Filipinas makakaharap ang Vietnam para makakuha ng puwesto sa 2022 AFF Women’s Championship

MAGHAHARAP ang Filipinas womens football team at Vietnam para makakuha ng puwesto sa finals ng 2022 AFF Women’s Championship.

Nanguna kasi sa Group B ang Vietnam ng tambakan ang Myanmar 4-0 nitong Miyerkules habang ang Filipinas ay nasa Group A na nakuha ang panalo kontra Australia 1-0 sa pagsisimula ng torneo.

Inamin ni Philippines coach Alen Stajcic na sila ay underdog dahil ang Vietnam ay defending champion ng AFF Women’s Championship ganun din sa Southeast Asian Games.

Huling nagharap ang Filipinas at Vietnam ay noong 31st SEA Games kung saan tinalo nila ang pambato ng bansa 2-1.

Ang sinumang mananalo sa laban ng Vietnam at Filipinas ay siyang makakaharap ng sinumang manalo sa Myanmar at Thailand.

Magsisimula ang laban ng alas-8 ng gabi sa Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

‘Secret Headquarters’ First Trailer Reveals Owen Wilson In An Iron Man-Like Superhero

THE first trailer for Secret Headquarters reveals Owen Wilson in an Iron Man-like supersuit trying to protect Earth and be a father at the same time.

Wilson is joined by a cast that includes The Adam Project’s Walker Scobell, Michael Peña, Jesse Williams, Keith L. Williams, Momona Tamada, Abby James Witherspoon, and Kezii Curtis. The film is directed by Catfish’s Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman with Top Gun: Maverick’s Jerry Bruckheimer producing.

With a story by Thor: Ragnarok’s Christopher L. Yost and a script by Joost, Schulman, and Josh Koenigsberg, Secret Headquarters was announced as a Paramount+ original film in June. The plot revolves around a group of kids, led by Scobell’s Charlie, who discover a secret superhero headquarters hidden beneath Charlie’s home. Their discovery of the hidden lair alerts villains, forcing the kids to defend the high-tech base until help arrives.

In the first trailer for Secret Headquarters (via Paramount+) more of the original superhero film is revealed. The trailer has Wilson geared up in an Iron Man-like suit of armor that grants him powers bestowed by an alien power force that chose him to be the guardian of the planet. The kids appear to be a big focus of the film as they team up to defend the superhero’s headquarters, utilizing all manner of vehicles, tech, and mysterious powers to do so, frequently with hilarious results. Alongside Scobell, the cast features some familiar faces that make it more than a disposable family-film romp with goofy comedy. Scobell proved his chops alongside Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project, while Williams stole the show in the raunchy comedy Good Boys. Tamada is one of the main stars of The Baby-Sitter’s Club series and Kezii Curtis made waves as Sweartagawd in the indie hit Charm City Kings. It’s the first foray into the superhero genre for Schulman and Joost, who made the original documentary film Catfish, as well as Nerve and Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4.

Secret Headquarters looks to have a kind of MCU-meets-Spy-Kids vibe to it, which could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the execution. Wilson is always a fun presence and the rest of the cast seems up to the task of making the film an enjoyable ride. While superhero comedies don’t always hit their mark, Secret Headquarters has real potential to be something worthwhile given the creative talent behind it, which could potentially be a franchise starter for the streaming service.

Ayon kay Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, nagpaabot na sila ng pakikiramay at ginagawa nila ang lahat para maalalayan ang pamilya ni Mario Castro, na isang empleyado ng Information Communications Technology Office sa ilalim ng Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Accounting.

Samantala, iniimbestigahan na rin ng Manila Police District (MPD) ang ilang security personnel matapos mahulog mula sa ika-apat na palapag si Castro.

Ayon kay Lt. Adonis Aguila, hepe ng MPD – Homicide Section, mahalaga ang salaysay ng mga guwardiya ng Agilex Security Agency, dahil sila ang nakarinig ng pagkahulog at sila din ang unang dumating sa pinangyarihan ng insidente.

Libreng sakay ng mga estudyante limited na lamang sa LRT 2

BINAWI ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang naunang pahayag ang pagbibigay ng libreng sakay sa mga estudyente sa lahat ng rail lines maliban sa Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT2) matapos ang pamahalaan ay nagsabing hindi na makakayanan ang revenue losses na kanilang nararanasan.

“The DOTr has received an order from the President to offer free rides for students on LRT 2 only. The President removed MRT 3 and PNR from the program because the government will incur losses that can be used instead for rail maintenance,” wika ni DOTr undersecretary Cesar Chavez.

Ayon kay Chavez nag desisyon si Marcos na sa LRT 2 na lamang magbigay ng libreng sakay matapos makitang ang pamahalaan ay nalugi ng P515.9 million mula sa tatlong rail lines na nagbigay ng libreng sakay.

Sa naitalang datus, lumalabas na may 1,400 na estudyante lamang ang gumagamit ng MRT3 kumpara sa 4,500 na sumasakay sa LRT 2 na mga estudyante noong walang pa ang pandemya. Dahil dito minabuti ni Marcos na mag focus na lamang sa libreng sakay sa LRT 2 sapagkat ito ay dumadaan sa university belt.

Sinabi rin ni Chavez na ang pamahalaan ay nagbibigay ng subsidize na 80 porsiento para sa pamasahe sa PNR ng isang pasahero.

“It costs the PNR up to P362 to transport a commuter from Tutuban to Calamba, but it only charges P60 for the route that spans nearly 60 kilometers. The daily passenger count at the PNR reaches as high as 80,000 before the pandemic. Right now, the rail line just services more or less 25,000 per day. Given this, we want to allow PNR to recover the revenues it lost to the pandemic,” dagdag ni Chavez.

Ang isang alternatibong paraan ayon kay Marcos ay mabigyan ang mga estudyante ng automatic na 20 porsiento na discount sa kanilang pamasahe kung kayat binigyan niya ang DOTr na pag-aralan ang nasabing mungkahi. Binigyan ng instruction ni Marcos ang DOTr na pag-aralan kung paano ang mga turnstiles sa mga estasyon ay ma identify ang Beep cards ng mga estudyante upang mabigyan sila ng discount na 20 porsiento na siyang mandated ng batas.

Kung kaya’t nagbigay din ng instruction si Marcos na dahan-dahan ng alisin ang libreng sakay sa lahat ng rail lines kapalit ay ang pagbibigay na lamang ng 20 porsiento discount sa mga estudyante.

May mahigit na 29 million na mga pasahero ng tatlong rail lines ang nabigyan ng benipisyo ng libreng sakay mula noong March 28 hanggang June 30.

Samantala, isisusulong naman ni Congressman LRay Villafuerte ang pagbibigay ng libreng sakay kung saan hinihikayat niya ang DOTr at Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na magtulungan upang makahanap ng pondo para sa programa ng libreng sakay.

Ayon kay Villafuerte na ang pagpapatuloy ng programa ay mahalaga sa mga pasahero sa gitna ng tumataas ng presyon ng mga pangunahing bilihin at serbisyo kasama na ang transportasyon.

Sa Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) naman ay pinag-aaralan ang mungkahi na magdagdag ng mas madaming ruta para sa mga pampublikong transportasyon lalo na ang mga public utility jeepneys (PUJs) at buses para sa darating na pagbubukas ng face-to-face klase ngayon August.

Nangako naman si LTFRB chairman Cheloy Garafil na pagagandahin pa nila ang serbisyo ng EDSA Carousel na ipagpapatuloy hanggang December. Nangako rin si Garafil na madadaliin nila ang mga payouts sa mga concerned operators ng EDSA Carousel na naaantala ang bayad sa mga partner operators at drivers. LASACMAR

Full Trailer For ‘Rob Zombie’s The Munsters’ Reboot Was Recently Released

THE trailer for Rob Zombie’s The Munsters was recently released, and fans of the classic TV series are extremely divided.

Set to release in September 2022, the film serves as a prequel and reboot of the original ’60s television show of the same name, which ran for two seasons. Zombie’s prequel follows the origins of Herman and Lily Munster and the love story that unfolds. The reboot stars Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa.

Rob Zombie is best known for his work within the horror genre, notably the Firefly trilogy and 2007’s Halloween reboot. Despite Zombie and his wife Sheri Moon Zombie being huge fans of The Munsters television series, fans were immediately concerned when it was announced he was helming a reboot, given his previous gruesome horror movies.

The director has continuously kept fans in the loop on the film’s progress, most recently in the form of The Munsters official trailer, which offered new plot details and a fresh look at Zombie’s surprisingly colorful take on The Munsters.

When the official trailer for The Munsters was released, fan reactions were split over Zombie’s take on the franchise. Fans of the original show and critics of Zombie alike voiced concerns over the style and direction of The Munsters reboot, stating that the film appears cheaply made and even a parody of the source material.

Others defended the trailer, noting that the 1964 series was always campy and over-acted, and the film is a love letter to the original.

Zombie has long said The Munsters is a passion project for him and that he wanted to make it as authentic to the original series as possible. Previous teases of the movie certainly seemed like he was fulfilling that promise, so it’s a shame this latest update is receiving such mixed responses.

It’s possible the trailer doesn’t do The Munsters justice, but it is clearly not what fans were expecting from the reboot. The Munsters is completely different than anything Zombie has done in the past and it doesn’t look like fans are quite sold on him taking on a PG property.

Universal will continue to ramp up the marketing for The Munsters with September quickly approaching. Unfortunately, it is too late to make any significant changes since The Munsters has officially wrapped filming.

It’s possible the film can be visually changed with the colors being toned down, but even that won’t correct the major problems fans seem to be having with the movie. Some are hesitant to cast judgment on the film until they see it, yet the mixed reactions to the full-length trailer is a troubling development for Zombie’s The Munsters. (source: screenrant.com)

Fuel subsidy program handang ipagpatuloy ng pamahalaan sakaling manatiling mataas ang presyo ng langis sa PH

MAGPAPATULOY ang pamamahagi ng tulong pinansyal ng pamahalaan para sa mga sektor ng transportasyon at agrikultura ayon kay Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno.

Ipinahayag ito ni Diokno matapos ang isinagawang kauna-unahang pagpupulong ng economic team ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Aniya, handa ang gobyerno na ipagpatuloy ang pamamahagi ng nasabing ayuda para sa mga kababayan nating lubhang apektado ng sunud-sunod na mataas na singil sa produktong petrolyo bansa.

Ngunit sinabi niya na sa mga susunod na taon ay inaasahan nang magiging stable ang presyuhan ng langis sa pandaigdigang merkado matapos na ibalita ni Department of Budhet and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman na posibleng pumalo na lamang sa USD70 hanggang USD90 ang kada bariles ng Dubai crude oil pagsapit ng taong 2024-2028 dahil inaasahan aniyang magiging stable na ang supply nito sa mga panahon na iyon.

Samantala, sa kabilang banda naman ay sinabi rin ni Pangandaman na bagama’t sinabi ng pamahalaan na handa itong ipagpatuloy ang fuel subsidy program ay wala pa aniya silang natatanggap na kahilingan mula sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) na ipagpatuloy ang pagpopondo para dito.

Gilas Pilipinas tinalo ng Lebanon 95-80

NABIGO ang Gilas Pilipinas sa kamay ng Lebanon 95-80 sa pagsisimula ng 2022 FIBA Asia Cup sa Jakarta, Indonesia.

Umabot pa sa 21 points ang naging kalamangan ng Lebanon hanggang nagtulungan ang Gilas squad sa pamamagitan nina SJ Belangel, Rhenz Abando at Carl Tamayo para mapababa sa siyam ang kalamangan ng Lebanon 74-83.

Subalit nagpatuloy pa rin ang Lebanon sa kanilang pagdomina ng laro.

Dahil sa talo ay tabla na ang Gilas sa India sa Group D na wala pang panalo at isang talo habang ang Lebanon at New Zealand ay kapwa mayroong isang panalo at walang talo.

Nasayang naman ang ginawang 17 points ni Belangel habang mayroon tig- 15 points sina Ray Parks at Tamayo.

Susunod na makakaharap ng Gilas ang India sa July 15 dakong alas-4 ng hapon.

‘Mass layoffs’ ibinabala ng gov’t workers sa planong streamlining ng DBM

PINALAGAN ng isang grupo ng mga empleyado ng gobyerno ang planong “streamlining” ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., bagay na magdudulot daw ng malawakang kawalang trabaho.

Miyerkules nang sabihin ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman na makakatipid ang gobyerno ng P14.8 bilyon kada taon kung magtatanggal ng 5% ng workforce nito sa ngalan ng “rightsizing” ng burukrasya. Tinatayang 2 milyong empleyado ang maaapektuhan.

“Every new administration always plans to reorganize and streamline the bureaucracy. The Marcos Jr. administration is not exempt from this,” wika ng grupong Confederation for Unity Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees (COURAGE), Huwebes.

“And in every reorganization undertaken by every administration, rank-and-file government employees are the first to be affected through mass layoffs.”

Una nang sinabi ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na ang pondong matitipid ay maaari pa sana kasing magamit para sa infrastructure projects at sa social services gaya ng kalusugan, agrikultura, atbp.

Bukod pa riyan, ginagawa raw ito upang maayos ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno na may “repetitive” at “overlapping functions.”

Ika-30 lang ng Hunyo nang lagdaan ni Marcos Jr. ang Executive Order 1 na siyang bumubuwag sa Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) habang nire-reorganize ng pangulo ang mga ahensyang may duplicated at overlapping official functions. Ito’y kahit na sangkot sa nakaw na yaman ang kanyang amang si dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

“Plans to streamline the government, which would result in mass layoffs and dislocation of government workers, are part of neoliberal policies to ensure that foreign and local elite interests come first before the needs of the people,” dagdag pa ng Courage kanina.

Kabalintunaan daw ito lalo na’t 2/3 diumano ng buwis na nakokolekta ng gobyerno taun-taon ay napupunta naman daw talaga sa pambayad utang, korapsyon, “pork barrel atbp. kaysa infrstructure at serbisyo publiko. Aminado ang kaalyado ng Courage na Kabataan party-list na may mga redundant institutions gaya ng PACC, ngunit problematiko raw ito dahil ililipat kay Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez — dating tagapagsalita ni Marcos Jr. — ang kapangyarihan ng ahensya.

“In the end, efforts streamlining and reorganizing the Office of the President to combat corruption will be futile if no investigation of all alleged corruption reports linked to the Rodrigo Duterte administration will be made, and if the ill-gotten wealth and unpaid taxes of the Marcoses will be left unrecovered,” sabi naman ng Kabataan.

Imbis na malawakang tanggalan sa trabaho, nananawagan ang Courage sa administrasyon ng mas episiyenteng pagkolekta ng buwis, paglaban sa korapsyon at pagsasayang ng pera ng gobyerno at pagbawi sa ill-gotten wealth ng mga opisyal para mas lumaki ang kaban ng bayan kaysa isangkalan ang mga government workers. Ginebra nakuryente sa Meralco

PINALAKAS ng Meralco ang kanilang pag-asa sa quarterfinals matapos basagin ang Barangay Ginebra, 90-73, sa 2022 PBA Philippine Cup kahapon sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Kumolekta si Chris Newsome ng 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists at 2 steals para sa 5-3 record ng Bolts tampok ang dalawang sunod na panalo.

Nag-ambag si Chris Banchero ng 17 markers at may 14 at 10 markers sina Cliff Hodge at Bong Quinto, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
