Nagpahayag ng buong suporta si Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa patuloy na implementation ng zero-balance billing initiative ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.

Ikinatuwa din nito ang ulat ng Department of Health (DOH) na ang bilang ng nakinabang sa nasabing polisiya ay nasa 298,221 pasyente na katumbas sa P26.4 bilyong combined hospital charges para sa pasyenteng na-admit sa ilalim ng basic accommodation ng DOH-run hospitals.

Matapos mabanggit ng pangulo ang inisyatibo sa kanyang nakalipas na State of the Nation Address (SONA) noong Hulyo, pinalawig ng DOH ang coverage mula 22 sa mahigit na 80 ospital sa buong bansa,

“The impressive amplification of the zero-balance billing policy is further proof of the President’s tireless commitment to ensure that all Filipinos have access to health care services and treatment without having to spend a single peso. The House of the People fully supports this laudable initiative, and we are committed to allocating the resources necessary to guarantee its continued implementation and wider access,” anang speaker.

Sa patuloy aniya na pagpapatupad ng zero-balance billing sa mga DOH hospitals sa mga susunod pang taon, tiwala ito na makakahinga nang mas maluwag ang ating mga pasyente at kanilang pamilya.

“Hindi na sila mag-aatubiling magpatingin at magpagamot dahil sa takot sa gastusin,” pahayag nito.

Ang inisyatibo ay pinondohan ng Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients program, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation at direct allocations sa DOH hospitals, bukod pa sa the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.
