Tiniyak ng DA: walang pagtaas o paggalaw sa presyo ng gulay sa NCR dahil kay bagyong Florita

TINIYAK ng Department of Agriculture (DA) na walang magaganap na pagsirit sa presyo ng gulay sa Kalakhang Maynila sa kabila ng matinding epekto ng  Severe Tropical Storm Florita.

Ang katuwiran ni  DA Undersecretary Kristine Evangelista, patuloy silang nagsasagawa ng  assessment  upang ma-identify ang halaga ng pinsala sa agrikultura at maging i-monitor ang suplay sa  Ilocos Norte.

“Ilocos Norte is not Metro Manila’s only source since we are looking at only 220 metric tons, of which only 2 metric tons are vegetables. The rest is basically rice. So we do not expect the prices of vegetables here in Metro Manila to move due to storm and its effects in Ilocos Norte at this point,” ayon kay Evangelista.

Makikita kasi sa inisyal na data  na ang pinsala sa agrikultura at pagkalugi sa  Ilocos Norte ay umabot na sa P3.01 million, naapektuhan ang 310 magsasaka.

Ani Evangelista,  “DA interventions are already in place and mobile Kadiwa stores are on standby in the region in case of need.”

“We have biologics for our affected livestock raisers. We also have rice, corn, and vegetable seeds for farmers needing aid,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, mayroon ang nasabing departamento ng  quick response fund (QRF) na pangangasiwaan ng  regional offices para sa distribusyon. (Daris Jose)
