Kasong cyber libel laban kay Cavite Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga, inihain ni Manila 2nd District Rep. Rolando Valeriano

NAGHAIN din si Manila 2nd District Rep. Rolando Valeriano, miyembro ng National Unity Party (NUP), ng kasong cyberlibel laban kay Cavite Rep. Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga.
Kaugnay ito sa viral social media post na nag-aakusa sa mga mambabatas ng NUP na tumanggap ng suhol kapalit ng political support.

Sa kanyang post, sinabi ni Barzaga na tumanggap umano ang mga NUP congressmen ng suhol mula sa businessman na si Enrique Razon sa iba’t ibang gatherings sa Solaire bago ang 2025 elections, kapalit ang pagbibigay suporta sa re-election ni Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Valeriano na ang statement ay isang seryosong usapin na ginawa ng walang ebidensiya sa pamamagitan ng social media platform.

Sinabi ni Valeriano na ang statement ng mambabatas ay nakasira sa reputasyon ng mga kongresista at public suspicion.

Malisyoso din aniya ang post at pagsasantabi sa katotohanan.

“Baseless accusations of bribery are not harmless political commentary. They are accusations of criminal conduct, broadcast to the public as if they were established fact. If you claim that legislators were bribed, then you have the duty to prove it. Otherwise, it is a malicious attack designed to destroy our reputations,” ani Valeriano.

Naniniwala pa ito na ang pagpo-post ay para siraan ang buong NUP.

“These accusations are especially harmful at a time when we are still rebuilding public trust. When lies are repeated as fact, they do not just malign individuals, they weaken institutions,” pagtatapos nito.
