PBBM, nananatili ang tiwala kay DPWH Sec. Bonoan- Malakanyang

NANANATILI pa rin ang tiwala at kumpiyansa ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., kay Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan sa gitna ng mga usapin na bumabalot sa halos 10,000 flood control projects na ipinatupad ng ahensiya sa nakalipas na tatlong taon ng administrasyon.
“His trust with Secretary Bonoan remains,” ang sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.
Sa katunayan, kasama ng Pangulo si Bonoan sa pag-inspeksyon ng ilang proyekto sa Marikina City, araw ng Lunes.
Nauna rito, nanawagan si Bacolod Rep. Albee Benitez na mag-leave (of absence) ang Kalihim habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon at audit sa kanyang ahensiya bilang delicadeza.
Ang tugon naman ni Bonoan ay handa niyang pagbigyan ang panawagan ni Benitez sa sandaling simulan na ang audit sa ahensiya na ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa kanyang State of the Nation Address (SONA) at kung ipag-uutos ng Pangulo na mag-leave of absence muna siya.
Giit pa ni Bonoan, hindi naman siya na-offend sa panawagan ni Benitez dahil baka mayroong pinanggagalingan ang suhestiyon ng kongresista kaya titingnan din niya ito, subalit nagsisilbi aniya siya sa kasiyahan ng Presidente.
Tiniyak naman ni Castro na hindi kasama ang DPWH sa imbestigasyon.
“He (Bonaoan) will not be a part of the ongoing investigation. We only need information and records about these projects which will be coming from the DPWH,” aniya pa rin.
Ang Regional Project Monitoring Committees aniya ang mangunguna sa pagrerepaso ng flood control projects, na binubuo ng regional directors ng Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DepDev) bilang chair; regional directors ng Department of Budget and Management bilang co-chair.
Kabilang din sa komite ang mga regional heads Department of the Interior and Local Government, Office of the President-Presidential Management Staff, at mga kinatawan mula sa pribadong sektor at non-government organizations.
Ang report ng komite ay isusumite sa DepDev, na pagsasama-samahin muna bago pa isumite sa Pangulo.
“The review will check if the projects are existing in the first place, if they are operational, or if they are effective in controlling floods,” ang winika ni Castro.
Wala namang timeline na ibinigay ang Pangulo para sa makumpleto ang pagrerebisa dahil ang utos ng Pangulo ay “the sooner the better.”
“The President will not sleep on this. He wants this investigation completed as soon as possible,” aniya pa rin.
“President Marcos committed to eliminate corruption involving the misuse of flood control projects, with the government’s ongoing investigation ensuring that no one will be exempt from accountability,” ayon sa Malakanyang.
“Even if they are close to his heart, even if they are friends, the President will spare no one. Those who must be held accountable will be held accountable,” ang sinabi ni Castro. ( Daris Jose)
