GINUGULO ng defense panel ang impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa senado, ayon kay Kabataan Partylist Rep. Renee Co, tagapagsalita ng House prosecution team.

“Tunay ngang sa bibig nahuhuli ang isda. Sa depensa na mismo nanggaling, dapat daw i-allow ang mga tanong nilang ‘misleading’. This clearly shows their strategy for the entire process of the impeachment trial,” sinabi ni Co kaugnay sa mga ulat na dapat daw pahintulutan ang mga “misleading questions” sa cross examination ng testigo.

Kinondena ni Co ang pahayag ni VP Duterte na binabaluktot ang batas sa kanyang paglilitis sa impeachment court sa senado.

“Hindi na ito nakakagulat. What can we expect from a defense panel whose client apparently does not recognize the institutional process being afforded to her? ‘Bending the law’ daw ang ginagawa sa impeachment court ng senado. Bakit hindi siya humarap at sa paglilitis mismo maghabol ng mga saloobin niya?” tanong ni Co.

Ayon kay Co, si VP Duterte mismo ang bumabaluktot sa batas, “lalo na sa kanyang kuwestiyonableng paggasta ng Confidential and Intelligence Funds.”

“Ultimately, kung may dapat sitahin ang Impeachment Court, si VP Sara iyon…one court, one standard. Kung bawal bastusin ang Impeachment Court, dapat bawal para sa lahat,” sinabi ni Co. (VINA de GUZMAN)
