380 Pinoy sa Ukraine, hinikayat na makipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Embassy

HINIKAYAT ng Philippine diplomats sa Warsaw, Poland ang 400 Filipino sa Ukraine na agad na makipag-ugnayan sa embahada para sa anumang hindi kanais-nais na insidente sa kanilang lugar sa gitna ng ulat na napipintong Russian invasion.

“The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw closely monitors the situation of the approximately 380 Filipino nationals living in Ukraine, most of whom are in Kyiv and its environs and are therefore located far from the eastern border near Russia,” ayon sa kalatas ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

May hurisdiksyon kasi ang Manila embassy sa Warsaw sa Ukraine.

Ang pag-atake ng Russia sa Ukraine “could come within days,” ayon sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno ng Estados Unidos.

Sinabi ni Jake Sullivan, national security adviser ni US President Joe Biden na “signs of Russian escalation, including new forces arriving at the Ukrainian border,” adding that a major assault could be launched “during the Olympics,” na nakatakdang magtapos sa Pebrero 20.

Tiniyak naman ng DFA na ang embahada ng Pilipinas ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga Filipino sa Ukraine, nakikipag-ugnayan sa Honorary Consulate General sa Kyiv.

“They are encouraged to contact the embassy, report any untoward incident they might observe in their respective areas, and continue monitoring their Filipino friends through social media,” ayon sa DFA.

“Hotline numbers of the embassy and Consulate General have been disseminated to the Filipino community,” dagdag nito.

Ang Pilipinas ay mayroong umiiral na labor deployment ban sa mga Filipino na papuntang Ukraine. (Daris Jose)
