“It’s just so extraordinarily intense.” Take a look behind the scenes of “28 Years Later” in the new featurette with Danny Boyle, Nia DaCosta, and Ralph Fiennes

IN a world ravaged by infected, the greatest threat to survival might just be humanity. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland take us back into the twisted world of 28 Years Later, and turning the world on its head is director Nia DaCosta with 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.

The newest featurette has Danny Boyle talking about the impressive direction DaCosta has taken, and actor Ralph Fiennes on how humanity evolves in the face of danger and desperation.

In 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the real threat to humanity emerges in the land of the infected: the survivors themselves. After the events of the first film, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds a connection in the most unexpected of places, and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with the bizarre ringleader Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) spirals into something sinister.

As DaCosta takes over for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Boyle is confident that their story has fallen into the right hands. “Nia was the perfect choice to direct The Bone Temple. Alex Garland and I had long been fans of her reimagining of Candyman and recognized that Nia has serious horror chops – and a genuine love for the original 28 Days Later. She honors what fans love about the franchise while making the new film her own, taking the series into even darker, more intense areas.”

Garland also serves as a screenwriter for the film, and believes that the shift in directorial style is something to look forward to. “From the start, Nia told Danny and me that the camera would not move in the way Danny moves the camera, and it would not be edited in the way Danny cuts,” Garland confirms. “That was very impressive to Danny because most people’s instinct would have been to duplicate his style, and Nia didn’t do that. That was impressive and smart. Her film is quite different, and that’s a good thing.”

DaCosta was excited to helm a film from a franchise that she has been a longtime fan of, and is certain that she left a positive imprint in directing 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. “What connects the two films is that they’re both bonkers, idiosyncratic, and artistically personal works,” DaCosta notes.

“When I initially discussed the new film with Danny and Alex, I told them, ‘I’m going to make it my own. I’m not going to try to make ‘a Danny Boyle movie.’ Because that’s impossible to make. Alex’s script was very different from 28 Years Later, so it lends itself to a different approach. I could really put my imprint on it – to let my freak flag fly – and be visually adventurous and matching that with more classical filmmaking.”

Something sinister comes as 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple arrives in Philippine cinemas on January 14.

PRIME Video released the tease art, teaser trailer and premiere date for Young Sherlock, starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After series) as Sherlock Holmes.

This reimagining of the beloved detective, brought to life by visionary director and executive producer Guy Ritchie, charts the origin story of Sherlock Holmes in an irreverent, action-laden mystery that follows the iconic detective’s early adventures.

All eight episodes of the thrilling series will premiere on March 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes feature films, Young Sherlock follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days.

Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.

Previously announced cast members of Young Sherlock include Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor) and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech). Guy Ritchie directs the first two episodes and executive produces.

The series is created for television and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill with executive producers Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, Colin Wilson, and co-executive producers Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson. Motive Pictures led physical production for Young Sherlock.

Ang ginawa n’ya, ni-repost n’ya ang X post niya noong October na, “What keeps my heart strong is knowing that God knows my heart.

“People can say whatever they want, they can make stories or judge without knowing the truth but at the end of the day, God sees everything and that’s enough for me.

“Kasi as long as my intentions are pure and my heart is right, I don’t have to explain myself to anyone.”

Sey n’ya, “Ay, kilala ko to, e, sikat to, e. Sikat to e, artista to e.”
