“Treat all the vaccines as the same” sa pamamahagi ng COVID-19 vaccines sa LGUs

“Treat all the vaccines as the same.”

Ito ang bilin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte kay vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., sa kanyang Talk To The People, Miyerkules ng gabi kapag namahagi na ng COVID-19 vaccines sa Local Government Units (LGUs).

“Keep a blind eye to brands when distributing COVID-19 vaccines to local governments to avoid disputes about vial preferences that will prolong the process,” aniya pa rin.

Ang paliwanag ng Pangulo, hindi malayong magkaubusan ng suplay ng bakuna kapag hinayaan na mamili ng isang bakuna ang nais na magpaturok nito laban sa Covid -19.

“Is there any superiority among the vaccines that are being injected now on people? Is there one that’s superior? Because, you know, once you choose one and there is a study or somebody saying that this vaccine is far more superior than what is being given, there’s a problem there,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.

“So you choose: I’ll have Astra[Zeneca]. And the others who want that may not be able to get that anymore because it’s been used up. That’s where we have a problem. Well, if you look at it, really look at it, it’s discriminatory,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Bilang tugon, sinabi naman ni Galvez na kailagan na masunod ang naging kautusan ng Chief Executive.

“Sir, we will implement that, sir. And as we have seen, the uptake by our citizens has been good no matter what we give them. They really line up for it.” ani Galvez.

“And as they have been saying, the most effective vaccine is the vaccine that we already have,” aniya pa rin.

“As of Wednesday,” ang pamahalaan ay nakapagbakuna na ng mahigit dalawang milyong katao na kabilang sa prioritized groups — gaya ng health workers, senior citizens, at mga taong may comorbidities. (Daris Jose)
