Matutuloy na…Pinaka-aabangang impeachment trial ni VP Sara Duterte sa July 6 na

AYON kay House impeachment trial spokesperson Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, matutuloy na ang pinaka – aabangang impeachment trial ni VP Sara Duterte sa July 6 dahil natapos at nakumpleto na ang pre trial proceedings na ginanap sa Senado.

 “Ang pagtatapos po ng pre-trial conference ay isang malaking hudyat na wala pong maaaring hadlang sa pag-umpisa ng actual impeachment trial sa nalalapit na July 6 na naaayon sa ating Saligang Batas,” pahayag ni Adiong sa isang press briefing. 

Ayon kay Adiong, ang prosecution ay naghahanda na isumite ang kanilang komento matapos ang pre-trial conference na natapos Huwebes ng gabi.

Idinagdag ni Legal spokesperson Atty. Benjamin “Jay” Tolosa Jr. na ang prosecution ay nakumpleto ang limang araw na pre-trial proceedings mula June 18, June 22 hanggang 25, kaya tuluyang uusad ang impeachment case.

“The good news is that with the completion of the pre-trial proceedings, the impeachment trial is now set to commence on July 6,” sinabi ni Tolosa. 

Sa ginanap na pre-trial proceedings, nakumpleto ng prosecution at defense panel ang pagmamarka ng documentary exhibits, kung sino ang mga tetestigo, at iba pang dapat gawin bilang preparasyon sa gagawing impeachment trial sa Senado.

“We welcome this (completion of pre trial as an) important milestone because it allows the constitutional process to move forward and gives the Filipino people the opportunity to hear the evidence, examine the facts, and know the truth through a fair, transparent, and orderly trial,” sabi ni Tolosa.

Nagpaabot ng pasasalamat si Tolosa sa Secretariat of the Senate impeachment court sa ginawang tulong sa prosecution at defense panel na makumpleto ang pre-trial process sa gitna ng dami ng dokumento na isusumite bilang ebidensya.

“We express our sincere appreciation to the Secretariat of the Impeachment Court for its guidance and accommodations that it extended to both parties, which enabled us to complete this extensive process despite the thousands of documentary exhibits involved, particularly those relating to the articles of impeachment, unexplained wealth, and confidential funds,” sabi ni Tolosa. 

Natapos ang pre-trial conference nitong Huwebes, sampung araw bago pormal na isagawa ang impeachment trial sa July 6.

Ayon kay Adiong, may natitirang sampung araw ang mga senador na maghanda sa paghuhukom, “maririnig, makikita, at masusuri ang ebidensya ng bawat panig na naaayon sa prinsipyo ng due process.” 

“Ang taumbayan po ay nakikinig, nagbabantay at nagmamatyag. Deserve nila ang katotohanan at pawang katotohanan lamang. At iyan po ang panata ng prosecution team. Ang ilatag ang katotohanan at pawang katotohanan lamang sa sambayanang Pilipino sa nalalapit na paglilitis kay Vice President Sara Duterte,” dagdag ng kongresista.
