DINGDONG at MARIAN, kinumpirma na tuloy na ang bagong project sa GMA na malamang na isang sitcom

KINUMPIRMA na ng Kapuso Primetime Queen na si Marian Rivera, gayundin naman ang Kapuso Primetime King na si Dingdong Dantes na may gagawin na nga silang bagong proyekto sa GMA-7.

Kinumpirma nila ito sa naganap na GMA Pinoy TV Fun Con. Isang bonggang “Yes!” ang sagot ni Marian nang tanungin sila kung totoong magtatambal na silang muling mag-asawa.

Sinegundahan din naman ito ni Dingdong.

Wala pang detalye sa kung anong proyektong pagsasamahan nila, though, hindi na kami magtataka kung isang sitcom ito.

Siyempre, excited na ang mga DongYan fans lalo na nga at matagal na silang hindi napapanood magkasama. At si Marian ay hindi rin tumanggap ng any acting job simula pandemic.

Although, in fairness sa dalawa na kahit replay na at matagal na ang Endless Love, isa pa rin ito sa may mataas na ratings sa primetime ng Kapuso network.

DAHIL daw sa pandemic, may mga nari-realize talaga si Kim Chiu sa mga bagay-bagay.

Sa mahabang Instagram post niya, shinare niya ang isang pangyayari na namatay ang mag-ina at hindi halos nagagamit ng ina ang signature bag na niregalo rito ng asawa nito.

Ang dahilan, nire-reserve sa mga special occasions. Naka-relate siguro si Kim bilang kilala itong mahilig talagang mangolekta ng mga luxury bags.

So, na-realize niya raw na lalo na sa panahon nga, gawing special ang bawat araw dahil hindi mo alam kung ano ang mangyayari sa kinabukasan.

Ayon kay Kim, “A friend of mine shared this to me and might as well share it here.

“The mom died recently together with her daughter. The mom had a heart attack, and the daughter was due to covid19. The husband said while he was cleaning his wifes’ closet, he saw the signature bag he gave as his present to his wife and remembered that the wife said she would only use it only on special occasions as far as he remembered she was able to use it twice, one on her birthday and one on her daughters birthday. Then he saw the beautiful porcelain collection on the wine cabinet, and the wife told the husband I would wait for a special occasion for me to use this. But that day never came.

“I realized that nowadays, with everything that is going on right now. Let us not wait for that special day to come. Let’s treat EVERYDAY AS A SPECIAL DAY because we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, the day after, or weeks, months, etc. Life should be an experience we cherish and not a life that we must live by. Don’t save good things for special days anymore. Every day you live is a special day. Let’s not wait for tomorrow, whatever it is that you feel like doing, do it now.”

James Bond’s Stolen Aston Martin Car, Found 25 Years After Its Disappearance

James Bond‘s iconic stolen car has reportedly been found 25 years after its disappearance.

The secret agent was first seen driving the Aston Martin DB5 in 1964 during the franchise’s third film, Goldfinger. Although Bond creator Ian Fleming imagined his character driving a DB Mark III by the company, the film’s special effects expert John Stears convinced Aston Martin to let the team use a DB5 prototype.

Sean Connery sat in the driver’s seat as the fictional MI6 agent, utilizing the specially-equipped vehicle’s various weapons and gadgets to complete his missions. Goldfinger began a long love affair between Bond and Aston Martin.

Over the course of Bond history, 007 has become almost synonymous with the luxury British car. The exact same one was used in the next film, Thunderball, and various versions of the sports car were featured in the franchise afterwards. One of the four original gadget-filled Aston Martins was sold at auction in 1986 to real estate mogul Anthony Pugliese for $275,000.

But in 1997, the prized prop vanished without a trace from its storage hangar at Boca Raton airport in Florida. At the time, the car was insured for a whopping $4.2 million.

Now, 25 years after the Aston Martin’s disappearance, The Telegraph reports that the original car has been found. The VIN number of a recently spotted DB5 matches that of the stolen car seen in the Bond film. Investigators believe that the iconic Aston Martin is a part of a private collection somewhere in the Middle East. This rare model is reportedly worth £18.2 million, or roughly $25 million.

Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 is considered to be one of the most famous cars in the world. What’s more, the original model used in the film should still be tricked out with all of the bells and whistles, including various weapons, tire shredders, a bulletproof windshield, smoke distributors, and the agent’s landmark ejector seat. The only other remaining original Aston Martin DB5 used in filming was sold at an auction in 2010 for $4.6 million.

Although the James Bond and Aston Martin have entered a more promotional relationship in recent years, the spy’s original ride is much more than a car. The Aston Martin has become a beloved and consistent character in the 007 universe, spawning toy replicas and even limited edition reproductions from the manufacturer.

Though other models have raced onto the screen in the Bond franchise, the DB5 will always be a fan favorite. It has appeared in not only Goldfinger and Thunderball, but also Goldeneye, Casino Royale and Skyfall.

A reproduction of the car will next appear in the highly-anticipated Bond film No Time to Die, starring Daniel Craig and will hopefully stay in safe hands this time around.

Anyway, No Time To Die will complete Bond’s emotional arc that began in Casino Royale and that serialization has been a key factor in the success of Craig’s films,

With No Time To Die facing multiple delays over the last year and a half, anticipation for the film has stayed steady, both because any Bond film is cause for celebration and because it will be Craig’s last go in the role, showing worldwide on October 8, 2021.

Some speculate that James Bond could die in the upcoming film, a fitting end for what has been one of the most successful runs of the franchise yet. Still, many are already looking to the future after No Time To Die, wondering who could take over the role and whether or not they’ll be able to live up to Craig’s performance.

COVID-19 cases sa Metro Manila, posibleng umakyat sa 60K kada araw – OCTA

Muling nagpalabas ng panibagong babala ang OCTA Research Group kahapon sa pagsasabing maaaring umabot sa 60,000 ang arawang bilang ng aktibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa Metro Manila lamang sa pagtatapos ng Setyembre.

“Ang nakikita natin ay ‘yung active cases natin maaaring umabot ng 60,000. Baka 70,000 mataas na ‘yan,” ayon kay Dr. Guido David, miyembro OCTA Research.

Sinabi rin ni Guido na hindi pa tapos ang patuloy na pagtaas ng mga bagong kaso. Maaaring maganap ang ‘surge’ nito sa kalagitnaan pa ng Setyembre kung magpapatuloy ang trend ng mga naitatalang bagong kaso ngayon.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa 1.64 ang reproduction rate ng COVID-19 sa Metro Manila. Upang masabing bumababa na ang hawahan, kailangang maibaba ito sa 1.0.

Nitong Agosto 22, nakapagtala ng 36,054 aktibong kaso sa Metro Manila.

Nagkaroon naman umano ng magandang pagbabago sa sitwasyon ng Metro Manila sa pagsunod sa protocols at polisiya sa loob ng dalawang linggong ECQ ngunit hindi dapat magpakampante dahil sa presensya ng Delta variant.

“Ibig sabihin, dominant na talaga siya. Siya na ang pinakaprevalent na variant sa Pilipinas ngayon,” dagdag ni David. (Daris Jose)

Movie nina Daniel at Charo, nagwagi ng ‘Youth Jury Prize’ sa 74th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland

NAGWAGI na naman ang Globe Studios ng another prestigious international award dahil ang movie na Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine) ang nanalo ng Cinema e Gioventu Prize (Youth Jury Prize) in the recent 74th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

Produced alongside local production houses Cinematografica, Plan C, House on Fire, Quantum Films, iWanTFC, Dreamscape, Blacksheep, CBM Films, and international partners AAND Company (Singapore), KawanKawan Media (Indonesia), Weydemann Bros. (Germany), ang Whether the Weather is Fine ay ang nag-iisang Philippine film na napili para mag-compete sa Locarno Festival’s Concorso Cineasti del Presente (Filmmakers of the Present Competition). The festival is known for highlighting works from up and coming directors around the world.

Pinagbibidahan ito nina Daniel Padilla, Rans Rifol, at si Ms. Charo Santos-Concio, the film focuses on the story of a young man fighting to survive while searching desperately for missing loved ones.

Base ito sa personal na naranasan ng direktor na si Carlo Manatad mula sa aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda, na isa sa most powerful typhoons in history which devastated coastal regions in the Central Philippines eight years ago.

“The Cinema e Gioventu Award means a lot for me as a young filmmaker. As someone who just started delving into feature filmmaking, cinema for me, has always been a medium that transcends national and cultural boundaries. I am humbled and excited by this recognition and will continue to work hard in giving a voice to my fellow Filipinos through stories that have yet to be told,” pahayag ni Direk Manatad.

Ang Whether the Weather is Fine ay ang nag-iisang Pinoy film na invited to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year. It will be featured from September 9-18, 2021, under the Contemporary World Cinema section.

“Globe Studios plays a role in telling the stories of ordinary Filipinos. We fund and produce films that we see would allow audiences, local and foreign, to better appreciate our unique culture,” sabi ni Quark Henares, Head of Globe Studios.

Dagdag pa niya, “The film project (Whether the Weather is Fine) was already greenlit when I came into Globe Studios and even then, I knew it was a great story to tell — one that would not only enlighten its audiences, but also inspire the Filipinos amid these trying times.“

Naniniwala rin si Henares sa creative partnership between co-writer Gian Abraham, director Carlo Manatad, producer Armi Cacanindin, and executive producer Atty. Jojie Alonso integral to the final cut of the story.

Another short film by Manatad na co-produced ng Globe Studios ang The Imminent Immanent, na nag-world premiere din in TIFF noong 2018. A year before, Manatad’s Jodilerks dela Cruz, Employee of the Year, was also presented at the same venue.

Globe Studios is an entertainment production company that tells stories through silver screens, black boxes, and handheld devices since 2016. It prides itself on being creator-focused and bold with its content with films like LSS, Hintayin ng Langit, and the first Filipino Netflix film Dead Kids. This extends as well to television and online content, with genre-bending shows like Hello K-Idol, Disney Dream Big Princess, the Youtube Series Gaya sa Pelikula and the upcoming OTJ: The Series.

‘Wag ninyo akong gawing punching bag! – Sara

Binanatan ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte si Senator Koko Pimentel at Ronwald Musayac, executive director ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), dahil sa diumano’y paninisi sa kanya sa pagkakawatak ng partido.

Sinabi ni Sara na hindi siya isang ‘Last Two Minutes’ person at hindi siya papayag na maging isang political punching bag ng isang magulong partido.

“I am not a “Last two minutes” person I think, I organize and implement accor-dingly. In the meantime, I refuse to be a political punching bag for a party in complete disarray”, pahayag ng presidential daughter.

Sa statement ni Sara, sinabi nito na mismong si Duterte ang nagkumpirma sa kanya na tatakbo itong bise presidente samantalang si Go ang tatakbong presidente.

Sinabi ni Sara na dapat tigilan na ang paggamit sa kanyang pangalan at isangkalan upang hindi kumandidato sina Duterte at Go.

“I strongly suggest to the President and Senator Go to own up publicly their decision to run as a tandem. If they can confirm it privately, then I do not see the reason why they cannot be candid about it to the public,” ani Sara.

Inamin din ni Sara na nakatanggap sila ng dalawang sulat mula sa Presidente kung saan sa una ay hiniling nito na iindorso ang Go-Duterte tandem at ang pangalawa ay nagsusulong na kumandidato siyang presidente ka-tandem si Go.

Iginiit ni Sara na dapat ay tigilan na siya at iprisinta na lang sa publiko kung papaano sila makakatulong sa mga mamamayan. (Daris Jose)

Risk allowance ng 20K health workers mababayaran na

Nangako si Health Secretary Francisco Duque III na mababayaran na ang P311 Special Risk Allowance ng 20,000 pang healthcare workers.

Sa kanyang pagharap sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Health, sinabi ni Duque na natukoy na ang nasabing mga healthcare workers at maibibigay na ang SRA ng mga ito ngayong araw.

Una nang nagbanta ang grupo ng mga healthcare workers na magsasagawa ng mass resignation kapag hindi nabayaran ang kanilang mga SRA at iba pang mga allowance sa gitna na rin ng sakripisyo sa pagsabak sa COVID-19.

Bunsod nito, inatasan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Duque at ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na bayaran ang SRA at iba pang mga allowance ng medical frontliners sa loob ng 10 araw.

Samantala, aabot sa P7M ang utang ng PhilHealth sa bawat miyembro ng Philippine Hospital Association o kabuuang P86 bilyon sa mga hindi nabayarang claims partikular na sa COVID patients.

Sinabi ni PHA President Dr. Jaime Almora na ang P86 bilyon ay ang kabuuang halaga na ginastos ng mga ospital sa kanilang pasyente pero walang reimbursement sa PhilHealth.

Ayon kay Almora, nasa P13.6 bilyon ang denied claims, nasa P13 bilyon hanggang P16 bilyon ang in-process claims, at P46 bilyon ang Return to Hospital (RTH) claims. (Daris Jose)

Nakakakilig naman ang pagbati ni Ate Shawie.

May isang birthday greeting pa si Ate Shawie sa kanyang hubby.

Pero for sure, kahit na ano ang maging reaction ni Sen. Kiko, the fact remains that he and Sharon truly love each other. Lagi naman nakasuporta si Sen.Kiko sa mga projects ng kanyang loving wife.

P8 bilyong pisong intelligence fund, gagamitin sa mga terorista, komunista at drug lords- Sec. Roque

PATULOY pa rin ang banta ng mga terorista, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), komunista at mga drug lords kahit may pandemya.

Dito ani Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque mapupunta ang P8 bilyong piso sa national budget para sa surveillance ngayong taon.
“Hindi naman ibig sabihin na pandemya ay tigil na muna ang terorismo. Dyan napupunta ang ating intel fund at kasama na rin diyan.. sa mga benepisyong ibinibigay doon sa mga napapatay ng mga sundalo at mga kapulisan,” ayon kay Sec. Roque.

Sa ulat, sinasabing mas mababa ito kumpara sa nakaraang alokasyon.

Ayon sa Budget of Expenditures and Sources of Financing Tables na naka- attached sa 2022 National Expenditure Program (NEP) na isinumite ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso, naglaan ang pamahalaan ng P8.6 billion para sa intelligence at confidential expenses.

Sinasabing mas mababa ito ng P911,372,000 mula sa inilaan noong nakaraang taon.

Ang Intelligence expenses ay tumutukoy sa intelligence information-gathering activities ng uniformed at military personnel, at intelligence practitioners na mayroong direktang epekto sa national security.

Ang mga ahensiyang gumagamit ng intelligence funds ay kailangan na magsumite sa Pangulo ng “quarterly report” ukol sa accomplishments sa paggamit ng nasabing pondo.

Ang Confidential expenses, sa kabilang dako ay may kinalaman sa surveillance activities sa civilian government agencies na ang nilalayon ay suportahan ang mandato at operasyon ng ahensiya.

Ang mga ahensiya na gumagamit ng confidential funds ay kinakailangan na magsumite sa Pangulo at sa dalawang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ng “quarterly report” hinggil sa accomplishments sa paggamit ng naturang pondo. (Daris Jose)

Duterte tatakbong VP sa 2022 elections

Pormal nang tinanggap ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pag-eendorso sa kanya ng ruling party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) na tumakbong bise-presidente sa darating na halalan sa Mayo 2022.

Inanunsiyo noong Martes ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles, executive vice president ng PDP-Laban, na pumayag na ang Pangulo sa alok ng partido na tumakbong vice president sa darating na halalan.

Ani Nograles, nakipagpulong si Pangulong Duterte nitong Lunes sa mga opisyal ng partido.

“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte agreed to make the sacrifice and heed the clamor of the people, and accepted the endorsement of the PDP Laban Party for him to run as Vice President in the 2022 National Elections,” sabi ni Nograles.

Ang naturang paksyon ng PDP-Laban na pinamumunuan ni Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi ang siya ring nagnomina kay Sen. Bong Go para maging “manok” sa pampanguluhang karera sa 2022.

Matatandaang ipinahayag ng Pangulo na ikokonsidera o tatakbo lamang siya sa pagkabise-presidente kung ang magiging katambal o pangulo niya ay isang kapartido at makakasundo sa pagpapatakbo sa gobyerno.

Maaalala rin na ininomina o inendorso ng national executive council ng PDP-Laban ang tambalan nina Sen. Go at President Duterte para maging pambato nito sa darating na pambansang halalan.

Sinabi naman ni Sen. Go na hindi siya interesado na tumakbo sa pagka-pangulo.

“Nakatutok ako sa aking tungkulin bilang senador upang tulungan ang bansa na malampasan ang krisis na ating hinaharap. Bakuna muna bago pulitika. Mas mabuti unahin niyo na muna ’yung mga interesado na tumakbong Pangulo,” wika ni Go.

Ang Go-Duterte ang itinuturing na “super-tandem” at walang katibag-tibag sa darating na eleksyon dahil maraming naniniwala na ito ang magpapatuloy ng magagandang nasimulang programa at proyekto ng Duterte administration.

“As I have said many times before, I leave my fate to God, to the Dutertes (both PRRD and Mayor Sara) — kung ano man po ang kanilang magiging desisyon sa pulitika — and to the Filipino people to whom I owe this opportunity to serve our country. Sila po ang nagbigay sa akin ng pagkakataon na maglingkod kaya hindi ko po sasayangin ang oras na ito na makapagserbisyo sa aking kapwa Pilipino sa abot ng aking makakaya,” anang mambabatas. Pinay powerlifter sa Tokyo Paralympics nagpositibo sa COVID, coach ‘di na rin makakasama

Labis labis ang pagkadismaya ng isa sa mga atleta ng Pilipinas na sasabak sa 2020 Tokyo Paralympics matapos na hindi matuloy dahil sa nahawa sa COVID-19.

Una rito kinumpirma ni Philippine Paralympic Committee (PPC) president Michael Barredo na dinapuan ng virus si Filipina powerlifter Achele Guion.

Dahil dito maging ang kanyang coach na si Antonio “Tony” Taguibao ay hindi na rin makakasama sa delegasyon kung saan ngayong araw ang opening ceremony sa Tokyo, Japan.

Sinasabing sobra raw ang “frustrations” ni Guion bunsod ng kabiguan nitong maging kinatawan ng Pilipinas makaraan ang matagal din na paghahanda sa Paralympics.

Tutungo sana ito sa Tokyo dala ang inspirasyon sa naging panalo rin ng gold medal ni Hidilyn Diaz sa weigthlifting.

“Jinky is deeply frustrated that she will not be able to compete in her powerlifting event for her country after training for so long, and especially getting much inspiration from Hidilyn Diaz,” ani Barredo sa statement. “Despite this most unfortunate development, all our para athletes remain in high spirits and committed to give their best possible performances to bring honor and glory for our country.”

Sa ngayon limang mga Pinoy athletes na lamang ang sasabak sa paralympics na kinabibilangan ni wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan na lalaban sa tatlong events na men’s 400m, 100m, and 1500m.

Ang swimmer na si Ernie Gawilan ay dadalhin naman ang bandila ng Pilipinas sa men’s 200m individual medley (IM), 400m freestyle, at 100m backstroke.

Ang isa pang swimmer na si Gary Bejino ay nasa apat namang events ang sasalihan na kinabibilangan ng men’s 200m IM, 50m butterfly, 400m freestyle, at 100m backstroke.

Ang isa pang atleta na si Jeanette Aceveda ay sasabak sa women’s discus throw event habang ang taekwondo jin na si Allain Ganapin ay tatangkain namang makasungkit ng medalya sa men’s K44-75kg division.
