NANGAKO si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na palalakasin ng kanyang administrasyon ang ‘water at sanitation infrastructure’ sa Metro Manila.Inihayag ito ng Pangulo sa inagurasyon ng 60-million-liters-per-day (MLD) Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant, magsisilbing 2,115-hectare catchment area sa mga lugar sa Mandaluyong, San Juan, at Quezon City, mapakikinabangan nang mahigit sa 650,000 residente.”At this scale, wastewater management and sanitation become essential foundations of public health, of environmental protection, and of sustainable development,” ayon sa Pangulo.”By reducing pollution flowing into rivers within its service area, this facility will improve local water quality. It also supports the long-term rehabilitation of Manila Bay by limiting the pollution load that eventually reaches our seas,” aniya pa rin.Winika pa ni Pangulong Marcos, mas maraming proyekto sa water at wastewater facilities ay nasa pipeline. Aniya, na ang five wastewater treatment plants sa buong service areas ay kasalukuyan ngayong nasa ilalim ng konstruksyon.Aniya, ang nga inisyatiba ay sumasalamin sa commitment ng administrasyon na palakasin ang water at sanitation infrastructure sa buong Metro Manila at sa labas nito.”Guided by the Revised Concession Agreement under Republic Act Nos. 11600 and 11601, our goal is this: by 2047, 76% of households in Metro Manila, in Cavite, and Rizal will be connected to sewerage systems, while the remaining 24 percent will be covered by proper sanitation services,” ayon sa Chief Executive.”This means that no community is left without safe and responsible wastewater management,” aniya pa rin.
