PDU30, gustong imbestigahan ng DoH ang “false positives” ng PRC

HINILING ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa Department of Health (DOH) na imbestigahan ang napaulat na reklamo tungkol sa “false positives” ng Covid-19 tests na ginawa ng Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

Sa kanyang Talk to the People, araw ng Lunes ay sinabi ng Pangulo na nakatanggp siya ng ulat na mayroong “false-positive results” sa swab testing processed sa iba’t ibang molecular laboratories ng PRC na pinamumunuan ni Senador Richard Gordon.

“I also would like to ask. Are your testing facilities and equipment are really as good as you say they are? Because I have heard of many false-positive cases from your laboratories. Can you enlighten the Filipino people on this?” ayon sa Pangulo.

Aniya, ipinabatid sa kanya na may 44 mula sa 49 na kabuuang hospital personnel ang nagpositibo sa swab tests na ginawa ng molecular laboratory ng PRC sa Subic subalit nag-false positives matapos na magpa-retest ang mga ito sa ibang pasilidad.

Bukod dito, may 213 personnel ng Presidential Security Group ang na-test positive sa proseso ng PRC Manila subalit nag-negatibo naman sa kanilang confirmatory tests.

Idinagdag pa nito na maging ang mga opisyal ng Department of Finance ay nakaranas ng kahalintulad na insidente mula sa PRC.

“Because of this information then maybe the DOH must investigate this matter. You could be putting more people at risk. You could be falsely adding to the total positive cases per day of this country,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.

Samantala, kinumpirma naman ni DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III na nakatanggap sila ng reklamo sa bagay na ito.

Aniya, sanib-puwersa ang health department at ang Research Institute for Tropical Medicine na nag-iimbestiga ngayon sa insidente sa PRC Subic. (Daris Jose)
