Pinas, Cambodia tinintahan ang kasunduan na magpapahusay sa bilateral ties ng dalawang bansa

NILAGDAAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet ang ilang kasunduan na naglalayong ayusin at paghusayin ang bilateral ties ng dalawang bansa.

Ang mga nilagdaang kasunduan ay ang:

-Kasunduan sa pagitan ng Republika ng Pilipinas at Gobyerno ng Kingdom of Cambodia para sa Elimination of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance

-Memorandum of Understanding hinggil sa Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Government Digital Transformation sa pagitan ng Department of Information and Communications Technology ng Republic of the Philippines at Ministry of Post and Telecommunications ng Kingdom of Cambodia

-Memorandum of Understanding ukol sa Agricultural and Agribusiness Cooperation sa pagitan ng Government of the Republic of the Philippines at Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia

-Memorandum of Understanding hinggil sa Implementation of Competition Law sa pagitan ng Philippine Competition Commission at Competition Commission ng Cambodia

-Memorandum of Understanding sa pagitan ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority ng Republic of the Philippines at Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the Cooperation sa larangan ng Technical Vocational Education and Training

-Implementation Program ng Memorandum of Understanding hinggil sa Tourism Cooperation sa pagitan ng Ministry of Tourism ng Kingdom of Cambodia at Department of Tourism ng Republic of the Philippines 2025-2028

-Memorandum of Agreement hinggil sa Prevention of Looting and Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Properties

-Memorandum of Intent sa pagitan ng Board of Investments at Council for the Development of Cambodia on Investment Promotions

“We are also pleased with the growing partnership between our militaries and uniformed services,” ang sinabi naman ni Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang naging talumpati.

“I anticipate the continued exchange of best practices and knowledge to support our mutual aspiration for regional peace and security and our collaborative efforts in enhancing our resiliency,” dagdag na wika ng Pangulo.

Sinabi pa ng Chief Executive na ang Pilipinas ay “open for business” at wine-welcome nito ang “opportunity to partner and achieve greater commercial successes” kasama ang Cambodia.

Samantala, sinabi naman ni Hun Manet na ang multilateral cooperation nito sa Philippines, Cambodia ay “underlies the importance of upholding Asian unity and centrality, especially at times of conflict and geopolitical dynamics.”

Kinilala rin nito ang kontribusyon ng 7,000 Filipino na kasalukuyang naninirahan at nagta-trabaho sa Cambodia.

“The Filipino community in Cambodia plays an important role in our socioeconomic development. We remain committed to ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for our Pinoy friends,” ang sinabi naman ni Hun Manet sa kanyang naging talumpati.

Samantala, ipinahayag naman ng Cambodian PM ang kanyang suporta sa Pilipinas kung saan nakatakdang i-host ng bansa (Pilipinas) ang Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit meetings sa 2026.

Si Hun Manet ay nasa bansa mula Pebrero 10 hanggang 11 para sa kanyang official visit sa Pilipinas. (Daris Jose)
