SA latest Instagram post ni Carmina Villarroel na kung saan nagpalipad sila ng mga baloons para sa yumaong ama na si Regy Villarroel pagkalipas ng higit isang linggo.

Sa naturang post ni Mina, nakiramay si BB Gandanghari sa pamamagitan ng nakata-touch na mensahe sa dating asawa.

Ayon kay BB na kilala pa dati bilang si Rustom Padilla noong relasyon magkarelasyon ni Mina, “I’m so sorry to hear. My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to you and your family. Daddy Regy is one of the most respectable, kindest and coolest person I have ever met.”

Dagdag pa niya, “I feel privileged and pleased to have come to know your Dad that I’ve looked up to him from afar. I share with your grief at this time of bereavement. May the God Almighty grant your Dad eternal peace. 🖤💔 Hugs to you…. 🙏”

Last week nga, ibinahagi ni Carmina ang pagdadalamhati sa pagpanaw ng kanyang pinakamamahal na ama.
“Daddy Regy you’re reunited with Mommy Menchu. Your one and only. Your first and last,” sabi pa ng aktres na ibinahagi ang old photo ng ama at kanyang ina.

Tuwang-tuwa naman ang netizens nang mabasa ang comment na ito ni BB:

TYPE i-revive ni Saviour Ramos ang Sexballs Dancers na ang mga original members ay sina Michael V., Antonio Aquitania, Ogie Alcasid at ang ama niyang si Wendell Ramos.

Unang lumabas ang Sexballs Dancers sa isang segment ng Bubble Gang hanggang sa naging most-requested performance na ito ng naturang gag show.

Noong pinapanood kay Saviour ang pagsayaw ng Sexballs sa song na “Donya” sa Kapuso Web Specials, natuwa ito at gusto niyang buhayin ang Sexballs Dancers kung mabibigyan siya ng pagkakataon.

Sey pa ng Sparkle Hunk: “If ako ‘yung papapiliin kung sino ‘yung kasama ko, siyempre hindi na ako lalayo. Si Kokoy de Santos, sobrang solid kong friend ‘yan and may bonding na kami, I swear. Ang sarap kasama niyan, nakakatawa. Second, si Buboy Villar, sobrang isa pang nakakatawa kapag magkakasama kami sa dressing room, nonstop talaga si Buboy. And ‘yung third, si Kuya Sef Cadayona So, lahat nasa ‘Bubble Gang’ na, ‘di ba, gusto n’yo yon?”

Okey lang daw kay Saviour na pati ang costume na suot ng Sexballs Dancers na maikling black shorts lang tapos topless. Pagpapatawa naman daw ang gagawin nila kaya walang mag-iisip ng anumang malisya.

Ngayon pa lang ay hinihintay na ng mga beki netizen ang pag-revive ng Sexballs Dancers dahil parang mga sariwang karne sa kanila sina Saviour, Kokoy, Buboy at Sef na puwedeng pisilin at lapirut-lapirutin!

INAMIN ni Michelle Madrigal na kahit malapit na siyang ma-divorce sa kanyang estranged husband na si Troy Woolfolk, hindi pa rin daw siya totally happy dahil malungkot daw ang maging single mother.

Sa vlog ni Michelle, ibinahagi niya na nakakaramdam siya lungkot dahil hindi buo ang pinangarap niyang pamilya. Lumalabas daw na parang third wheel siya sa mga mothers na may masaya at kumpletong pamilya.

“Singlehood, single motherhood, it can get pretty lonely. Kasi sometimes, if you want to hang out, ikaw lang ‘yung odd doon. Ikaw ‘yung odd number; Lahat may family. ‘Pag in-invite ka minsan, ‘Oh, I’ve already made plans with the girls, with all the other moms or whatever.’ They are all just talking about their kids, their husband. And you were like, ‘Okay.’ I don’t want to be that girl na kapag inimbita na, ‘Oh, she’ll come alone.’ Ano ako, parang lagi lang akong third wheel, ganoon? Or fourth wheel or fifth wheel? Ngayon ay nasa company si Michelle ng mga tulad niyang single mother. Mas nakaka-relate daw siya sa mga ito dahil pareho ang kanilang nararamdaman at pinagdaanan.

Pinaalam din ni Michelle na nakalipat na siya sa bagong bahay kasama ang anak niyang si Anika.

KASAMA sa Marvel film na Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ang Filipino-American actor na si Nico Santos.

Nakilala si Nico sa hit comedy series na Superstore as the undocumented Filipino employee Mateo Aquino Liwanag at sa pelikulang Crazy Rich Asians.

Ito ang first Marvel film ni Nico kaya sobra itong na-excite nang isama siya sa cast at natapos na ang shooting nila.

Post niya sa Instagram: “PUNCH ME! I mean pinch me! We wrapped a month ago but I’ve thought about my time on set every day since. HUMINGI ng panalangin si Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown sa mga mananampalataya para sa kalusugan ng Santo Papa.

Sinabi ng lider ng Simbahan na ang problema sa ‘tuhod’ ng Papa ay nagresulta sa kanselasyon ng kamakailan niyang pakikipag-ugnayan.

“Let us pray for Pope Francis, especially during this time. Because of his knee that has been causing a lot of pain and difficulty, he postponed some of his activities,” sabi ni Archbishop Brown sa Radio Veritas.

Nauna nang ipinagpaliban ng Vatican ang Apostolic trip ni Pope Francis sa South Sudan at Congo noong Hulyo 2 hanggang 7 kasunod ng payo ng kanyang mga doktor.

Sinabi rin ng Holy See Press Office na kailangang laktawan ni Pope Francis ang Corpus Christi Mass at Procession dahil sa kanyang kondisyon. Nakatakdang ipagdiwang ng Simbahang Romano Katoliko ang Kabanal-banalang Katawan at Dugo ni Kristo (Corpus Christi) sa Linggo, Hunyo 19.

MARCOS, DUTERTE GIVE WARM GREETINGS TO ROMUALDEZ ON DAY OF OATH-TAKING

TACLOBAN CITY – THE top two incoming leaders of the country, President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and incoming Vice President Sara Duterte, gave warm congratulatory remarks to House Majority Leader and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin G. Romualdez Wednesday morning during the occasion of the latter’s oath-taking as the reelected Leyte 1st District congressman.

The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Remedios T. Romualdez Medical Foundation Gymnasium in Calanipawan Road here and was personally attended by Duterte, who is Romualdez’s party-mate at the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).

Romualdez sits as party president while Dutere is the chairperson.

Marcos, on the other hand, greeted Romualdez and other Leyte poll winners via video message.

“I would just like to add my congratulations to the officers and officials taking their oath today, namely of course the honorable Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez who is taking his oath as congressman, the first district, and is the incoming Speaker of the House of Representatives,” Marcos said.

The incoming chief executive likewise greeted Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez and Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre, who also took their oath during the same event.

“I look forward to working with you all very, very closely. As I say to all our number, is that the problems we are facing now and post-pandemic are going to be serious challenges and that is why I ask all of you for your help in making the country better and making the lives of our people better,” Marcos said.

“But today, let us celebrate the oath-taking of our officials, and congratulations from me. Looking forward to working with you in the next six years. Congratulations sa inyong lahat,” said Marcos, who was all smiles in his video.

For her part, Duterte, in her speech thanked Romualdez for taking her in Lakas-CMD, which is among the oldest and most respected political parties in the country.

The presidential daughter also had words of appreciation for Romualdez in connection with his role as one of her two campaign managers during this year’s election.

“I’d like to personally thank publicly thank Cong. Martin Romualdez for taking me in, in Lakas-CMD and accepting the challenge to be my campaign manager, one of my two, campaign managers during the last election. It was not without…and challenges but you did very well.. 32.2 miillion votes,” Duterte said.

Duterte said Romualdez “did it all” for her, covering for even her meals during the grueling campaign season.

“You did it all and alam niyo, pagod, puyat, luha, lahat ‘yon ni Cong. Martin Romualdez and as a candidate I’m truly appreciative of how he took care of me, actually silang dalawa, dalawang campaign managers ko, I was always with food, I was always full and lagi silang nagpapalitan na nagpapadal ng pagkain sa akin, so one campaign manager will send today, the next day, the other campaign manager will send food,” Duterte narrated.

“In fact, noong kinwento ko ‘yun kay Pres. Marcos, sabi ko sir, napakaswerte ko talaga dahil busog ako lagi dahil lagi akong pinapadalhan. Sabi niya, ‘Nasaan na ba mga campaign managers ko, bakit hindi ganito ang nangyayari sa akin?'” Duterte said.

“So I truly thankful for all that happened because, a learning experience from me, and I am appreciative of all that you have taught me, kayong lahat, mga kababayan ko, and I commit to be beside you in the service of our country,” Duterte added.

Presyo ng mga prime commodities at basic goods, pasok pa rin sa SRP – DTI

NILINAW ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na pasok pa rin sa May 11 suggested retail price (SRP) ang presyo ng prime commodities at basic goods na ibinibenta sa mga supermarkets at grocery stores.

Kung kaya’t hinihikayat ng DTI ang mga consumers na bumili sa mga supermarkets kung saan regulated ng ahensiya ang presyo ng mga bilihin.

Batay sa monitoring ng DTI, majority sa mga basic necessities at prime commodities sa kanilang listahan ay pareho sa mga presyo na nasa SRP subalit mayroong ilan na ang presyo ay mas mababa sa SRP.

Para masuri ang mga presyo ng bilihin, maaaring maidownload ng mga consumers ang e-Presyo application form mula sa dti.gov.ph para makita ang mga stores na nagbebenta ng mga produkto na may mababang presyo.

DOH, nakapagtala ng 16 pang kaso ng highly transmissible Omicron subvariants

NAKAPAGTALA ang Pilipinas ng 16 pang kaso ng highly transmissible omicron subvariants na BA.5 at BA.2.12.1.

Ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, ang bilang ng mga bagong impeksyon ay nagpataas sa kabuuang kaso ng BA.5 at BA.2.12.1 sa buong bansa sa 11 at 39.

Anim pang kaso ng BA.5 ang natagpuan, kung saan dalawa ay mula sa Metro Manila, at tig-isa mula sa Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, at Northern Mindanao, habang inaalam pa ang lokasyon ng natitirang pasyente.

Apat na pasyente naman ang ganap na nabakunahan habang tinitingnan pa ng DOH ang status ng iba.

Limang indibidwal ang na-tag bilang naka-recover habang ang isa ay nananatili sa home isolation.

Samantala, 10 pang kaso ng BA.2.12.1, isang sublineage ng nangingibabaw na variant ng Omicron BA.2, ang natukoy.

Apat na pasyente ay mula sa Metro Manila, dalawa mula sa Calabarzon, tig-isa mula sa Cagayan Valley, Bicol region, at Western Visayas, at isa ay isang returning overseas Filipino.

Tatlong indibidwal ang ganap na nabakunahan at ang inoculation status ng mga natitirang pasyente ay biniberipika pa.

Dalawa naman ang may banayad na sintomas, tatlo ay asymptomatic, at ang mga sintomas ng limang pasyente ay patuloy na tinitingnan, ayon pa kay Vergeire.

Walong pasyente ang naka-recover, isang kaso ang nananatiling aktibo, habang ang isa ay patuloy na biniberipika, aniya.

RTF-ELCAC, hinikayat ang CHR na imbestigahan ang presensiya ng 4 na menor de edad sa ginawang pag-aresto sa Tarlac farmers

HINIKAYAT ng Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) ang Commission on Human Rights (CHR) na imbestigahan ang presensiya ng apat na menor de edad na kasama sa inaresto sa Tarlac noong Hunyo 9.

Sa press conference, hinikayat ni Western Visayas RTF-ELCAC prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales ang CHR na alamin kung sino ang nagdala sa mga menor de edad sa Concepcion.

“Dapat maimbestigahan kung anong ginagawa nila doon. At ‘yung dapat managot niyan, CHR, is ‘yung talagang nag imbita sa kanila doon na halata namang pang gugulo ‘yung puno’t dulo nitong ginawa n’yong pagkilos,” anito.

Sa kabilang dako, sinabi naman ni PRO3 Regional Director Police Brigadier Matthew Baccay na 91 katao ang inisyal na inaresto.

Gayunman, pinakawalan din ang ilang dayuhan at apat na menor de edad.

“So do not only focus on, you know, the allegations against our police. But we should also look into the best interests nung mga bata… Alam ba nung mga magulang na hinila niyo ‘yung mga anak nila doon?” ayon kay Gonzales.

Sinabi pa ni Gonzales na dapat lang na tingnan at alamin ng CHR ang sinasabing grupo na nag-organisa ng assembly.

“Dahil ‘yung naapektuhan nito ‘yung mga farmers, ‘yung mga miyembro ng Tinang Multipurpose Cooperative,” anito.

“Sila rin po ay mga marginalized at sila rin ay nawalan ng mga pananim na tubo dahil sa ginawa nitong mga nahuli ng ating kapulisan… mga biktima din po sila,” dagdag na pahayag ni Gonzales.

Sa kabilang dako, sinabi naman ni NTF-ELCAC spokesperson Lorraine Badoy, nahaharap sa multiple raps dahil sa pagdawit sa ilang grupo at personalidad sa armed communist movement, na ang mga miyembro ng Karapatan ang nasa likod ng insidente.

“The CHR, if they’re very serious and sincere about getting to the bottom of this should investigate that, they should investigate our allegation that behind this is Pia Montalban of Karapatan that is a front of the CPP-NPA-NDF and who brought these children there,” ayon kay Badoy.

Samantala, pinabulaanan naman ni Baccay ang alegasyon ng ‘physical and mental abuse’ at inhumane conditions sa detention facility.

Sinabi ng CHR iniimbestigahan nila ang kaso at nagsisimula nang mangalap ng impormasyon mula sa mga inarestong indibiduwal, magsasaka na naghain ng reklamo at Philippine National Police Office personnel.

Sinabi ni Baccay na pumalag ang mga magsasaka na maaresto at ang mga ito pa aniya ang nanakit sa mga pulis. (Daris Jose)

TOM HANKS PLAYS THE SHADY MANAGER OF “ELVIS” PRESLEY

OSCAR-WINNER Tom Hanks stars as Elvis Presley’s enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker in Warner Bros.’ “Elvis,” an epic, big-screen spectacle from visionary, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann that explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler).

As told by Parker, the film delves into the complex dynamic between the two spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America.

“While this story is called ‘Elvis,’ it’s also Colonel Tom Parker’s story—the telling of it at least; he’s our way in, our narrator, and an unreliable one at that,” states writer/director/producer Baz Luhrmann, whose extensive research into the music icon Elvis aided in his discovery of the strange partnership behind the artist’s public success and personal struggles.

“As I like to say, Colonel Tom Parker was never a colonel, never a Tom, never a Parker, but a fascinating character all the same. He was a carnival barker dedicated to finding that one great act.

“Nineteen-year-old Elvis Presley had lived for a period of time in one of the few white-designated houses in a Black section of Tupelo, Mississippi,” the filmmaker continues, “where, along with a group of neighborhood friends, he absorbed the music of both the local juke joints and the Pentecostal revival tents. As he grew up, he fused this with his love of country music. Parker had no ear for music whatsoever, but he was absolutely struck by the effect Elvis’s whole package had on young audiences. As the Colonel says in the film, ‘It was the greatest carnival act I had ever seen.’”

Lurhmann further adds that, “In the mid-1950s in parts of America, carnivals were transitioning into music, mainly country and western. But Parker was always looking for the extraordinary—the one that made the most money, had a great costume, excited the audience, had a strange twist… Just something special, like Elvis.”

Luhrmann recruited Tom Hanks to play the role of Parker, stating, “I’d never worked with Tom previously, but I just told him the story and before I even got to the video I’d brought along to show him what I had in mind, he said, ‘Well, if you want me I’m your guy.’ What a gift!”

Hanks has said of the real-life Parker, “He was both a genius and a scoundrel. He was a very disciplined man, a wicked smart businessman and a dime-squeezing skinflint, but also a pioneer in a big type of show business that did not exist until Elvis Presley came along. He knew instantaneously that Elvis was a unique artist, he saw his grand potential and knew that if he didn’t make a ton of money off him, somebody else would.”

As Luhrmann reveals in the film, money was a key motivator and, as such, Parker was also possibly the first person to see the financial potential beyond the music: merchandising. “He sees how this boy, Elvis, has an effect on an audience, an effect like he’s never seen before and certainly beyond anything he’s seen on the carnival circuit,” the filmmaker notes. “To Tom Parker, it’s the greatest carnival act he’s ever witnessed, and he must have it.”

In cinemas across the Philippines starting June 22, “Elvis” is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Naitatalang daily COVID 19 cases sa NCR, malaki ang posibilidad na umabot na sa 400 hanggang 500 sa katapusan ng buwan – OCTA Research

TINATAYANG papalo na sa 400 hanggang 500 cases kada araw ang nakikitang projection ng Octa Research na maitatalang kaso ng COVID 19 pagdating ng June 30.

Sa Laging Handa public briefing, sinabi Dr Guido David na sadyang papabilis ang kasong naire- record araw- araw.

Aniya, naobserbahan nila na sa mga nakaraang mga linggo na 53% ang itinataas ng kaso mula lamang sa 10%.

Tumaas din ayon kay David ang 7 day average sa mula sa 86 to 131 cases per day gayundin ang reproduction number na ngayon ay nasa 1.59 na aniya.

At maging ang pati positivity rate ay nasa 2.7 % na habang bahagyang tumaas na din ang hospital care utilization rate dito sa Kalakhang Maynila. (Daris Jose)

LABAS-masok man sa krusyal na bahagi ng fourth quarter sa panalo ng Golden State Warriors sa Boston Celtics sa Game Four ng NBA Finals noong Sabado ay isa pa rin si Draymond Green sa mga aasahan ni coach Steve Kerr sa Game Five ngayon (Manila time).
