“There was no need for insults, innuendo, and personal barbs. What the moment required were rational arguments, not reckless theatrics. Sadly, her language was more appropriate for a kindergarten playground, not a legislative chamber. Isipin nyo naman. Nasa records ng Senado yan. Her words will now have a place side by side with the eloquent and elegant sentences of greats like Sen. Claro M. Recto. Nakakahiya,” ani Abante.
“Respecting one another is not just a matter of etiquette. It contributes to more constructive governance. The people expect us to conduct ourselves with professionalism, not pettiness. That’s the least they deserve from those entrusted with public office,” pagtatapos ni Abante. (Vina de Guzman)
