Ube, pinadedeklarang National Priority Crop ni Leyte 4th District Rep. Richard Gomez

INIHAIN ni Leyte 4th District Rep. Richard Gomez ang House Bill No. 10225, para sa development, promotion, at protection ng Philippine ube industry.
Layon nitong gawing isang globally competitive agricultural product ang ube habang nagbibigay ng mas maraming oportunidad sa mga magsasakang pilipino at komunidad.
Tatawaging Philippine Ube Industry Development Act, pinadedeklara nito ang ube bilang National Priority Crop, magbuo ng Philippine Ube Industry Council, at palakasin ang research, production, processing, branding, at export promotion.
Matagal-tagal na rin aniyang kinikilala ang bansa sa produksyon ng world-class ube, subalit hindi nabebenipisyuhan ng buo ang magsasakang Pinoy mula dito.
“Ube is more than a beloved Filipino delicacy—it is part of our culture, our identity, and a valuable agricultural resource. It is time that we invest in our farmers and build an industry that will allow them to earn more while showcasing the best of the Philippines to the world,” ani Gomez.
Sa panukala, maglalaan ng suporta ang gobyerno para sa de kalidad na planting materials, research and development, post-harvest facilities, processing, financing, quality standards, market access, at export promotion.
