Obiena asam makuha ang 6.0 meters

ANG paglundag sa six meters ang inaasam pa ring makuha ni World No. 3 pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena.

Ito kasi ang laging tinatalon ni World No. 1 at Olympic Games gold medalist Armand Duplantis ng Sweden.

Sa ilang ulit nilang paghaharap ay isang beses lamang tinalo ni Obiena si Duplantis na nangyari sa Brussels Leg ng Diamond League noong Setyembre 3.

“The way I approach the game is to win. If I can win with 6 meters then I need to jump 6 meters,” wika ng Southeast Asian Games at Asian record-holder. “For me, it’s really a matter of winning medals.”

Ang world record na 6.21m ay kasalukuyang hawak ng 22-anyos na si Duplantis na itinala niya sa nakaraang 2022 World Athletics Championships sa Eugene, Oreogn,.

Sa nasabing torneo inangkin ng 26-anyos na si Obiena ang bronze medal sa kanyang nilundag na 5.94m para sa bago niyang personal best at Asian record.

Ito ang unang medalya ng Pilipinas sa world championship.

Tinatapos na ng 6-foot-2 Pinoy pole vaulter ang kanyang three-week vacation sa bansa bago sumalang sa training camp sa Formia, Italy.

Sa nakaraan niyang outdoor season ay anim na gintong medalya ang inangkin ni Obiena sa nilahukang walong torneo.

Tampok rito ang pagsapaw niya kay Duplantis sa Brussels Leg.

Plano ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) na magdaos ng isang invitational tournament sa Tagaytay City.

Kumpiyansa si Obiena na mahihikayat niya sina Duplantis, World No. 2 Chris Nilsen at 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist Thiago Braz na sumali sa torneo.

PBBM, nabahala sa nangyaring “senseless killing” kay Percy Lapid

NABABAHALA ang Office of the President (OP) partikular na si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa nangyaring “senseless killing” sa isang batikang mamamahayag at kasalukuyang radio commentator ng DWBL na si Percy Lapid.

Sa katunayan, sinabi ni Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Hubert Guevarra na inatasan sila ni Pangulong Marcos na tingnan ang isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng pananambang at pagbaril sa biktima pasado alas-8:30 kagabi, Oktubre 3, ng hindi pa nakilalang mga salarin na magkaangkas sa motorsiklo sa Las Piñas City.

“In fact I was in communication with certain officials who advised me that the Southern Police District has created a task force on Percy Lapid,” ayon kay Guevarra.

“We just assumed our office last Tuesday but I was informed that there is a presidential task force on media security. In fact, I personally would meet with them, convene them if necessary, to advise them…to sit down with the Southern Police District and ensure that the conduct of investigation proceeds without any problem and submit to us, report to us hopefully within the next seven days.” wika pa nito.

Nauna rito, hayagan namang kinondena ng Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFOMS) ang pamamaslang kay Lapid.

Panukalang SIM registration at poll postponement, nilagdaan ng kongreso; ipinadala sa Palasyo para sa lagda ng Pangulo

NILAGDAAN na nina Speaker Martin Romualdez at Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri ngayong Martes sa isang simpleng seremonya sa Manila Golf Club, Makati, ang panukalang batas para sa SIM Registration Act at Barangay and SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) Elections Postponement Act.

“Today (Tuesday), I am honored to join Senate President Migz Zubiri in signing the enrolled bills that will be officially transmitted to Malacanang for the President’s signature,” ani Romualdez.

Si Romualdez ang pangunahing awtor ng House version ng SIM Registration Act (HB No. 14) na inaprubahan sa pinal na pagbasa noong September 19.

Dumalo rin sa kaganapan sina House Majority Leader at Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe, Reps. Toby Tiangco, Marjorie Ann Teodoro, at Juliet Marie Ferrer, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva, Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito, Senadora Imee Marcos at Grace Poe.

The twin measures were the first enrolled bills accomplished under the First Regular Session of the 19th Congress.

Matapos lagdaan ang naturang panukala ay ibinigay nila ito kay Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Secretary Mark Llandro Mendoza na siya namang magsusumite ng dokumento kay Presidente Bongbong Marcos para sa kanyang lagda upang ganap na itong maging batas.

Ipinasa ng senado ang kanilang bersyon ng panukala (SB 1310) nitong September 27 habang niratipikahan naman ng dalawang kapulungan ang bicameral report nitong September 28.

“This (SIM Registration Act) may be the first legislative measure to be signed into law by President Bongbong Marcos. Once enacted into law, this will be our first line of defense against scammers, con artists, and criminal elements who use cellphone and other electronic communication gadgets for nefarious activities,” paliwanag ni Romualdez.

Binalaan naman nito ang mga text scammers na itigil na ang kanilang illegal activities, dahil mahuhuli sila at makakasuhan sa ilalim ng batas.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang mga end-users ay kailangang iparehistro ang kanilang SIM bilang pre-requisite sa activation nito. Ang mga existing SIM ay kailangan ding iparehitro sa loob ng 180 araw mula sa effectivity ng batas.

Ang kabiguan na maparehitro ang SIM sa itinakdang panahon ay magreresulta sa automatic deactivation at maaari lamang magamit matapos iparehistro. (Ara Romero)

Walang fare matrix, walang taas singil sa pasahe – LTFRB

IPINAALALA ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa mga operator / drivers ng mga pampasaherong sasakyan sa bansa lalo na sa Metro Manila na hindi maaaring maningil ng taas pasahe hangga’t walang nakapaskil na fare matrix.

Kaugnay ito sa pagsisimula ng taas pasahe nitong Lunes sa mga pampublikong sasakyan.

Kasabay nito sinabi pa ng LTFRB na nakabukas ang ahensiya para sa mga kukuha ng kopya ng kanilang fare matrix para makapaningil na ng dagdag pasahe sa mga pasahero.

Inihayag din ni LTFRB Board Member Mercy Jane Paras-Leynes na umaabot pa lamang sa anim na porsyento ng target public utility vehicles (PUVs) ang nakakuha ng kopya ng updated fare matrix.

“Ito pong fare matrix para sa effectivity nung bagong fare adjustment, mga six percent pa lang ang nabibigyan natin doon sa target nating 250,000 na mga PUVs,” sabi ni Paras-Leynes.

Sinabi pa nito na magpapataw ang LTFRB ng P5,000 multa para sa PUVs na hindi maglalagay ng kopya ng bagong fare matrix base sa Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-001.

Dahil sa mababang porsyento ng PUVs na hindi nakakuha ng updated fare matrix sa unang araw ng fare increase, sinabi ni Paras-Leynes na inihanda ng LTFRB ang monitoring teams nito upang bantayan ang PUVs. Nakipag-ugnayan na rin umano ang LTFRB sa operators upang tiyakin ang pagsunod ng kanilang PUVs.

Nanawagan ito sa mga commuters na ireklamo ang mga PUVs na walang bagong fare matrix sa Facebook page at hotline 1342 ng LTFRB. Nabatid na P50 ang singil ng LTFRB para sa kopya ng updated fare matrix.

Unang inaprubahan ng LTFRB ang pagpapatupad ng taas pasahe sa PUVs dahil sa epekto ng patuloy na taas ng halaga ng petroleum products. (Daris Jose)

MAGTATAPOS na ang Kapamilya suspense-drama series na Flower of Evil at nagpapasalamat ang cast dahil naging bahagi sila ng groundbreaking project na ito sa pagitan ng Viu at ABS-CBN.

Sinabi ng main cast na binubuo nina Edu Manzano, Piolo Pascual, Paulo Avelino, JC De Vera, at Lovi Poe (via zoom) na malaking challenge sa kanila na gawin malapit sa Filipino audience ang kwento para mas maraming maka-relate dito.

Sabi ni Lovi, “It’s more like making it your own. I was so glad for the guidance of our director. They led us to making it our own version.”

Sabi naman ni Paulo, may conscious effort daw ang production team para hindi magmukhang adaptation ang kanilang show kundi gawin ito na may touch ng pagka-Pinoy para maiba sa tingin ng mga nakapanood ng Korean version.

Ayon naman kay Piolo, matinding pressure ang naramdaman niya as an actor dahil well-acted and widely-followed ang series dahil sa ganda nito.

Dagdag pa ni Piolo na matindi ang pressure para sa kanilang mga actors dahil mataas ang expectations ng mga tao. Pwede silang ma-bash kung hindi maganda ang show.

“But the best thing about this is knowing the story, how it’s gonna start and how it’s gonna end. So we had a reference. We kinda had a manual as to how to do it differently,” paliwanag ni Piolo.

Nagpasalamat naman si Edu sa buong cast ng serye na tinawag pa niyang “gifted.”

“Kahit paano, hinahawakan pa rin ‘yung kamay ko, as we were holding each other’s hands para makapagpalabas ng isang magandang produkto.”

Tutukan ang killer finale ng “Flower of Evil” sa Viu, iWantTFC, at IPTV (USA and Canada only) ngayong Huwebes (Oktubre 6) at Biyernes (Oktubre 7) ng 8 PM at sa Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, at Jeepney TV sa Sabado (Oktubre 8) at Linggo (Oktubre 9) ng 9 PM.

MUCH-AWAITED ang reunion concert ng iconic band na Eraserheads!

Available na ang mga tickets simula kahapon pero ang pinag-uusapan sa social media ay ang prohibitive ticket price.

Noong Monday ay inanunsyo ng event organizer ang ticket prices na ang cheapest ay P3,050, while ang most expensive ay nagkakahalaga ng P17,260.

Kung diehard fan ka ng EHeads at gusto mo talaga manood ng concert, willing ka ba gumasta nang ganito kamahal for a one-night gig?

Hirit ng ibang tao sa social media, marami na raw pwede mabili sa P17k.

Tanong naman ng iba, bakit pag Korean artist ang may concert, willing gumastos ang fans kahit magkano pero pag Pinoy band parang ayaw nila?

Wala kaming idea kung magkano ang ticket prices ng mga Korean artists na nagpe-perform sa big venues like Araneta Coliseum or Mall of Asia pero marami naman ang nanonood sa kanila.

Pero kung rich naman ang fan and can afford sa ticket for one night, at hindi issue sa kanya na mahal ang ticket, by all means tiyak manonood yun.

Pero doon sa namamahalaan sa presyo ng ticket,sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, okay na lang sa kanila di man nila mapanood ang concert.

Toledo, bukas na tanggapin ang alok na maging press secretary

BUKAS si Atty. Michael “Mike” Toledo na tanggapin sakali’t ialok sa kanya ng administrasyong Marcos ang posisyon bilang press secretary.

Kabilang kasi ang pangalan ni Toledo sa mga pinagpipilian na magiging kapalit ni Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles na nagbitiw sa kanyang tungkulin dahil sa health reasons.

Hindi naman itinanggi o kinumpirma ni Toledo ang alok na posisyon sa kanya.

“I’m not in a position to dwell on it. But let me just say, given the opportunity to serve, why will I say no?” ayon kay Toledo sa isang panayam.

“Sino ba naman tayo para tumanggi? I will be humbled and it will be an honor and privilege to serve under the Marcos administration,” wika ni Toledo.

Aniya pa, handa siyang magsilbi maging sa private o sa public sector.

Si Toledo ay kasalukuyang pinuno ng government relations and public affairs department ng Metro Pacific Investments Corporation.

Sa kabilang dako, hindi naman aware si Toledo na kasama siya sa shortlist ng pagpipilian ni Pangulong Marcos kapalit ni Cruz-Angeles.

Bukod kasi kay Toledo, lumutang din ang mga pangalan nina dating broadcaster Gilbert Remulla at Transportation Undersecretary Cesar Chavez sa di umano’y pinagpipilian ng Pangulo.

“I am not aware of any shortlist but if I am indeed in a shortlist then I consider it to be an honor in itself. Can you imagine, of all the possible talents out there, a lot of talents out there, good people, brilliant minds, dedicated people as well who I’m sure is more than willing to serve in government, and yet I’m one of those in that shortlist,” ayon kay Toledo. P500 cash assistance, bigay ng mga pulis sa mahihirap na mag-aaral sa Tondo

SINIMULAN na ng Manila Police District (MPD)-Moriones Station ang pagbibigay ng buwanang cash assistance sa ilang pinakamahihirap na mag-aaral ng Isabelo Delos Reyes Elementary School sa Tondo, Manila kahapon ng umaga.

Nabatid kay Moriones Police commander PLtCol Harry Lorenzo III, na 35 mag-aaral mula kindergarten hanggang Grade VI na pinakamahihirap sa kanilang batch ang nabigyan ng tig-P500 na allowance na isasagawa kada buwan.

Alas-10 ng umaga nang umpisahan ang program sa pag-aabot mismo ni Lorenzo ng cash assistance kay Mrs. Eleodora Vergara, punong-guro ng paaralan.

Katuwang sa pamamahagi ng cash assistance ang Manila Chinese Action Team (MCAT), station advisory group at maging ang Divisoria Rider’s Club.

Ang nasabing programa ay bahagi ng pag-aadopt sa mga piling mag-aaral ng PNP na dapat ayudahan. Bahagi rin ito ng SAFE (Seen, Appreciated, Felt and Extraordinary) program ng National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) na hindi lang sa paglaban sa krimen dapat maramdaman umano ang mga pulis. IPINAPAKITA lang talaga ng mag-dyowa na sina Julia Barretto at Gerald Anderson na habang tumatagal, mas lalong tumatatag ang relasyon nila.

Kahit ilang beses na naiintriga na kesyo nagkakalabuan o break na, dedma lang ang dalawa at manggugulat na masaya silang magkasama.

Tulad na lang sa pag-attend nila sa F1 race sa Singapore. Sa post ni Julia, walang-duda na super nag-enjoy ito sa bakasyon nila ni Gerald na nasolo nila ang mga araw na silang dalawa lang.

Sey ni Julia, “Hello! Sorry no update the past few days, been on vacation mode and it’s been so nice to spend some quality time with RJ. Excited to share memories collected this weekend.”

NAINIS daw ang Kapuso actor na si Paul Salas sa naging unang reaksiyon niya nang malaman niyang sasali ang mommy niya na si Michelle Solinap sa Mrs. Universe Philippines.

Nainis na bakit ngayon pa ito sasali sa beauty pageant, pero at the same time, napangiti raw siya dahil na-realize niya na sinusunod nito ang pangarap.

At very proud na anak naman si Paul dahil isa sa six winners ang mommy niya at nakuha nito ang title na Mrs. Philippines Universe FDN-Continental Asia.

Kaya isa ang mommy ni Paul sa lalaban sa Korea with other title holders. So proud nga raw siya sa mommy niya lalo na at alam niya na wala raw ibang tumulong dito.

Aniya, “Proud po akong talaga. Walang tumulong kay Mom, halos kung hindi ako, mga friends niya lang ang nag-sponsor sa kanya. So sobrang nakaka-proud dahil deserve niyang talaga na makuha ‘yung title na ‘yon sa pagod pa lang.”

Nalungkot nga lang daw siya dahil wala siya sa mismong coronation night dahil nasa taping daw siya ng Mano Po.
