NAGLABAS ng kanyang third single under GMA Music ang ‘Voltes V: Legacy’ star na si Matt Lozano titled “Liham”.

Tungkol nga raw sa moving on and finding happiness again after a difficult situation ang sinulat na awit ni Matt.

“May dalawa akong single na ni-release last year and two years ago tapos ngayon may bagong single na naman kaya sobrang happy and excited ako na maiparinig ang bago kong likha. Masasabi ko rin na lahat ng pangarap ko, unti-unti ko na ngayong nakakamit.”

Inabot lang daw si Matt ng 15 minutes para masulat ang “Liham”.

“Talagang galing siya sa puso ko. Kung anong lumabas na letra hinayaan ko lang ‘yung sarili ko. Sa 15 minutes na pagsusulat na ‘yon kasama na doon ‘yung melody. Actually meron akong ipapasang kanta kay Paulo Agudelo pero after ko masulat ito nang biglaan, pinauna ko ‘to kasi gusto kong i-release itong song na mas dama ‘yung emosyon. Napaka-raw ng kantang ito.

“Ang dami nga nagtatanong sa akin as a songwriter kung paano daw ‘yung process ko sa pagsusulat. Iba-iba eh. May isang kanta na one year bago ko matapos kasi wala akong nararamdaman na emosyon that time. Siguro mabilis ka talagang makakapagsulat kung meron kang bagahe na bitbit.”

Nag-debut at #4 on iTunes PH’s Top 100 Songs chart noong i-release ang “Liham” noong May 19.

ANG sweet ng mensahe ng Sparkle teen actress na si Althea Ablan noong birthday ng kanyang boyfriend na si Prince Clemente noong nakaraang May 18.

Parehong nagbabakasyon sa Hong Kong sina Althea at Prince. Ito nga raw ang first time ni Althea na mag-out of the country kasama ang kanyang boyfriend.

Pinost ng ‘Arabella’ star sa kanyang Instagram ang photo nila ni Prince na may caption na: “Una at huling babati sa’yo ngayong kaarawan mo. Thank you MOO through thick and thin nandyan ka. Thank you for being one of my strengths, for always making me happy! You’re the sweetest, kindest hehehe u know the rest.”

Nag-reply naman si Prince sa message na iyon ni Althea: “Thank you MOO for everything! Alam mo na din yan hahaha”

Maraming kaibigan ng dalawa ang kinilig sa sagutan ng dalawa sa Instagram. May isang taon na rin kasing may relasyon ang dalawa simula noong unang magparamdam si Prince kay Althea noong nakaraang taon.

Nitong summer ay nagkaroon ng beach getaway ang dalawa at nag-post sila ng mga special moments habang ginagawa nila ang iba’t ibang activities sa beach.

NAGING open ang Hollywood siren na si Megan Fox sa kanyang mental health disorder na Body Dysmorphia.

Ayon sa Mayo Clinic: “Body dysmorphic disorder is a mental health condition in which you can’t stop thinking about one or more perceived defects or flaws in your appearance — a flaw that appears minor or can’t be seen by others. But you may feel so embarrassed, ashamed and anxious that you may avoid many social situations.”

“As I realized I’d been in this industry for so long, I was like, ‘What are some things I want to do that are maybe accessible to me that I could manifest?’ And that was one of them, where I decided, ‘I do really want to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated,’” sey ni Megan.

Kasama ni Megan sa Sports Illustrated ay iba’t ibang women of all ages and stories. Kaya na-encourage si Megan na maging bukas na siya sa sakit niyang body dysmorphia na matagal nang pagsubok sa kanyang physically and mentally.

“When you have something like, any type of insecurities but especially a body dysmorphia, that amplifies that and makes it very difficult. So I have not overcome, but I am just functioning as best I can.”

PBBM, madamot na magbigay ng komento sa isyu ng speakership sa Kongreso

HANGGANG sa ngayon ay madamot pa rin si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na magbigay ng komento sa isyu ng liderato sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso sa gitna ng umugong na balita na plot o planong patalsikin si Speaker Martin Romualdez sa posisyon nito.

“I won’t make any comments about the speakership, as of yet,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sa sa idinaos na League of Provinces of the Philippines 4th General Assembly sa Pampanga matapos ipakilala si Romualdez.

Ang pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos ay matapos na pabulaanan ni dating Pangulo at ngayon ay Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang tsismis o usap-usapan na siya di umano ang nagpa-plano para patalsikin si Romualdez bilang Speaker of the House.

Nauna rito, tinanggal sa kaniyang posisyon bilang House Senior Deputy Speaker si Arroyo.

Sa paliwanag ni House Majority Leader at Zamboanga 2nd District Representative Manuel Jose Dalipe, ito’y upang bawasan umano ang bigat ng gampanin nito bilang kongresista.

Pero sa maikling statement na inilabas ni Arroyo, sinabi nito na “it’s the prerogative of the House.” Sinabi ng ilang malalapit sa dating Pangulo na maayos naman ang kalusugan nito.

Sa session nitong Miyerkules, May 17, pinalitan si Arroyo ng kapwa Kapampangan na si 3rd District Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr. Si Arroyo ang tumatayong chairman emeritus ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).

Si Arroyo rin ang isa sa mga kongresista ng 19th Congress na nag-endorso sa kaniyang party-mate na si Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez bilang House Speaker na naipagtagumpay naman nito noong July 2022.

Mayorya naman ng political parties kabilang na ang Lakas-CMD, the National Unity Party (NUP) at Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) — ang nagpahayag ng kanilang suporta para kay Romualdez, pinsan ni Pangulong Marcos.

Ang administration-allied Party-List Foundation, Inc., (PCFI) ay nagpahayag din na nananatili ang suporta nito kay Romualdez. (Daris Jose)

PMA topnotcher, nagbigay pugay sa 2 ‘mistah’ na nasawi

HINDI nakalimutan ni Cadet Warren Leonor, ang Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ”Madasigon” class valedictorian na magbigay pugay at parangal sa dalawa nilang “mistah” na nasawi.

Sa valedictory address, binanggit ni Leonor sina Darwin Dormitorio at Mario Telan Jr., na kanyang nakasama noong freshmen o plebo pa lamang sila.

Ayon kay Leonor, ang pagkamatay ng dalawa nilang mistah ay sumubok sa kanilang klase at hindi umano nila malilimutan ang maikli at masaya nilang samahan sa panahon ng Covid-19 pandemic.

“You will forever be a cherished part of the Madasigon Class of 2023,” ani Leonor.

Matatandaang si Dormitorio ay nasawi noong September 2019 dahil sa hazing.

Dahil dito, dalawang PMA cadets at tatlong doktor mula sa academy ang sinampahan ng kaso.

Nakita namang patay si Telan sa PMA pool kasunod ng isang swimming class at batay sa ulat ng PNP nalunod ang biktima.

PBBM, nababahala sa posibleng service delays kung babawiin ang prangkisa ng NGCP

NAGPAHAYAG ng pangamba si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. hinggil sa epekto ng situwasyon ng power supply kung ang prangkisa ng privately owned National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) ay mapawawalang-bisa.

Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, maaaring mahirapan na makahanap ng kapalit para sa power grid operator, posibleng maging dahilan ng service disruptions.

“I think however we handle the franchise problem, kung tanggalin natin ‘yung prangkisa, kunin ng gobyerno, ibigay natin sa ibang korporasyon [if we revoke the franchise, if the government takes control, or if we give it to another corporation], whatever it is, but the delay that will be caused is the problem that we have,” ang sinabi ng Pangulo sa isang panayam.

“Tatanggalin mo ‘yung prangkisa, ‘yung nandyan ngayon, tanggal silang lahat. Saan natin kukunin ‘yung kapalit?,” dagdag na wika nito.

Magkagayon man, hindi naman “categorically oppose” si Pangulong Marcos sa panukalang rebokasyon o pagpapawalang-bisa sa prangkisa ng NGCP.

Sa ulat, posibleng matanggalan ng prangkisa ang NGCP dahil sa iba’t ibang problema sa kuryente sa bansa.

Araw ng Miyerkules ay umarangkada ang pagdinig ng Senado sa iba’t ibang problema ng suplay ng kuryente sa bansa.

Sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Energy ay nasermonan ang NGCP, ang pribadong kompanya na namamahala sa transmission ng kuryente sa Pilipinas.

Pinag-initan ng mga senador ang umano’y delay sa transmission projects.

Pinuna rin na ang umano’y 95% na kita ng NGCP ay napupunta umano sa mga bulsa ng mga shareholders at hindi sa pagpapaunlad ng kanilang serbisyo.

Uminit din ang ulo ni Tulfo nang makumpirma na binara ng NGCP ang mga tauhan na pinadala ng Transmission Commission para sa isang surprise inspection.

Sinabi pa ni Tulfo na ang mga pagkakamali ng NGCP ay posibleng maging dahilan sa pagka-revoke ng kanilang prangkisa.

Subalit kung ang prangkisa aniya ay susuriing mabuti, sinabi ng Pangulo na kinokonsidera niya na mahalaga rin ang performance ng korporasyon at pagtalima sa kontrata.

“It is really the performance,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos sabay sabing “Halimbawa, bakit nagkakaroon ng outage sa Negros at saka Panay Island.”

“And there was very clear agreement in the contract as to what, how much investment the grid corporation will put in. Pinag-aaralan ngayon nagawa ba talaga nila lahat ‘yun? Kung nagawa nila lahat ‘yun, bakit kulang pa at nagkakaganito? That’s the issue at hand for me,” pagpapatuloy nito. (Daris Jose)

VP Sara nagpatutsada: Don’t be ‘tambaloslos’

MATAPOS kumalas sa Lakas-CMD Usap-usapan ngayon ang ipinaskil na ‘cryptic message’ ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa social media, kung saan tinawag nito ang pansin ng isang tao at pinayuhang itigil ang pagiging ‘tambaloslos.’

“Sa imong ambisyon (sa iyong ambisyon), do not be tambaloslos,” ani Duterte, bilang caption ng kanyang self-portrait photo na ipinaskil sa kanyang verified Instagram account.

Hindi pa naman malinaw kung ano o para kanino ang naturang post ng bise presidente, ngunit inilabas niya ito, sa gitna nang kaguluhang nagaganap sa House of Representatives.

Ang ‘tambaloslos’ ay sinasabing tumutukoy sa isang mythical creature na inilarawan bilang “halimaw o kakaibang nilalang na may malaking bibig at ari.”

Ito rin ang Visayan o Cebuano slang para sa isang tao na puro daldal lamang, walang kakayahan o hangal, at kadalasang ginagamit bilang isang insulto laban sa isang lalaki.

Habang isinusulat ang balitang ito ay hindi pa rin naglalabas ang kampo ng bise presidente ng paglilinaw kung may partikular na tao ba siyang tinutukoy sa kanyang IG post.

Matatandaang kamakailan ay nagbitiw si VP Sara mula sa Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).

Ang pagbibitiw ni Sara ay matapos ma-demote si Pampanga 2nd district Rep. at Lakas-CMD Chairperson Emeritus Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo bilang senior deputy speaker. (Daris Jose)

DepEd, planong ipapatupad ang K-10 curriculum sa 2024

TARGET ng DepEd na ilunsad ang bagong curriculum para sa Kinder hanggang Grade 10 (K to 10) sa school year 2024-2025.

Sinabi ng tagapagsalita ng DepEd na si Michael Poa na ang ahensya ay nagtitipon ng feedback ng publiko sa draft ng K to 10 curriculum.

Aniya, nais ng nasabing departamento na makuha ang komento ng publiko ukol sa nasabing usapin upang malaman nila at pag-aralan kung ano pa ang mga kinakailangan sa pagpapatupad nito.

Kaugnay niyan, ang pagsusuri ng curriculum ng Senior High School ay nasa yugto na ng konsultasyon.

Sinabi ni Poa na susundan ito ng review proper, revision, at paglalabas ng draft curriculum “for transparency.”

Isinasapinal na rin ng DepEd ang school calendar para sa susunod na SY 2023-2024.

Sobrang busy sa work kaya wala ring time: JAKE, nakikipag-date pero ‘di nagmamadaling magka-girlfriend

SINA Jake Cuenca at Sue Ramirez ang bida sa ‘Jack and Jill Sa Diamond Hills’ na mula sa TV5, APT Entertainment at Cignal TV, napapanood sa Kapatid Network tuwing Linggo, 6 pm.

Si Sue, sa tunay na buhay ay may “Jack” na, boyfriend na si Mayor Javi Benitez ng Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Si Jake ba ay may ‘Jill’ na sa tunay na buhay?

“Wow! Wala, wala pa. Parang ano e, hindi, wala pa. But right now I think, ang dami kong ginagawa to be honest and parang… nagkasakit nga ako,” at natawa si Jake.

“Nagkaroon na ako ng, ‘The show must go on!’ moment habang ginagawa ko yung play, may sakit na ako, hindi ko na alam kung kaya kong gawin.

“But we did it, di ba.” pagtukoy ni Jake sa katatapos lamang na sexy play niyang ‘Dick Talks’ na kasabay naman ng taping niya para sa ‘Jack and Jill Sa Diamond Hills’.

Dagdag pa niya, “It will come at the right time, I think.

“Tsaka parang for now parang I’m happy with my current situation.”

Kahit pakikipag-date ay hindi ba niya ginagawa sa ngayon?

“Ahhh I’m open to it, di ba, I’m open to it pero for now parang this is no time, wala talagang time, e. Kakatapos lang nung play ko and then we’re here now, [sa Jack and Jill Sa Diamond Hills], but I’m grateful for this.

“Kumbaga eto yung mga tipong mga probelma na I’d like to have, alam mo yun?

“Na sa gitna ng pandemya sana ito yung problema ko nun, parang ganun,” at natawa si Jake na ang tinutukoy ay ang pagkakasakit dahil sa dami ng trabaho.

Sa direksyon ni John ‘Sweet’ Lapus, gumaganap na mga pulis sina Jake at Sue sa naturang sitcom.

Kaya tinanong namin si Jake kung noon bang bata siya ay naging ambisyon o pangarap niyang maging isang pulis.

“Ahm parang ano e, nung nagka-Cops and Robbers kami nung bata ako I always like being the robber,” at tumawa si Jake.

Ang Cops and Robbers ay isang uri ng laro para sa mga bata.

“I always like being the cowboy, or the Indian, yung laging ako yung masama, e. But I don’t mind this,” sabay-turo ni Jake sa suot niyang uniporme ng pulis sa mediacon, “I can be a cop, too.”

Kasama rin sa ‘Jack and Jill Sa Diamond Hills’ sina Ara Mina, DJ Onse, Nana Silayro, Nico Antonio, DJ Jhai Ho Hershey Neri, Willie Miller at Gardo Versoza.

Natanong naman si Jake, dahil ang orihinal na ‘Jack and Jill’ movie ay pinagbidahan nina Dolphy at Lolita Rodriguez (1954) at ‘Jack & Jill’ naman nina Herbert Bautista at Sharon Cuneta (1987) may pressure ba sa kanya ngayong siya si “Jack”?

“Actually hindi naman po siya remake, e. Di ba? Magkapatid sila sa original.”

Love interest naman nila ni Sue as Jill ang isa’t-isa sa TV5 comedy series.

“Yeah, it’s not a remake but certainly nakaka-pressure kasi naka-attach yung pangalan ng mga artistang nandiyan. But I think we’re confident kasi sobrang ang saya kasi ng set, e.”

Pagsegunda pa ni Sue kay Jake…

“Tiwala lang talaga yun e, sa ginagawa mo at sa ginagawa ng lahat ng tao sa paligid mo. Sabi ng ani Jake nagre-react lang daw siya sa amin pero lahat kami actually nagre-react lang kami sa isa’t-isa.

“Ganun po talaga gumawa ng comedy di ba, hindi dapat sobrang scripted kasi hindi mo mapu-pull off yung mga punchline kapag ganun.

“So kailangan lumalabas siya spontaneous,” sinabi pa ni Sue.

Tinanong rin kay Jake kung kumusta maging direktor si John “Sweet” Lapus.

“Actually maraming nagtatanong sa akin kumusta si direk Sweet, for me kahit comedy direk Sweet is intense! Kaya kailangan seryoso ka sa set hindi puwede yung ano, you can’t take things lightly with direk. “Kailangan you have to come to the set prepared, ready to work, and be able to do whatever he says.

“Kasi seryoso din si direk e, kaya kahit sabihin mong masaya at comedy ang ginagawa namin it’s still work.

“Hundred percent it’s still work,” sinabi ni Jake.

Miles Morales is Spider-Man

Miles Morales is now older, wiser and more capable after going through the challenges of his first year as a high school-aged superhero. “We pick up a few months after the first movie ended,” says writer-producer Phil Lord. “Miles has had a growth spurt, and that gave us the excuse to have a cool new character design and costume. He’s still trying to figure out what it’s like to be a superhero. The trouble is, it was a lot easier when he had other people like him around, and now that they’re gone, both Miles and Gwen are feeling the absence of folks who understand what they are going through.”

Actor Shameik Moore, who voices Miles in the sequel says, “It’s the classic struggle for Spider-Man… He’s trying to find his purpose while he’s still figuring himself out. I think everyone can relate to that on some level.”

Gwen Stacy is Spider-Woman

With her enhanced strength, speed, agility, and spider-sense, Gwen Stacy, also known as the amazing Spider-Woman of Earth-65, faces numerous new challenges in the sequel. Actress Hailee Steinfeld, who reprises her role as Gwen, says, “Gwen’s relationship with Miles is quite complex this time around. There is such a bond between these two characters, and while Gwen wants to push Miles to do what she knows he is more than capable of doing, she also wants to take on the world together and there’s a lot that’s getting in the way. It’ll be exciting to see where their journey takes them from here.”

Miguel O’Hara is Spider-Man 2099

Voiced by Oscar Isaac, Miguel is one of the first new characters that Miles encounters when he begins his voyage across the Spider-Verse. This time, Miguel is super busy as the creator and commander of the Spider-Society. “It has always been a source of pride knowing that there was a Latino Spider-Man out there, and I was honored to bring Miguel O’Hara to life,” says Isaac. “Finding his voice, his intensity, his tragic darkness, his sense of humor (or lack thereof) was a fun creative process.”

Peter B. Parker is Mayday’s dad

“When we left Peter B. Parker in the first movie, he was going back to Mary Jane and realizing he did want to be a father, so it made total sense that we would catch him in ‘new daddy’ craziness!” shares writer and producer Christopher Miller. Adds Jake Johnson of his new dad character, “He’s definitely pushing to do everything he can as Spider-Man. But you know, once you have a kid, things get divided and priorities change, and I think that happened for Peter. But I will say, Mayday is already showing promise in the world of Spider-People – there is a chance she might be more than meets the eye.”

Jessica Drew is Spider-Woman

Says director Kemp Powers of Jessica Drew, the super-cool and very pregnant Spider-Woman of Earth-332, “She’s just a badass.” Issa Rae, who voices the character (and who’s been a Spider-Man fan since she was in the third grade!), agrees: “She is a hero in every sense. Sometimes being a hero involves making sacrifices for the greater good. And because Jessica is starting a family of her own, she wants to make sure that the world that she brings her child into is a safe one. And so she’s doing everything she can to make sure that she’s stopping the evil of this world while also being an excellent mentor to the upcoming generation of Spider-People, including Gwen.”

BINIGYANG-diin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa 310 graduates ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA) MADASIGON Class of 2023 na maging handa sa mga hamon na kanilang kakaharapin ngayong magsisimula na sila sa kanilang serbisyo publiko.

Sabi ng Pangulo ang mga kadete ay hinasa at hinubog ng akademya para maging magagaling na mga opisyal ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas.

Ayon sa Pangulo ang totoong laban ay nagsisimula pa lamang kaya nararapat lamang na maging handa ang mga ito.

Ang mga nararanasang realidad sa likod ng security environment ng bansa ang palaging nag-uudyok sa militar para maging handa sa anumang banta na kahaharapin.
