Pagpapaliban ng BSKE, panawagan ni Leyte Rep. Richard Gomez

NANAWAGAN si Leyte Rep. Richard Gomez na i-postpone ang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) upang masiguro ang kredibilidad at maayos na eleksyon sa gitna ng umiiral na hamon sa politika ng bansa.

Sa inihaing House Bill No. 10591, nanawagan si Gomez sa mga kapwa niya mambabatas na suportahan ang kanyang panukala na ipagpaliban ang BSKE sa November 2, 2026 patungo sa huling araw ng Lunes sa November 2028.

Ayon kay Gomez, may counterpart bill ang Senado na nanawagan ng pagpaliban ng BSKE.

“I am hopeful that both the House of Representatives and the Senate will act decisively on this measure. When both chambers recognize the urgency of an issue, we move one step closer to meaningful and responsible legislation,” sinabi ni Gomez.

Iginiit ni Gomez na hindi dapat apurahin ang BSKE at sa halip ay dapat itong paghandaan nang husto.

Aniya, ang nangyayaring krisis sa enerhiya sa buong mundo ay lubhang makakaapekto sa pagdaraos ng eleksyon dahil sa gastusin nito.

“The strength of our democracy is measured not by how quickly we hold elections, but by how credible, orderly, and inclusive those elections are. This is a measure that puts the national interest and the Filipino people first,” sabi ng kongresista. (VINA de GUZMAN)
