Administrasyong Trump, pinagtibay ang kahalagahan ng ‘trilateral cooperation’ sa Pinas, Japan

PINAGTIBAY ni US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ang commitment ng Estados Unidos na panatilihin ang trilateral cooperation nito sa Pilipinas at Japan sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni US President Donald Trump.

Muli itong inulit ni Rubio sa isinagawang bilateral meeting kasama si Japan’s Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi sa Washington DC noong Enero 22 (Manila time).

Sinabi ng Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, na “The two Ministers concurred on the importance of further developing coordination of like-minded countries, including Japan-US-Republic of Korea, Japan-Australia-India-US, and Japan-US-Philippines.”

Sinabi naman ng State Department na tinalakay ng dalawang opisyal kung paano ang Estados Unidos at Japan ay magkatuwang na magta-trabaho at kapit-bisig “to counter ongoing threats in the Indo-Pacific and around the world, including joint efforts against China’s destabilizing actions”.

Nauna rito, binigyang diin naman ng Tokyo ang pangangailangan para sa presensiya ng Estados Unidos sa Asya, lalo na sa gitna ng inilarawan nito bilang “increasingly severe strategic environment” sa rehiyon.

Sa kanyang naging pagbisita sa Maynila noong Enero 15, araw ng Miyerkules, sinabi ni Iwaya na ang trilateral Japan-US-Philippines relations ay “highly important framework” para maunawaan ang malaya at bukas na Indo-Pacific.

“Southeast Asia is located at a strategic pivot in the Indo-Pacific and is a world growth center, thus partnership with Southeast Asia is vital for regional peace and stability,” ang sinabi naman ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo.

“We will approach the next US administration to convey that constructive commitment of the United States in this region is important, also for the United States itself,” dagdag na wika ni Manalo.

Sa nasabi pa ring araw, muli namang pinagtibay ng mga foreign ministers ng QUAD member states na sina Rubio, Iwaya, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, at Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong ang kanilang “shared commitment to strengthening a free and open Indo-Pacific where the rule of law, democratic values, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are upheld and defended”.

Sa kanyang confirmation hearing, inilarawan ni Rubio ang naging aksyon ng Beijing sa Asia Pacific bilang “deeply destabilizing” at hinikayat ang Tsina na iwasan ng gumawa ng “anything rash or irrational” pagdating sa Pilipinas at Taiwan kung ito ay seryoso na gawing matatag ang US-China relations. PBBM, hindi hinahadlangan ang impeachment complaints laban kay VP Sara

HINDI hinahadlangan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang proseso ng impeachment complaints laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa press briefing sa Philippine International Convention Center sa Pasay City, pinabulaanan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin ang pahayag ng mga mambabatas mula sa Makabayan bloc sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso na di umano’y ang pakikialam ni Pangulong Marcos ang dahilan ng pagkaantala sa impeachment proceedings laban kay VP Sara.

“He (Marcos) is not blocking. He cannot do that because it is the discretion of the collective of the lower house. If they decide to initiate, there is no way of preventing that,” ang sinabi ni Bersamin.

Ipinahahayag lamang aniya ni Pangulong Marcos ang pananaw nito sa impeachment move subalit hindi dinidiktahan ang Kongreso na ipagpaliban ang proseso ng reklamo.

Sinabi pa niya na may karapatan ang Kongreso na mag-endorso ng impeachment complaints laban kay VP Sara.

“You know, that under the constitution, the impeachment must emanate from the lower house, okay? Now, if the President has made the statement at all, about that process, it is only an opinion that he stated because he probably the thinking of the President is that might be distracting us from our agenda or our move forward,” aniya pa rin.

“We cannot dictate on the lower house. It is co-equal, belongs to a co-equal branch of government. All we were saying, the President was saying to the lower house, this is my position,” ang sinabi ni Bersamin.

Matatandaang, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na hindi ito pabor sa anumang balakin na i-impeach o patalsikin sa puwesto si VP Sara dahil maaapektuhan umano ang trabaho ng mga kongresista at senador.

Sinabi pa ni Pangulong Marcos na hindi ikagaganda ng buhay ng mga Pilipino ang pag-impeach kay Duterte.

Kinumpirma rin ni Marcos ang text message na hinikayat niya ang mga mambabatas na huwag maghain ng impeachment complaint laban kay VP Sara.

Sa ulat, ang posibleng paghahain ng impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte ay bunga ng hidwaan ni VP Sara kina Marcos at pinsan nito na si Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Sa Kamara nagmumula ang reklamong impeachment, na kapag naaprubahan ay dadalhin sa Senado upang “litisin” ang opisyal na nais tanggalin sa posisyon.

Ang mga impeachable official sa bansa ay ang Presidente, Bise Presidente, mga miyembro ng Supreme Court, mga miyembro ng Constitutional Commissions, at ang Ombudsman.

Bukod sa usapin ng kung papaano o saan ginamit ni Duterte ang kaniyang confidential funds na iniimbestigahan ng mga kongresista, naging kontrobersiyal ang isiniwalat ng bise presidente na may kinausap na siyang papatay kina Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at Romualdez, kung may masamang mangyayari sa kanya. INIHAYAG na noong Huwebes, ika-23 ng Enero sa Los Angeles ang mga nominasyon para sa 97th Oscars.

Ang musical crime drama na ‘Emilia Pérez’ ay nangunguna sa lahat ng mga pelikula na nakakuha ng 13 nominasyon, kabilang ang makasaysayang pagkilala para kay Karla Sofía Gascón, ang first transgender performer sa kasaysayan ng Oscar na hinirang para sa Best Actress.

Habang ang ‘Emilia Pérez’ ang nangibabaw sa mga nominasyon, mayroong hindi pagkaka-nominate kay Selena Gomez para sa Best Supporting Actress, na kung saan sa naturang kategorya siya hinirang ng British Academy of Film and Television Awards at ng Golden Globes.

Samantala, ang historical epic na ‘The Brutalist’ at musical na ‘Wicked’ ay parching nominado para sa 10 Oscars, habang ang Bob Dylan biopic na ‘A Complete Unknown’ at papal thriller na ‘Conclave’ ay may tig-walong nominasyon.

Dahil concern lang sa kanyang godson: MARC, in-explain kung bakit nag-testify laban kay MAGGIE

VIA Instagram ay nagpaliwanag ang Burmese-Australian TV host na si Marc Nelson sa naging involvement niya sa kaso nila Maggie Wilson and Victor Consunji regarding their son, Connor.

In-explain ni Marc kung bakit siya nag-testify against Maggie ay dahil concern siya sa kanyang godson.

“I understand that there has been some speculations or assumptions made about my involvement with a recent case involving Maggie Wilson and Victor Consunji regarding their son. To clear things up, I would like to clarify some points regarding this.
“My only concern regarding this matter is the welfare of their son, who happens to be my godson. He has already experienced many changes in his life and unfortunately , has to navigate them publicly. At his age, he is the beginning to build his identity and form new connections in school and within his commmunity, which makes these public stories potentially harmful in the long run.
“He specifically shared that these posts place him in an uncomfortable position, drawing unwanted attention and questions from both peers and adults.

“I had told the judge only what my godson had told me, nothing more annd nothing less.”

“In line with that, to honor his wishes, I don’t plan to say any more on this matter, and I would respectfully request the media to also do the same and keep his name and any reference to him out of any future articles concerning his parents.”

Victor filed a petition for a Temporary and a Permanent Protection Order under the Violence Against Women and their Children Act (VAWC) of 2004 against his ex-wife, Maggie, which was denied recently in Family Court.

Higit pang mga detalye tungkol sa mga larawan ni Nicdao, na may petsang 2008 at 2012, ay nakalista sa website. Bawat isa sa mga larawan na nagtatampok sa mga sikat na Filipino celebrity ay may mga paglalarawan sa mga detalye ng damit at kanilang mga designer.

Ang Getty Museum ay kilala sa koleksyon nito ng mga pre-20th century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, decorative arts at mga litrato mula sa buong mundo.

Muling gaganap na witch sa ‘Into The Woods’: LEA, nagbabalik sa musical theatre after six years

AFTER six years ay muling bumalik sa musical theatre si Lea Salonga via the Philippine production of Into The Woods ng Theater Group Asia (TGA).

Gagampanan ng Tony Award-winning actress ang role ng The Witch na unang ginawa ni Lea sa Singapore production ng Into The Woods in 1994.

“Playing her again 30 years later is going to be illuminating. So much life has happened in the intervening years. I’m hoping to bring as much of that as I can to this production,” sey ni Lea.

Ang huling pag-arte sa stage ni Lea ay noong 2019 sa local production ng ‘Sweeney Todd.’

‘Into The Woods’ will open on August 2025 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.

KINORONAHAN bilang Miss Teen Universe Philippines 2025 ang 17-year old Filipina-German na taga-Camarines Norte na si Chiara Mae Gottschalk.

Magiging representative ng Pilipinas si Chiara sa 2025 Miss Teen Universe. But as of this writing, wala pang ina-announce kung kailan at saang bansa ito nagaganap.

Sa official sashing and crowing ni Chiara last January 19 sa German Club Manila in Makati City, sinabi ng teen queen na first time niya sumali sa pageant at sorpresa sa kanya ang pagbigay sa kanya ng naturang beauty title dahil runner-up lang daw siya sa sinalihan na Miss Teen International Philippines.

“Miss Teen International Philippines was my first ever experience in the pageantry world, and it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever done, especially meeting my fellow candidates.

“However, one of the biggest lessons I also learned was that coming up first runner-up for Miss Teen International, it does not always mean that when you do not succeed, that it is a door closing.

“It is more of a redirection. And this is why I’m sitting in front of you here today. And I’m very, very, very excited to accept this new responsibility.

“It was the day after the coronation night when we were already celebrating and congratulating all the girls and especially Miss Rizal, the new Miss Teen International Philippines.

“And then we had a meeting with Miss Charlotte, and she told me and offered this wonderful experience, and I graciously accepted the challenge.

“Thank you because I’m able to reach the youth. It is Miss Teen Universe for a reason, and it will be my first time representing the country on the national stage.”

NAKATAKDA nang mamaalam na ang character ni John Estrada sa top rating serye na “Batang Quiapo” ni Coco Martin

Ito ay ayon sa nakausap naming ABS-CBN insider.

Ayon pa sa source ay may ilang taping days na lang daw si John at papatayin na ang ginampanang papel ng aktor.

May kinalaman marahil sa kotrobersiya involving John at ang batang aktres na si Barbie Imperial, kung kaya magbabu na sa ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ ang magaling na aktor.

Lumikha kasi ng malaking isyu ang tsikang pagiging malapit ni John sa co star niyang si Barbie kung kaya pati ang papel niya bilang Rigor sa hit series ay wakasan na.

Ang nasabing kontrobersya ay hindi lamang nakaapekto image ni John, kundi nagdulot din umano ng negative effects sa reputasyon ng palabas, lalo na sa mga kabataang manonood at sa mga magulang ng mga ito.

Kumbaga, hindi naging maganda ang dulot sa mga kabataang masugid na tagasubaybay bg palabas.

Kahit na itinanggi ni John ang naturang isyu, still hindi ba raw maalis yun sa mga tagasubaybay ng “Batang Quiapo” na sa tuwing lumalabas ang aktor sa serye ay naalala nila ang involvement ng aktor sa young aktres.

Halatang papatayin ni Tanggol, na ginagampanan ni Coco Martin, si Rigor matapos malaman na hindi pala siya ang tunay niyang ama.

Nang tanungin tungkol sa pag-exit ni John, banggit ng source na sinusunod lang daw ang story line.

“Bahagi ito ng storyline. Napag-usapan na ito nina John at Coco, at tanggap naman ito ni John,” sey pa nito.

Pero maaaring malaki pa rin ang kinalaman ng kontrobersya nina John at Barbie kung kaya ang pag-alis ni Rigor, sinasabi ng ilang insiders na ang desisyong ito ay bahagi pa rin ng orihinal na plano ng palabas.

Well, abangan na lang natin dahil marami pang kaabang-abang na mangyayari sa number one primetime show ng Dos.

Ngayon pa lang ay marami nang umalma na tagahanga ni John Estrada.

Pero ang latest ay nabago na raw ang plano, kaya buhay na buhay pa rin si Rigor sa ‘Batang Quiapo’.
