‘Superman’ leads MTRCB’s family-friendly film lineup this week

THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has approved three films for public exhibition this week, all receiving a PG (Parental Guidance) rating.

PG rating ensures the material is appropriate for viewers under the 13 accompanied by a parent or supervising adult.

Leading the lineup is the latest installment in the iconic superhero franchise, “Superman,” which brings the beloved Man of Steel back to the big screen.

Reviewed by MTRCB Board Members Eloisa Matias, Racquel Maria Cruz and Juan Revilla, the film explores the reconciliation of Superman (David Corenswet) with his alien Kryptonian heritage and adoptive human family.

Inspired by true stories, the locally produced romantic drama “I Remember You,” starring Filipino actors JC Santos and Valeen Montenegro, is set in the scenic island of Boracay where Gani (Santos), and Debby (Montenegro), both ex lovers, cross paths again.

For K-pop fans, “HYBE Cine Fest,” offers a celebration of Korean music and culture, brought to the big screen by entertainment powerhouse HYBE.

The film features exclusive performances from some of today’s biggest K-pop groups, including BTS, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, &TEAM, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, ILLIT and KATSEYE.

MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio reminds the public of the importance of responsible viewing, especially for young audiences.

“Our age-appropriate classifications help parents and supervising adults make informed choices while enjoying quality content together as a family,” said Sotto-Antonio.

The Board remains committed to promoting responsible viewing and content creation while supporting the diversity of global and local films in Philippine cinemas.
