 MAGPAPATULOY ang presensiya ng Estados Unidos sa Indo-Pacific Region.

Sa pambungad na Manila Strategy Forum, isang two-day event na hinost ng Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), tampok ang high-level panel discussions ukol sa US–Philippines alliance ay sinabi ng Pangulo na “The place of the United States is here with us in the Indo-Pacific.”

“It will be crucial to the free and open nature of our region that your vigor, inventiveness, and resilience, essential drivers of the great American nation, continue to play a leading role in nurturing a strong and peaceful Indo-Pacific,” aniya pa rin.

Binigyang diin ng Pangulo na may mahalagang papel ang Estados Unidos sa mundo na hindi madaling palitan at ang patuloy na pagkakaugnay nito sa global affairs ay napakikinabangan ng lahat kabilang na ang Estados Unidos mismo.

Sa kabilang dako, pinasalamatan naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang Estdaos Unidos sa suporta nito na paghusayin ang maritime domain awareness ng Pilipinas at palakasin ang maritime security efforts, partikular na habang ang government vessels at mangingisda ay “continue to be harassed in our own waters” and are subjected to “illegal, coercive, aggressive, and dangerous actions in the South China Sea.”

“Today, the most significant threat to the peace and stability we strive for is right here in our own neighborhood, here in the Indo-Pacific region,” ang tinuran ng Pangulo.

“And this is not just an opinion; it is a fact. We in the Philippines can say this with certainty because we face the threat every single day,” dagdag na pahayag ng Punong Ehekutibo.

Nakatakda namang ipagdiwang ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ang 80 taon ng diplomatic relations sa 2026, habang mamarkahan naman ng Estados Unidos ang 250th anniversary ng pagkabansa nito.

“We have achieved so much together throughout history. I am humbled that there is still so much to be accomplished in the future,” ang sinabi ng Pangulo. ( Daris Jose)
