Proseso ng end-of-service benefits inilipat sa DMW

INILIPAT na sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang pagpo-proseso sa end-of-service benefits (ESB) para sa mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sa Gitnang Silangan.

      Sa isang advisory, sinabi ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na ang nasabing gawain ay pormal na inilipat sa DMW noong Pebrero 4, 2024.

“Effective 04 February 2024, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) will handle all new End-of-Service Benefits (ESB) applications, claims, and remittances for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Middle East,” ayon sa DFA.

“For OFWs in the Middle East whose employment has recently ended, or beneficiaries or next-of-kin of a deceased OFW, new applications for ESB claims must now be submitted to the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate or the DMW in Manila,” ayon pa rin sa departamento.

Samantala, ipagpapatuloy naman ng DFA ang pagpo-proseso sa aplikasyon para sa ESB claims o remittances na inihain bago ang Pebrero 4, 2024.

“ESB claims already submitted to the MWO or DMW shall continue to be processed by the MWO or DMW,” ang tinuran ng DFA.

      Pinapayuhan naman ang mga employers ng OFWs sa Gitnang Silangan na idirekta ang anumang bagong ESB remittances para sa kanilang Filipino employees sa mga itinalagang bank o bank account ng MWO sa pinakamalapit na Philippine Foreign Service Post.

Samantala, hinikayat naman ng DFA ang mga OFWs at mga benepisaryo na bisitahin ang MWO sa pinakamalapit na Philippine Foreign Service Post para sa mas marami pang impormasyon at tulong para sa kani-kanilang ESB claims.

      Ang paglilipat ng tungkulin ng ESB sa DMW ay bahagi ng pagsunod ng DFA sa Department of Migrant Workers Act of 2021 (Republic Act No. 11641) at tiyakin ang tuloy-tuloy at episyenteng serbisyo para sa OFWs at kanilang kamag-anak. (Daris Jose)
