SA Instagram post ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta ipinaalam nito na magdi-detox muna siya sa social media at hindi muna gagamit ng cellphone.

“Hi, everyone! I will be taking a rest from Social Media and my phone will be off. I will only use the one phone I use for my family,” panimula ni Mega.

Say pa niya, “No contact with friends and co-workers—family lang talaga. I need to detox.”

Dagdag paliwanag pa ni Sharon tungkol sa kanyang post, “So I will be out of touch for several days. My mind and emotions are gonna take a vacation from everything extra!”

Panghuli pa niyang mensahe lalo na sa kanyang fans, “Love you all. See you again soon! God bless you always.”

Filipino Chinese Community, nag-mobilize ng P10 Million na tulong para sa mga biktima ng bagyo

BILANG pagpapahayag ng pagkakaisa at bayanihan, ang Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) inihayag noong Agosto 28 ay inihayag ang malawakang relief effort na nagkakahalaga ng sampung milyong piso (P10,000,000.00) para sa mga komunidad na sinalanta ng mga bagyo sa Luzon kamakailan.

Ang inisyatiba, na pinangunahan ng FFCCCII at ng “Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation,” sa pakikipagtulungan ng 30 pangunahing Filipino Chinese community associations, ay kinabibilangan ng pamamahagi ng essential goods at 50,000 pack ng 5-kilo bigas sa mga apektadong lungsod at lalawigan, kabilang ang Metro Manila, Baguio, Pangasinan, La Union, Tarlac, Bulacan, Palawan, at, Bulacan, Palawan.

Ang isang mahalagang bahagi ng pagsisikap na ito sa buong bansa ay isang naka-target, city-wide relief operation sa Quezon City, na isinagawa katuwang ang opisina ni Mayor Joy Belmonte at ang Philippine Star’s Operation Damayan na pinamumunuan ni Pangulong Miguel Belmonte.

Kasama sa iba pang dumalo sina District 2 Councilor Mikey Belmonte, District 4 Councilor Atty. Vincent Belmonte, Councilor Egay Yap, Councilor Raquel Malangen, Councilor Migz Suntay, Councilor Imee Rillo, Councilor Nanette Daza, Brgy. Chairman Dick Bañega at Operation Damayan team sa pangunguna ni PhilStar HR head Emie Cruz.

Ang Quezon City leg ay mula Agosto 28 hanggang 29, 2025, na kung saan namahagi ng mga relief packs sa anim na apektadong distrito, na kumakatawan sa isang nakatuong paglalaan ng tulong para sa mga residente ng lungsod.

Ang partnership ay pormal na inilunsad sa isang seremonya na ginanap sa Mabuhay Court ng Dr. Jose Jara Martinez High School sa Barangay Tatalon, District 4. Itinampok ng kaganapan ang turnover ng nakaraang isang milyong piso na donasyon mula sa FFCCCII sa Operation Damayan at nagsilbing kick-off para sa dalawang araw na distribution drive.

Si Mr. Jeffrey Ng, ang Executive Vice-President ng FFCCCII, ay humarap sa mga benepisyaryo at opisyal, na naghatid ng mensahe ng pag-asa at walang patid na suporta mula sa Filipino Chinese community.”

In-emphasize niya ang collaborative spirit of the mission, “We are pleased to join hands with the PhilStar Operation Damayan and the Quezon City government in this vital mission of compassion.”

Ibinahagi rin ni Mr. Ng na, “Driving by the spirit of bayanihan, our Federation, together with 30 generous Filipino Chinese community associations and the members of our Foundation, have mobilized in the past weeks… donating over P10 Million Pesos worth of essential goods and food supplies.”

In his eloquent appeal to those affected, he offered words of encouragement: “Nakikiusap po kami sa inyo: Huwag po kayong mawawalan ng pag-asa. Ang hamon ng panahon ay malaki, nugget mas malaki ang ating puso para magtulungan… Lubos po kaming naniniwala na ang pagkakaisa ang siyang sagot sa anumang pagsubok.”

Positive sa magiging pagtanggap sa kanilang serye: Direk MAC, aware na sikat ang tambalang JEROME at HEAVEN

AWARE si direk McArthur Alejandre na sikat ang tambalang Jerome Ponce at Heaven Peralejo na mga artista niya sa Viva One romance-drama series na I Love You Since 1892 na siya ang direktor.

“Ang galing-galing ng Viva.

“Without a network and just using their own infrastructure and the app, they were able to create this fandom, a very, very interesting fandom with a varied menu of artists.

“Ang husay-husay ng Viva.”

Sa tanong kung kinakabahan siya sa magiging reception ng publiko sa kanilang serye na eere na simula sa ika-6 ng Setyembre.

“Magagaling silang mga artista. Bilang isang beterano sa industriya, hindi lang ito labanan ng pasikatan kundi labanan ng patagalan.

“We tried very hard to be as true to the original material so yung lengguwahe ng original material ay may lalim pero may accessibility.

“Ganoon ang ginamit namin, tapos yung being true to the original material doesn’t mean merely sticking to it.

“It means speaking to it and translating it into visual terms.

“So, ito ay ayon kung ano ang pananaw ng produksiyon kung papaano palalawigin ang original material ni Binibining Mia.

“Gusto kong sabihin na lahat kami storytellers and we take our responsibility as storytellers seriously.

MARAMI ang humanga sa content creator na si Boss Toyo dahil sa sunud-sunod na pagbibigay niya ng tulong sa mga biktima ng sunud-sunod na bagyo at pati na rin ang Habagat na nanalanta sa iba’t-ibang lugar sa sa bansa.

“So, ipinagpapatuloy ko lang siya dire-diretso lang, basta may sobra at may mga tao ka, tumutulong sa mga outreach programs ko at charity works patuloy ko siyang ginagawa at gagawin pa natin.

“Bakit sa Mindoro ulit? Pangalawang beses na namin ‘to, last month sa Mindoro rin.

“Kasi doon ko nakita yung mga binibigyan doon is naa-appreciate nila. Kahit ano’ng ibigay mo sobrang nakikita ko sa kanila yung pagtanggap at pagpapasalamat.

“Yung mga ngiti nila tsaka yung saya talagang makikita mo na very genuine at napakasarap talagang tulungan.

“Kumbaga para sa akin perfect talaga na sila yung matulungan at sila yung mabigyan ng biyaya at tulong.

“At maraming-marami pa po silang kailangan bukod doon sa aming mga binigay.”

MULING nagluksa ang Philippine showbiz dahil sa pagpanaw ng award-winning film director na si Mike de Leon sa edad na 78.

Kabilang si Direk Mike sa mga naging direktor during the second Golden Age of Philippine Cinema noong ’70s kunsaan nakasabayan niya ang mga yumao ng mga direktor na sina Lino Brocka, Ishmael Bernal, Celso Ad Castillo, Marilou Diaz-Abaya, Mario O’Hara, Maryo J. delos Reyes, Romy Suzara, Augusto Buenaventura, Emmanuel Borlaza at Danny Zialcita.

Tanging sina Laurice Guillen at Lupita Kashiwahara na lang ang buhay na ka-batch ni Direk Mike.

Kontrobersyal at may malalalim na mensahe ang mga pelikula nita tulad ng Itim, Kisapmata, Sister Stella L, Batch ’81 at Bayaning Third World. Gumawa rin siya ng commercial films tulad ng Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising, Kakaba-Kaba Ka Ba? at Hindi Nahahati Ang Langit.

Nakatrabaho niya sina Vilma Santos, Christopher de Leon, Hilda Koronel, Jay Ilagan, Vic Silayan, Charo Santos, Charito Solis, Lorna Tolentino, Ricky Davao, Johnny Delgado, Gloria Romero, Mark Gil, Dina Bonnevie, Edu Manzano, APO Hiking Society, Joel Torre at iba pa.
