P17.6-billion budget ng ahensiyang DICT sa taong 2027 sinuportahan ng mga mambabatas

SINUPORTAHAN ng mga mambabatas ang mga programa ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa pagtatapos ng deliberasyon sa P17.6-billion budget ng ahensiya sa taong 2027.

Ilan sa mga programa ng DICT na sinuportahan ng mga miyembro ng House Committee on Appropriations ay mas malawak na digital access, cybersecurity and good governance, ayon kay committee vice chairman FPJ PANDAY BAYANIHAN Partylist Rep. Brian Poe.

Nanawagan si Poe sa DICT na tapusin ang digitalization efforts nito para sa reliable at affordable connectivity, secure data systems, responsableng paggamit ng artificial intelligence, at mas malinaw na serbisyo publiko.

Binigyan diin ni Poe ang kahalagahan ng digital transformation. “Ang digital transformation ay hindi lang tungkol sa mas mabilis na internet. Dapat may trabaho, negosyo, oportunidad at mas mahusay na serbisyo na kasunod nito,” aniya.

Sinabi ni DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda na pag-iibayuhin ng ahensiya ang mga nasabing priority programs nito,

“At the DICT, we believe that every peso invested in ICT must translate into concrete and meaningful benefits for the Filipino,” sabi ni Aguda.

Kabilang sa mga alokasyon sa budget ng DICT ang P5 billion Free Public Internet Access Program, P2.16 billion para sa Philippine Digital Infrastructure Project (PDIP), P1.13 billion para sa National Broadband Program (NBP), at P949.5 million para sa National Government Data Center Infrastructure. 

Naglaan din ng P1.84 billion sa DICT budget para sa implementasyon ng E-Governance Act, P1.39 billion for Digital Government Development and Management, at P1.09 billion para sa cybersecurity information infrastructure. (VINA de GUZMAN)
