GET ready to be pumped up as the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) approved the public exhibition of the animated fantasy films “Smurfs” and “Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales,” giving it a PG (Parental Guidance) classification.
Rated PG means the film is generally suitable for children under 13 years old, provided they are accompanied by a parent or supervising adult.
“This ensures that families can enjoy PG-rated films together while promoting responsible viewing,” said MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio.
Smurfs features new music by international superstar Rihanna and brings back the beloved blue characters to the big screen in a fresh adventure.
Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Art World Tales follows the adventure of Nobita and his friends as they enter the world of paintings and journey to the Kingdom of Artoria, a realm that resembles medieval Europe.
Meanwhile, the American action comedy, “Bride Hard,” has been rated R-13, making it suitable for 13 and above.
It tells the story of a secret agent serving as the maid of honor at her childhood best friend’s lavish wedding, who is taken hostage by mercenaries.
Due to mature themes and frightening scenes, the Australian supernatural horror, “Bring Her Back,” and the South American thriller, “Shaman: The Final Exorcism,” both earned an R-16 (Restricted-16) rating, suitable for 16 and above only.
The MTRCB remains committed to guiding Filipino families through its age appropriate ratings and classifications to help viewers foster a culture of responsible viewing.
