Patuloy na pagpondo para sa 20,000 bagong teaching positions, siniguro

SA ilalim ng liderato at direksyon ni Presidente Bongbong Marcos Jr., siniguro ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa publiko ang patuloy na paglalaan ng pondo ng kamara sa 20,000 new public school teaching positions sa 2026 national budget at mga susunod pang mga taon.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na sisiguruhin ng Kongreso na ang pondo para sa mga bagong teaching positions sa education sector sa pangunguna ni Education Sec. Sonny Angara ay mapupunan sa ilalim ng 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

“All 20,000 new teaching items are about changing lives, not just addressing the shortage of teachers in our classrooms. Each position filled means a teacher in front of students who need guidance, and a Filipino family with a new source of income, dignity and hope,” ani Romualdez.

Kinumpirma ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na ang pondo ay magmumula sa Built-in Appropriations ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa ilalim ng “New School Personnel Positions” program para sa FY 2025.

Sinabi ng Speaker na bukod sa poprotektahan ng Kamara ang pondo sa pagpapatupad nito ay sisiguruhin ng Kongreso ang patuloy na paglalaan ng badget para dito sa 2026 budget at sa mga susunod pang taon.

Nagpaabot naman ito ng pasasalamat kay Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang commitment para palakasin ang education system at pagkilala sa reporma sa sektor ng edukasyon.

Gayundin, pinapurihan din nito si Angara sa kanyang hands-on approach at malalim na pang-unawa sa systemic challenges sa education sector.

“Secretary Angara brought not only data but vision, backed by years of legislative work on education. Under his leadership, we know these funds will be translated into real results on the ground,” ani Romualdez. (Vina de Guzman)
