon pa rin sa Pangulo.

“Sila nagtutulungan kaya naman naging matagumpay ang ating kampanya kontra sa internal terrorism,” dagdag na wika nito. (Daris Jose)

Most wanted na rapist, nakorner sa Valenzuela

HIMAS-REHAS ang binata na inakusahan ng panggagahasa sa isang menor-de-edad matapos masukol ng pulisya sa ikinasang manhunt operation sa Valenzuela City, kamakalawa ng gabi.

Kinilala ni Valenzuela police chief P/Col. Salvador Destura Jr., ang naarestong akusado na si alyas “Bryan”, 24 ng Brgy. Parada ng lungsod.

Sa ulat ni Col. Destura kay Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Rizalito Gapas, nakatanggap ng impormasyon ang mga operatiba ng Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) kung saan ang eksaktong lugar na kinaroroon ng akusado.

Bumuo ng team ang WSS sa pangunguna ni P/Lt. Ronald Bautista, kasama ang Northern NCR Maritime Police Station saka ikinasa ang joint manhunt operation kontra wanted persons na nagresulta sa pagkakadakip kay Bryan dakong alas-6:30 ng gabi sa Alicia St., Fortune 4, Brgy., Parada.

Ani Lt. Bautista, hindi naman pumalag ang akusado nang isilbi nila sa kanya ang warrant of arrest na inisyu ni Valenzuela City Family Court, Branch 16 Presiding Judge Mateo B Altarejos nitong January 12, 2024, para sa kasong Statutory Rape.

Pinuri naman ni Gen. Gapas ang Valenzuela police sa kanilang masigasig na kampanya kontra wanted persons na nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto sa akusado na pansamantalang ipiniit sa custodial facility unit Valenzuela CPS habang hinihintay ang paglalabas ng commitment order ng korte para sa paglilipat sa kanya sa Valenzuela City Jail. PBBM, itinalaga si Diokno bilang miyembro ng Monetary Board

MAGBABALIK si dating Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) bilang miyembro ng Monetary Board.

Pinalitan ni dating Deputy Speaker Ralph Recto si Diokno bilang Kalihim ng Department of Finance (DoF).

Nauna rito, pinasalamatan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Diokno para sa “excellent performance” nito sa departamento.

“We cannot finish this event here this afternoon without a very heartfelt and warm wishes and gratitude to Secretary Ben Diokno for the services that he has given to the Department of Finance in his time as Department of Finance [Secretary],” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

Inalala naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang panahon na hiniling niya kay Diokno, noon ay dating gobernador ng BSP na mag-take over sa DOF upang sumulong ang ekonomiya at ilagay ang lahat ng polisiya sa “right track” sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“Being one of our country’s pillars of economic management, we shall continue to rely on your expertise and exuberance as a member now of the Monetary Board [of the BSP]. Maraming, maraming salamat from a grateful nation, Secretary Ben Diokno,” ayon sa Punong Ehekutibo.

Nauna nang hiniling ng Pangulo kay Diokno na sumama sa Maharlika Investment Fund at sa management nito, subalit nakiusap si Diokno, sabay sabing “not what he feels is a specialty of his.”

Inalok din sa kanya na umanib sa Monetary Board.

“Once again, I cannot thank Secretary Ben Diokno enough for setting the economy onto the right path. He has guided us, he has put the essentials into place, he has made the structural changes that we need,” ayon pa rin sa Chief Executive.

“And therefore, he has – these economic figures, the results that we are getting a lot of that can certainly be attributable to the work that he did as Department of Finance Secretary,” dagdag na wika nito.

Samantala, sumama si Diokno sa BSP Monetary Board, pinalitan nito si Peter Favilla kung saan nagtapos ang termino noong Hulyo 2, 2023.

Bago pa ang kanyang posisyon sa BSP, nagslbi si Diokno bilang BSP Governor mula Marso 5, 2019 hanggang Hunyo 30, 2022 at dating Kalihim ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM). (Daris Jose)

Binigyang-diin ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco ang halaga ng wastong kaalaman kung paano mag-ipon, mag-invest, at gumamit ng pera, lalo na para may sapat na maipangtustos sa mga pangangailangan pagtanda. Mega Job Fair sa Navotas City

NASA 254 Navoteno ang nag-apply sa Mega Job Fair na isinagawa bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng 118th Navotas Day kung saan tampok ang 27 na mga kompanya at ang mga ahensya ng SSS, Pag-Ibig, at PhilHealth. Sa talumpati ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco, pinayuhan niya ang mga jobseekers na pagyamanin ang kanilang kaalaman upang mas maraming oportunidad pa ang magbukas para sa kanila. (Richard Mesa)

Aliño, bagong SBMA head

OPISYAL na itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang negosyanteng si Eduardo Aliño bilang bagong chairperson at administrador ng Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).

Sa katunayan, pormal nang nanumpa sa kanyang tungkulin si Aliño sa harap ni Pangulong Marcos bilang SBMA head sa isang seremonya sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang.

“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sworn in businessman Eduardo Aliño on Friday as administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority,” ayon kay Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil sa isang kalatas.

Ang SBMA ay nagsisilbi bilang “operating at implementing arm” ng gobyerno para sa development ng Subic Bay Freeport upang maging “self-sustaining tourism, industrial, commercial, financial, at investment center” para makalikha ng employment opportunities.

Pinalitan ni Aliño si dating SBMA administrator Jonathan Tan na uupo naman sa kanyang bagong posisyon sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Tinuran pa ni Garafil na nanumpa na rin si Tan bilang DILG undersecretary.

Si Aliño ang chair ng Subic Bay Yacht Club, at maging pangulo at chairperson ng S.T.A.R. Group of Companies.

Siya rin ang pangulo at chairperson ng Subic Bay Freeport Grain Terminal Services, Inc. at Mega Equipment International Corp.

Samantala, si Tan ay nagsilbi naman bilang Alkalde ng Pandan, Antique mula 2010 hanggang 2019.

Si Tan ay isa ring negosyanteng na siyang nagmamay-ari ng JDT Construction and Supply at nagsilbi bilang pangulo ng JDT Trading. (Daris Jose)

Sinalubong ng winter season sa South Korea sina Mikael Daez, Glaiza De Castro, Buboy Villar, Lexi Gonzales, Kokoy de Santos, and Angel Guardian.

Ngayong second season, extra challenging ang labanan dahil tag-lamig at nagyeyelo pa sa South Korea.

Isang buwan pala mag-shoot ang runners minus Ruru Madrid dahil may second season ang pinagbibidahan nitong ‘Black Rider.’

Kaya pinaghandaanan daw ni Liezel ang lahat dahil alam niyang nakatutok sa kanila ni Jasmine si Direk Laurice Guillen.

Thankful si Liezel na kontrabida siya dahil nagagawa niyang paglaruan ang character niyang si Shaira.

“Nung kinausap ako ni Direk Laurice regarding my character, talagang inaral ko yung mga puwede kong gawin para mapakita ko na may pinaglalaban si Shaira.

“So far, okey po ang lahat. Wala pa namang nasasabing hindi maganda si Direk Laurice sa performance ko,” sey ni Liezel.

NAKA-MOVE on na si Joe Jonas sa failed marriage niya sa aktres na si Sophie Turner.

Pagkatapos na mag-file ni Joe ng divorce last year, nakitang may iba nang kasamang girl ang singer sa pagpasok ng bagong taon.

Nakunan ng TMZ si Joe kasama ang former Miss Teen USA winner Stormi Bree. Pasakay sila sa isang private jet from Los Cabo.

Si Sophie naman ay balitang dine-date ang aristocrat na si Peregrine Pearson. Nakita ang Game of Thrones star na kahalikan si Pearson sa Gard du Nord train station in Paris noong November 2023.

Sa lapses sa imbestigasyon ng pumanaw na ama: JANNO, humihingi ng public apology at ‘di na magsasampa ng kaso

NAGLABAS na ng official statement ang singer-actor na si Janno Gibbs tungkol sa pagkalat ng unauthorized and sensitive video ng imbestigasyon ng pulisya sa pagpanaw ng ama na si Ronaldo Valdez noong December 17, 2023.

Labis na ikinabigla ng kanilang pamilya ang pagpanaw ng beteranong aktor. Pero mas lalo raw nalungkot sina Janno dahil sa hindi maayos na paghawak ng pulisya sa imbestigasyon sa bahay kung saan natagpuang wala nang buhay si Ronaldo, na kung saan kumalat ang videos, na tila walang paggalang sa namatay.

Nitong Lunes, January 15, 2023, humarap sa media si Janno, kasama si Atty. Lorna Kapuna, na siyang nagbasa ng opisyal na pahayag ni Janno:

“The sudden death of my father Ronaldo Valdez on 17 December 2023 shocked, not just my family, but the entire showbiz industry.

“Before my family could process our grief, we faced even more pain due to the oblivious handling of the investigation by the Philippine National Police, leading to the unauthorized release of the video online detailing the investigation and the subsequent thoughtless social media posts – some sharing my private information and others circulating fake news, even outrageously suggesting that I had a part in my father’s death.

“Such negligent handling of the investigation, and the consequent media attacks against my family caused us immense emotional distress.

“We strongly denounce, in the strongest terms possible, the evident mismanagement of the investigation and mishandling of sensitive data showing apparent lapses and breaches of confidentiality on the part of the Investigation Team.

“Such reckless actions of certain individuals in leaking sensitive information are deeply alarming – not just for my family, but for society as a whole.”

Kaya naman humingi sila ng public apology sa mga taong involved at hindi na rin sila magsasampa ng kaso.

“We therefore demand that the PNP and the officers directly accountable for the lapses in the investigation make a public apology for the breach of trust and the trauma caused to my family.

” To enable us to mourn and deal with the pain privately, we have decided not to pursue further legal actions against the responsible police officers.

“Nonetheless, we were informed that an ongoing investigation is underway against the erring police officers, and we remain optimistic that the PNP and the appropriate government agencies will take the necessary action against those responsible.

“We trust that the agencies and individuals overseeing the said investigation will be transparent and honest in their reports.”

Nanawagan din si Janno sa publiko na maging mapanuri sa pagsi-share ng sensitive videos sa social media tulad ng nangyari sa kanilang ama.

“Finally, we encourage the public to exercise vigilance when sharing videos and posts online.

“We hope that this will also serve as a reminder to the netizens, who have duties to act responsibly online, especially so when the posts and videos affect individuals who are still in the midst of grieving.

“With this, we fervently wish that our appeal to the PNP will not fall on deaf ears, allowing us to swiftly bring an end to this regretful chapter of our lives.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to the people who, instead of immediately judging the situation, sympathized with our family for the loss of my father. Thank you.”

Bigo ang mga umaasang ikakasal na: BEA, itinangging nag-prenup shoot sila ni DOMINIC sa Japan

BIGO ang mga umaasa na ikakasal na sa lalong madaling panahon sina Bea Alonzo at Dominic Roque dahil sa prenup shoot daw ng dalawa sa Japan kamakailan.

Pasyal lamang at bakasyon ang ipinunta ng magkasintahan sa mga lugar sa Japan tulad ng Niseko, Otaru at Sapporo.

At dahil sa mga sweet photos na lumabas, inakala ng marami na iyon na ang prenup pictorial ng dalawa.

Kaya naman nilinaw agad ito ni Bea…

“Japan talaga yung favorite place namin,” umpisang pahayag ng aktres.

“Dun nag-start kasi yung love story namin. Yung pinunta namin is to ski. So, it was memorable kasi ang dami kong falls, ang dami kong ano. But then, everyday I was getting better.”

Sa ngayon, sa trabaho muna naka-focus si Bea, kaabang-abang nga ang pagsasama nila ng isa pang reyna ng GMA, si Carla Abellana sa “Widows’ War”.

Kuwento ni Bea, “It’s going to be an exciting soap because it’s my first time doing this genre.

“Yung ‘whodunit’ genre. Medyo dark siya, normally, nalilinya ako sa romcom or drama na heavy. But first-time na medyo dark.

“Nasa edge ka ng seat mo, ganun yung ibibigay niyang feeling sa iyo.”

GOOD news para sa Global Pinoys dahil aabot na sa UAE at California, USA ang screening ng 2023 MMFF Best Picture awardee na ‘Firefly’.

Mapapanood na sa ilang sinehan sa UAE ang ‘Firefly’ simula January 18. Kasama rin ang pelikula sa Metro Manila International Film Festival sa Los Angeles, California na ipalalabas mula January 29 hanggang February 2.

Talaga namang parami na nang parami ang nakatutuklas kung saan matatagpuan ang mundo ng mga alitaptap. Kaya naman, mga Kapuso mula UAE at California, USA, huwag sayangin ang pagkakataon!

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ sequel is officially in the works, with Tom Cruise and two other stars set to return

A follow-up to Top Gun: Maverick is officially in the works, according to a new report, with Tom Cruise and two other stars returning for Top Gun 3.

Cruise reprised the role of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell after more than three decades for Top Gun: Maverick, headlining the action drama that would become the second highest-grossing movie of 2022 behind Avatar: The Way of Water.

Speculation about a follow-up has ramped up again in recent days, given the announcement of Cruise’s new deal to star in big blockbuster projects for Warner Bros. In the immediate aftermath, many wondered what the deal would mean for the actor’s established Paramount franchises, such as Top Gun.

Writing in the What I’m Hearing newsletter for Puck, Matt Belloni confirms that Paramount is officially moving forward with Top Gun 3. Cruise will return as Pete Mitchell, as will Glen Powell and Miles Teller, who had prominent supporting parts as Hangman and Rooster, respectively, in 2022’s long-awaited sequel.

Belloni adds that Top Gun: Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger is already writing the script, with Joseph Kosinski potentially returning to direct as well as produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison.

The reporting in the newsletter is discussed in the context of Cruise’s partnership with Warner Bros. and what it means for Paramount. The deal is non-exclusive, which means the actor is free to work on Paramount tentpoles, including Top Gun 3 as well as the Mission: Impossible films. Belloni notes that Top Gun 3 could be Cruise’s next project after Mission: Impossible 8, if Kruger’s script comes together, but that is not confirmed.

Multiple outlets have mentioned that Cruise may not actually be freed up to work on a WB project until 2025 or 2026. But, when he is, Edge of Tomorrow 2 is possible. It’s also been floated that Cruise could lead a sequel to The Firm, reprising his character from the 1993 legal drama. Alternatively, there are hopes that the four-time Oscar nominee might spearhead a new action blockbuster for WB.

Outside of WB and Paramount, which have reportedly discussed a possible merger, Cruise is still linked to Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman’s space movie at Universal. One of the most recognizable stars on the globe has an unsurprisingly busy schedule, in other words. But even with that, the announcement of Top Gun 3 stands out thanks to the massive (and somewhat out of nowhere) box office success of its predecessor.

Though it was expected to be a hit, Top Gun: Maverick far exceeded expectations and grossed nearly $1.5 billion dollars worldwide, so it would be no surprise if everyone involved makes the sequel a priority. (source: screenrant.com)
