Ngayong magtatapos na ang termino bilang konsehal: JOMARI, excited na sa gustong ma-achieve sa Philippine motorsport

BUKOD sa pag-aartista at pangangarera ng kotse ay pinasok din ni Jomari Yllana ang mundo ng pulitika; ilang beses siyang nagsilbi bilang konsehal sa unang distrito ng Parañaque.Nitong nakaraang eleksyon ay hindi siya tumakbo, bagkus ay ang karelasyon niyang si Abby Viduya ang sumubok nguni’t hindi pinalad na maging konsehala sa Parañaque.
Magtatapos naman ang termino ni Jomari ngayong Hunyo bilang konsehal.
Tinanong namin si Jomari, kung papipiliin siya sa motorsport at politics, ano ang pipiliin niya?
“I pick motorsport,” bulalas niya.
“You know why? Because my end term will be in June,” at tumawa ang aktor/politician.
“Tapos na po yung term ko. But…pero ano to ah, it’s totally different, so public service and motorsport, totally different, I don’t know.
“So ako, I’ve been in the sport for quite some time, being a public servant, nine years, I’ll be ending my term in public service.
“Pero looking forward, excited ako dun sa na-achieve ko as a city councilor and I’m very, very excited sa gusto kong ma-achieve with Philippine motorsport.
“So sa akin, it gives me balance, kapag nawala yung isa, hindi ako balansyado, but with events also in production, it’s the same, hinahanap siya ng system ko.
“It’s been a while, I started with production also, I still remember ‘Palibhasa Lalake’ during that time, I think I was 17 or 18.
“So we were there to support a production, the biggest concert in history and it’s actually situated in this part of the lot, the property where we are right now, it was the Michael Jackson concert, wala pa ‘tong building na ‘to,” pagtukoy ni Jomari sa Okada Manila Resort and Casino.
Dagdag pa niya, “So I find peace and balance with production, legislation, and entertainment, so iyan yung bumubuo ng pagkatao ko.”
Samantala, sa May 31 ay launch ng Jom’s Cup ng Okada Motorsport Carnivale, ang 1/8-mile drag racing event ni Jomari at ng Yllana Racing team na magaganap sa Okada Manila’s Boardwalk and Gardens sa Paranaque City.
May mga kategorya itong vintage car, muscle car, at super car.
Katuwang ni Jomari sa naturang event ang FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) international race official na si Rikki Dy-Liacco.
