PAGHALILI SA SANTO PAPA, PREMATURE

PREMATURE pa ang mga lumalabas na espekulasyon ukol sa pagpili ng magiging bagong Santo Papa ng Romano Katoliko, ayon sa isang opisyal ng Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

Ito ang sinabi ni Fr. Jerome Secillano, CBCP Public Affairs Commission executive secretary, makaraan ang usap-usapan ng posibleng pagbibitiw ni Pope Francis dahil sa isyu sa kalusugan.

“Pope Francis continues to be at the helm of the papacy and shows no indication of cutting short his tenure,” saad ni Secillano.

“All this talk about his possible resignation is basically just a media narrative meant to politicize an otherwise sacred election called the conclave,” dagdag niya.

Ito ay sa kabila ng ilang nalathala na artikulo sa London na sinasabing isa sa dalawang pinagpipilian na maaaring humalili kay Pope Francis ay si dating Manila Archibishop Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle.

Sa halip na palakihin umano ang usapin, nakiusap si Secillano sa mga Katolikong Pilipino na ipagpatuloy na lamang ang pagdarasal para kay Pope Francis at sa kanyang kalusugan.

“Let’s just pray for Pope Francis and all his collaborators that they may stir the Catholic Church in the right direction as the church continues to face scrutiny and challenges at the moment,” dagdag niya. (Gene Adsuara)
