Kakulangan ng deklarasyon ng holiday, nagpapakita na nais ng CPP-NPA- NDF ng karahasan – Año

SINABI ni National Security Adviser (NSA) Eduardo Año na ang deklarasyon ng Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) na walang holiday truce ay malinaw na hangad nito na pagnanais na magdulot ng kalituhan at karahasan.

“(This) simply reflects their persistent commitment to violence and armed struggle, further isolating themselves from the Filipino people’s aspirations for peace and security,” ayon sa kalatas.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Año, na ang deklarasyon ng communist insurgents ay isang “empty declaration” dahil nabawasan na sila ngayon at naging isang ‘single weakened guerrilla front.’

“Such reduction already makes them incapable of launching major operations against security forces or recruiting new members,” ang sinabi ni Año.

“This dramatic decline is the result of sustained government efforts under the banner of NTF- ELCAC (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict) and supported by communities to neutralize insurgency and foster inclusive development,” ang sinabi pa rin nito.

Binigyang diin nito na ang peace-building ay nangangailangan ng katapatan at ang aksyon ng CPP-NPA-NDF ay patuloy na nagpapakita ng kakulangan ng sinseridad at commitment sa kapayapaan.

“We call on the Filipino people to unite in rejecting violence and supporting programs that promote peace and development. No ideology rooted in violence and armed struggle will be allowed to threaten the progress and aspirations of the Filipino people,” ang winika ni Año.

Sa kabila nito. tinuran ni Añona ipagpapatuloy ng gobyerno na tutukan ang military operations para durugin ang mga natitirang rebeldeng CPP-NPA-NDF upang sa gayon ay maaaring I-enjoy ng mga mamamayang filipino ang mapayapa at maayos na holiday season ngayong Disyembre. ( Daris Jose)
