Impeachment secretariat, binuo para sa mga prosecutors

PORMAL nang binuo ng Kamara ang Impeachment Secretariat upang siyang maglalaan ng technical at administrative support sa public prosecutors na siyang hahawak sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte, na nakapaloob sa Memorandum Order No. 19-1006 (SG) na inisyu ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.

“The House Secretariat plays a vital role in ensuring the orderly conduct of legislative proceedings, including impeachment trials. This directive ensures that the prosecution team has access to essential logistical, research, and documentation support to facilitate a smooth and efficient trial process,” ani Velasco.

Ang Impeachment Secretariat ay bubuuin ng mga personnel mula sa iba’t ibang opisina ng Kongreso, kabilang na ang Office of the Secretary General, Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, Legislative Operations Department, Legal Affairs Department, at iba pang units.

Bahagi ng kanilang tungkulin ay ang pagbibigay ng plenary support, legal research, records management, stenographic transcription, information technology, security, at administrative coordination.

“This is a routine function aligned with our constitutional duty. The House Secretariat remains neutral and professional in fulfilling its mandate,” dagdag ni Velasco.

Upang masiguro ang accountability, ang lahat ng personnel na nakatalaga sa senado ay magtatala ng kanilang attendance sa pamamagitan ng designated HousePass monitoring system, at ang kanilang schedules ay pangangasiwaan ng kani-kanilang kaukulang opisina.

“As the impeachment process moves forward, the Impeachment Secretariat will continue to provide the necessary support to uphold the integrity of the proceedings,” pahayag ni Velasco. (Vina de Guzman)
