SSS, pinaalalahanan ang mga pensioners ng kanilang March 31 deadline

PINAALALAHANAN ng Social Security System (SSS) ang kanilang mga pensiyonado ng deadline para sa pagsunod sa Annual Confirmation of Pensioners’ Program (ACOP) na nakatakda sa Marso 31, 2022.

“All pensioners who have not yet complied with the ACOP for the calendar year 2021 are required to do so on or before March 31, 2022,” ayon sa SSS.

“Complying with the ACOP ensures the continuous payment of benefits to pensioners,” dagdag napahayag nito.

Dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic, sinuspinde ang ACOP mula Marso 2020 hanggang Setyembre 2021. Nagpatuloy lamang ito noong Oktubre 1, 2021, ayon pa rin sa SSS.

“For over one and a half years, we have continuously granted our pensioners their respective pensions without the corresponding reporting under the ACOP since they are high-risk individuals to the virus,” ang pahayag ni SSS president and CEO Aurora Ignacio.

“We have then resumed the implementation of this program last October 1, 2021, and to make up for the suspension period, we have given all covered pensioners, except those who already complied for CY 2021, a period of six (6) months or until March 31, 2022, to submit their compliance through online and alternative methods that are designed for their safety and convenience,” dagdag na pahayag ni Ignacio.

Ang mga pensiyonado na mabibigong sumunod ay pansamantalang hindi makatatanggap ng kanilang pensiyon kung saan ay sisimulan ito sa kanilang May 2022 pensions.

“Retirement pensioners residing in the Philippines are not required to comply with ACOP effective October 30, 2017, but are subject to other verification processes, if applicable,” ayon sa SSS.

Samantala, simula Abril 1, 2022, susunod ang SSS sa kadalasang schedule of compliance sa ACOP.

“Starting April 1, 2022, we will follow the usual schedule of compliance for the program, wherein retirement pensioners residing abroad, and total disability pensioners must comply on their birth month; survivor pensioners must comply within the birth month of the deceased member; while dependents and guardians must comply on the birth month of the member or deceased member, whichever is applicable. Non-compliance to this will also lead to the temporary suspension of their pensions,” ayon kay Ignacio.

Maaari rin naman aniyang gawin ng mas maaga ng mga pensiyonado ang pagsusumite ng kanilang requirements o anim na buwan bago pa ang itinakdang iskedyul.

“They may submit their documents via email, mail or courier, or drop box at the nearest SSS branch,” ani Ignacio.

Maaari rin aniyang magpadala ng written request ang mga pensiyonado sa SSS para sa home visit, o request for appointment para sa video conference.

Gilas todo kayod na sa ensayo

PUKPUKAN na sa ensayo ang Gilas Pilipinas para paghandaan ang first window ng FIBA World Cup Qualifiers na papalo sa Pebrero 24 hanggang 28 sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Kasama na ng Gilas Pilipinas pool ang mga players ng Talk ’N Text Tropang Giga matapos ang mga laro nito sa PBA Season 46 Govenors’ Cup.

Pinag-aaralan na ni Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes kung sinu-sino ang ipapasok nito sa Final 12. Sa ngayon, wala pa itong napipisil para sa final roster.

Inaasahang ihahayag ito ng veteran mentor ilang araw bago magsimula ang qualifiers.

“We still haven’t made up our mind who’s going to make any kind of final roster. So now, we can put in our effort and my 100% focus on figuring out. We may just want to put in some fundamentals for the team, make sure we would be able to put in a competitive team for the window,” ani Reyes.

Sa kasalukuyan, may 22 players ang nasa pool ng Gilas Pilipinas.

Pasok sa pool sina Tropang Giga players Jayson Castro, Poy Erram, Kelly Wiilliams, Troy Rosario, Ryan Reyes at Kib Montalbo kasama sina Gilas cadets Lebron Lopez, Dwight Ramos, Thirdy Ravena, Juan Gomez de Liaño, Will Navarro at naturalized player Angelo Kouame.

Ayon kay Reyes, pagbabasehan nito ang huling limang araw ng training ng Gilas Pilipinas para madetermina ang final roster para sa qualifiers.

Makakaharap ng Gilas sa naturang torneo ang South Korea sa Pebrero 24 at Pebrero 28 gayundin ang India (Pebrero 25) at New Zealand (Pebrero 27).

“We’re going to look at the last five days of practice as our final preparation for the task at hand,” ani Reyes.

PDu30, hindi pisikal na makakasama sa pangangampanya ng mga senatorial bets

HINDI pisikal na makakasama si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa pangangampanya ng kanyang mga inendorsong kandidato sa pagka-senador para sa May 9 elections.

Ang katwiran ni acting Presidential spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ay “there are no official entries set yet in his calendar.”

Sa kasalukuyan, ang Pangulo ay abala sa kanyang trabaho.

“Okay naman si Pangulo busy with work. But with regard to physically joining mga senatorial candidates ay wala pong official entries in his official calendar to that effect,” ani Nograles.

Suportado naman ni Pangulong Duterte ang senatorial bids nina dating chief presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo, dating senador JV Ejercito, at dating Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) chairperson Greco Belgica.

Hanggang sa kasalukuyan, hindi pa nage-endorso ang Pangulo ng kahit na sinumang presidential candidate para sa nalalapit na halalan sa bansa.

“Well, balikan natin ‘no iyong sinabi ni Pangulo in his previous ‘Talk to the People’ address and I quote: ‘At this time, I am saying that I am not supporting anybody unless there is a compelling reason really for me to change my mind and decide to support a candidate.’ So, so far, ganoon pa rin po ang stand ni Pangulo ,” ayon kay Nograles. 13 babae patay matapos mahulog balon sa India

PATAY ang 13 babae matapos aksidenteng mahulog sa isang balon sa pagdiriwang ng kasal sa Northern India.

Nakaupo ang mga biktima sa isang bakal na nakatakip sa balon nang bumigay ito.

Sinabi ng Mahistrado ng Distrito na si S. Rajalingam na luma na ang balon at hindi nakaya ang bigat ng mga nakaupo sa pantakip nito.

Ang mga kababaihan at mga bata ay nagtipon upang makilahok sa isang ritwal ng kasal sa kanilang nayon.

Tinawag ni Prime Minister Narendra Modi ang aksidente ay “nakapanghihina ng loob”.

Nagtulungan naman ang local administration para sa biktima.

Ang mga kasal sa India ay madalas na mga engrandeng gawain na may malaking bilang ng mga bisita at marangyang mga seremonya na tumatakbo nang ilang araw.

Noong 2017, 24 na kasalan ang napatay sa hilagang-kanlurang estado ng Rajasthan nang bumagsak ang isang pader sa kanila habang may bagyo.

PNP, mino-monitor ang mga taong inuugnay sa Hamas ukol sa ‘terror plot’ -DILG

MAY ilang katao na ang mino-monitor ngayon ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na di umano’y may kaugnayan sa napaulat na plano ng Middle East-based Hamas militant group na mag-operate sa Pilipinas.

“Those people mentioned in the report are now under surveillance and monitoring,” ayon kay Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año.

Tinukoy ni Año ang report na isinumite sa kanya ng PNP kamakailan.

Gayunman, hindi naman nito binanggit kung ilang indibidwal ang mino-monitor ng PNP na sinasabing sangkot sa nasabing terror plot.

“The PNP Intelligence Group is into this, they’re monitoring the movement of these Filipinos who are reportedly (involved),” ani Año, sabay sabing nakipag-ugnayan na ang DILG sa Anti-Terrorism Council.

Habang naniniwala siya na ang terror plot ay na-preempt na, patuloy naman ang intelligence personnel sa kanilang pagmo-monitor at pangangalap ng mahahalagang impormasyon ukol sa nasabing bagay.

“There are no indicators that they are really on the verge of implementing it (plan to establish foothold). It’s still information that is being acted upon by the intelligence community,” ayon sa Kalihim.

Sa ulat, napigilan ng Philippine National Police-Intelligence Group (PNP-IG) ang planong paghahasik ng kaguluhan sa bansa ng Hamas, isang terrorist group na aktibo sa Gaza Strip at West Bank ng Palestine.

Sa report ni Intelligence Group director B/Gen Neil Alinsangan kay M/Gen. Michael John Dubria, PNP Director for Intelligence, plano ng Hamas ang pag-atake sa mga Israeli sa bansa, pagsagawa ng mga kilos protesta sa Israeli Embassy, at pagpapakalat ng mga propaganda materials laban sa Israel.

Natuklasan aniya ng IG ang ginagawang recruitment ng Hamas ng mga Pilipino mula sa mga local terrorist groups na siyang gagamitin para sa paghahasik ng kaguluhan.

Sinabi ni Alinsangan na kinilala ng kanilang Pinoy source ang Hamas operative na si “Bashir” o Fares Al Shikli na umano’y nagtangkang mag-establisa ng foothold sa Pilipinas na nangakong magbigay suporta sa ilang mga local terrorist groups sa bansa.

Pinuno rin ito ng Hamas Foreign Liaison Section, at nakalista sa Interpol Red Notice dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa terorismo.

Babala ni Alinsangan sa mga terrorist groups, hindi sila magtatagumpay sa kanilang plano sa bansa dahil binabantayan na sila ng PNP at Armed Forces of the Philippines. (Daris Jose)

Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes sabik na makasama ang 16-anyos Fil-Am na si Caelum Harris

NAGPAHAYAG ng kasabikan si Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes na makitang sumabak kasama ang 16-anyos na Filipino American at 6’7″ Caelum Harris.

Ito ay matapos na ianunsiyo ng Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas (SBP) na makakasama agad si Harris sa Gilas Pilipinas National Team program.

Inaasahan na sa buwan ng Marso ay makikibahagi na si Harris sa mga ensayo ng national basketball team para sa paghahanda nila sa 2023 FIBA World Cup na isa ang Pilipinas sa magiging host.

Sinabi ni SBP President Al Panlilio na nasa tamang landas ngayon si Harris sa pagsali niya sa Gilas Pilipinas program.

Mula sa Marigondon, Cebu si Harris na naninirahan na ngayon sa Nashville, Tennessee.

Labis naman na ikinatuwa ng mga kaanak nito sa Cebu ang pagsali ni Harris sa Gilas Pilipinas basketball team.

DILG sa mga LGUs:’Pagtibayin ang ordinansang nagbabawal sa pagbebenta ng mga gamot sa mga sari-sari stores’

HINIMOK ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año ang mga local government units (LGUs) na pagtibayin ang ordinansang nagbabawal sa pagbebenta ng mga gamot sa mga sari sari stores.

Ito ay kasunod s paglaganao ng mga pekeng gamot sa mga maliliit na retail stores.

Inatasan din ni Sec Año ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na agad arestuhin ang mga lumalabag na patuloy na iginigiit ang pagbebenta ng mga gamot lalo na yung mga peke.

Sisiguraduhin din ng PNP na kanilang imomonitor ang mga tindahan na nagbebenta ng mga gamot.

Ayon kay Sec. Año dapat protektahan ng mga LGUs ang health and welfare ng kanilang mga constituents, kaya dapat siguraduhin ng mga ito na hindi nagbebenta ng mga gamot ang mga sari sari stores dahil sa ilalim ng batas hindi sila otorisado.

Sa ilalim ng Section 30 ng Republic Act (RA) No. 10918 ang Philippine Pharmacy Act, only Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-licensed retail drug outlets or pharmacies ang pinapayagang magbenta ng gamot para sa consuming public.

Siniguro ni Año ang suporta sa FDA at maglalabas ng Memorandum Circular (MC) sa mga LGUs para itigil na ang pagbebenta ng mga gamot sa mga sari-sari stores at iba pang outlets other outlets without FDA authorization.

Panawagan naman ng kalihim sa publiko na bumili ng gamot sa mga drug store o pharmacies na otorisadong magbenta.

Ayon kay Año nakakatakot at delikado ang mga pekeng gamot lalo at nasa gitna pa rin tayo ng pandemya.

Ang mga mahuhuling nagbebenta ng mga pekeng gamot ay sasampahan ng kasong paglabag sa RA No. 8203 or the Special Law on Counterfeit Drugs.

SUGATAN ang limang indibidwal kabilang ang isang babae nang mistulang naghuramentado ang isang lasing na truck driver matapos na nagtalo dahil lamang sa nagkasagian ng balikat sa Tagaytay City Huwebes ng gabi.

Isinugod sa Ospital ng Tagaytay ang biktimang sina Jorgie Bagay y Legaspi, (babae), 41; Jan Rishan Fajardo y Cortez, 19; Ron Justine Bagay y Legaspi, 19; Francis Aala y Anacay, 19; at Cedrick Javier y Delos Reyes, 18, pawang residente ng Brgy Kaybagal, Tagaytay City; dahil sa tinamong sugat sa katawan mula sa saksak ng suspek na si Silvestre Pelayo y Tiquin, 41, isang truck driver.

Sa ulat ni PSSgt Archie Paclibar ng Tagaytay City Police, alas-9:45 kamakalawa ng gabi habang kapwa naglalakad ang suspek at Javier sa Purok 63, Brgy Kaybagal Central, Tagaytay City nang nagkasigaan ang kanilang balikat.

Dahil nakainum ang suspek, nagalit at kinompronta nito si Javier at dahil malapit lang ang bahay ng kaibigan na pupuntahan nito, nagsumbong ang huli kaya sumaklolo ang apat.

Dito na nagkaroon ng mainitang pagtatalo sa pagitan ng mga biktima at suspek hanggang sa nauwi sa suntukan at dahil may dalang balisong ang suspek, mistulang naghuramentado ito at iwinasiwas sa mga biktima na dahilan ng kanilang mga sugat.

Dinismiss agad ng source namin ang thought na baka kaya lang magpu-propose na si Arjo kay Maine dahil tumatakbo ito ngayon bilang Congressman ng Quezon City.

So, para mas bumango sa kampanya.

Hindi raw ‘yon ang reason. Talagang plano na raw ni Arjo na mag-propose kay Maine. In-love raw talaga ang dalawa sa isa’t-isa at siguro naman nga, sa ilang taon na nila in a relationship, napatunayan na nila na seryoso talaga sila sa isa’t-isa.

Channing Tatum Says His New Movie Was Inspired By Road Trip With His Dying Dog

AMERICAN actor and producer Channing Tatum said that his new film, Dog, was inspired by the last road trip he took with his dying dog, Lulu.

Dog is an American comedy, now showing in theaters, and will mark Tatum’s directorial debut. It also marks his return to acting, after he stepped out of the spotlight for several years to recharge. Tatum is best known for his roles in Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street, and Step Up.

Dog follows U.S. Army Ranger Jackson Briggs (Tatum) who is tasked with bringing a dog, Lulu, down the Pacific Coast to attend her handler’s funeral. Lulu is a Belgian Malinois military dog, whose owner is a fallen soldier. However, Briggs and Lulu don’t exactly get along and manage to wreak quite some havoc on their road trip together.

The film also stars Jane Adams, Kevin Nash, Q’orianka Kilcher, Ethan Suplee, and Emmy Raver-Lampman. As reviews start to come in for Dog, Tatum is opening up on what inspired his road trip drama.

In his interview with Yahoo!, he revealed that Dog was inspired by the loss of his own dog, Lulu, and their last road trip together.

In 2018, Lulu, a pit bull Catahoula mix, was diagnosed with cancer, causing Tatum to head out for one last road trip with her. The road trip served as his acknowledgement that there wasn’t anything he could do, besides soak up every last moment he had left with Lulu.

While it was his loss that inspired Dog, Tatum chose to make a film that focused on the beginning of an owner’s relationship with a dog and the creation of lasting memories.

The popular actor says: Developing it [Dog] and really talking about what dogs mean and what dogs mean to specifically me, or to soldiers, or to anyone really, and primarily we landed on this word ‘surrender’. And that was to me really what I had to learn. When I went on my last road trip with my puppy, [I experienced] that feeling of, ‘There’s nothing I can do. There’s nothing left to do.’ You just have to accept it and be thankful for the time that you did get and know that they’re not supposed to be here forever. I’m supposed to go on and she has to go someplace else.

Tatum’s return to acting in Dog has received praise from critics, who said that his five years away from leading roles hasn’t diminished his acting ability at all.

The film also received some criticism for being misguided and not adequately investigating various military-related issues, despite diverting from the comedic tone to touch on them briefly. The sentiment Dog captures on the companionship between a dog and man, still serve to create several touching and powerful moments in the film.

Dog‘s themes on the bond between a dog and its owner are made more powerful with Tatum’s story in mind. While there are plenty of feel-good stories out there about dogs, few truly examine the loss of a dog or the loss of a dog’s owner. However, these losses do occur, and the grief that dog owners experience is very real and painful. What Tatum’s film Dog does, is offer healing without making owners relive the grief and loss.

Dog allows viewers to reminisce on their own fun adventures and the friendships they built with their dogs. For both those who own dogs or have lost dogs, the film is a celebration of a dog’s life and relationship with humans that is made all the sweeter with Tatum’s story of his own Lulu.
