Zaldy Co, pinigil sa German border matapos pumasok mula sa Czech Republic- PBBM

SINABI ni Pagulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., araw ng Biyernes na pinigil si dating Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co sa German border matapos pumasok mula saCzech Republic.
Isang araw bago ianunsyo ng Pangulo ang pag-aresto kay Zaldy Co, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas sa mga opisyal ng Czech.
“Our coordination with Czech authorities continues. The latest information confirms that Zaldy Co was stopped at the German border after entering from the Czech Republic,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang social media post.
“He was denied entry and returned to Czech authorities, where he remains in custody,” aniya pa rin.
Sa ulat, ang pugante at dating mambabatas na si Zaldy Co ay inaresto sa Prague para sa diumano’y ilegal na entry, kinumpirma ng Malakanyang, araw ng Huwebes.
Sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez na si Co ay kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Czech Republic, at ang mga awtoridad ng Pilipinas ay nakikipagtulungan sa Czech authorities upang ayusin ang pagbabalik ni Co sa Pilipinas.
“We confirm that Zaldy Co was detained in Prague for crossing into the Czech Republic without proper documentation. He is presently in Czech custody,” ani Gomez sa isang pahayag.
Ang presidente ng Pilipinas na si Ferdinand Marcos Jr. inanunsyo rin ang pagkakaaresto ni Co sa isang social media post.
“We are in close coordination with the Czech government to ensure that all legal processes are followed and to arrange for his return to the Philippines at the soonest possible time,” ang sinabi ni Gomez.
“We will keep the public informed as developments unfold,” aniya pa rin.
Si Co, ang dating chair ng House Committee on Appropriations na pinamumunuan ang pambansang badyet ng Pilipinas, ay nasangkot sa diumano’y mga iregularidad kaugnay ng flood control projects.
Siya ay idineklarang pugante na tumatakas mula sa hustisya matapos mabigo na magpakita sa hurisdiksyon ng Sandiganbayan, na nag-isyu ng arrest warrant laban sa kanya at iba pang mga tao noong Nobyembre 2025 dahil sa diumano’y mga iregularidad sa multi-million road dike project sa Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
