Mayorya ng mga Pinoy naniniwalang importanteng pondohan ang family planning

HALOS siyam sa 10 Filipino adults ang naniniwala na importanteng paglaanan ng gobyerno ng sapag na pondo ang modern methods ng family planning.

 

 

Batay sa lumabas na March 2022 Pulse Asia Survey, 88% ng respondents ang naniniwala na dapat maglaan ang pamahalaan ng pondo para sa modernong pamamaraan ng family planning, tulad ng pills, IUD, ligation, condom, at vasectomy.

 

 

Mayorya ng respondents ay mula sa iba’t ibang lugar at socio-economic classes, partikular na sa Metro Manila (60%), Visayas (55%), Mindanao (63%), at socioeconomic classes (53% – 61%) ang kumukunsidera sa paglalaan ng pondo para sa family planning ay “very important.”

 

 

Ang sentimyento na ito ng publiko ay halos hindi nagbago simula February 2016 at March 2022, base sa iba’t ibang survey sa national level at subgroupings.

 

 

Sa pinakahuling survey, halos 97%-99% ng respondents mula Cordillera Administrative Region, Eastern Visayas (Region 8), Davao Region (Region 11), at Caraga Region (Region 13), at miyembro ng Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) at Warays ay naniniwalang importante ang public funding para sa family planning.

 

 

“The results of this survey confirm our call on the government for adequate funding for modern family planning should be among the top priorities when it comes to crafting the national budget. We need to ensure that the government is able to support the choices of Filipino women and couples, particularly during the pandemic, when many are choosing to delay childbearing because of uncertainties in our current situation,” pahayag ni Romeo Dongeto, executive director ng Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD).  (ARA ROMERO)
