Mag-iimbestiga sa mga maling paggamit ng pondo at iregularidad sa mga flood control project, buo na…   ICI TEAM magsasagawa ng malalim at walang kinikilingang imbestigasyon sa mga katiwalian

BUO na ang komposisyon ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) na itinatag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa pamamagitan ng Executive Order No. 94. para magsasagawa ng malalim at walang kinikilingang imbestigasyon sa mga ulat ng katiwalian, maling paggamit ng pondo at iregularidad sa mga flood control at iba pang proyektong pang-imprastraktura ng pamahalaan sa nakalipas na sampung taon.

Sa press conference ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa Kalayaan Hall, Palasyo ng Malakanyang, kahapon araw ng Lunes, Setyembre 15, pinangalanan nito si dating SC Justice Andres Reyes Jr. bilang ICI chairperson.

Si Reyes ay dating presiding judge ng Court of Appeals. Mayroon itong good record ng katapatan at pagiging patas, may magandang rekord sa paghahanap ng hustisya para sa mga nabiktima.

Makakasama naman ni Reyes sina dating of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Rogelio Babe Singson at Rosana A. Fajardo, isang certified public accountant (CPA).

“Of course, Babes Singson of who I think is familiar to everyone as a former DPWH secretary but beyond that, he has always been working in terms of the infrastructure. And, as the former DPWH secretary, he has a good idea of… shall we say where the bodies are buried. So, that will give us immediately an advantage when we are doing this—not we, when the commission is doing its investigation,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

“And, of course, the last member is Rossana Fajardo who is the Country Managing Partner of SGV and Co. She is a Certified Public Accountant and she has, again with her experience, and they are hoping to take advantage also with some of the experts that they have in SGV in terms of accounting, forensic accounting, all of these things that will be necessary,” aniya pa rin.

Binanggit din ng Pangulo si Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong bilang Special Adviser to the Independent Commission.

“We have included Mayor Benjie Magalong as a Special Adviser as well. There have been questions as to why Mayor Benjie has been included and the answer is very simple – when I went to Baguio at tiningnan ko iyong mga malabo na flood control project ay sinalubong niya kaagad ako ng isang report. Imbestigador naman talaga si Mayor Benjie,” ang kuwento ng Pangulo.

“Kung maalala ninyo, he was the one who wrote, as CIDG head, he was the one who wrote the seminal report on the Mamasapano incident and that was… immediately, that gave me… put him—that’s when I came to know of him and saw that he has integrity. And then, again when I went to Baguio, mayroon na siyang—being a good investigator, he had a very, very detailed, very good report already. So, he’s been working on this for a while so marami siyang mako-contribute,” aniya pa rin.  (Daris Jose)
