Kamara, magsusumite ng karagdagang info sa SC para sa VP Sara impeach petitions

SUSUNOD ang Kamara sa direktiba ng Supreme Court (SC) na nag aatas dito na magsumite ng karagdagang sworn information kaugnay sa impeachment ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Kinumpirma ni House spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante na natanggap ng Kamara ang kopya ng July 8 resolution na G.R. Nos. 278353 at 278359, na sumasakop sa petisyong inihain ni Duterte at kanyang abogado na si Atty. Israelito Torreon, na kumukuwestiyin sa constitutionality at proseso ng nagaganap na impeachment proceedings sa senado.

o, as respondents in the said petitions, have been required to submit the additional information enumerated in the resolution, and will comply accordingly,” ani Abante.

Idinagdag nito na naiparating na ang usapin sa Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), na siyang nagrerepresenta sa Kamara para sa kaso.

“We have already referred the resolution to the Office of the Solicitor General, as our counsel, and shall coordinate closely with the OSG to ensure the submission of the required information within the non-extendible period of 10 days provided by in the Supreme Court,” pahayag pa nito.

Sa resolution, inatasan ng SC ang  House of Representatives at Senate na magsumite, under oath na may kaakibat na dokumento, kung available, ng detailed information sa ginawang filing at processing ng impeachment complaints laban kay Duterte.

Binigyan diin ng mataas na hukuman na ang kanilang direktiba ay ipinalabas ng “without prejudice to the resolution of other issues” na nakasaad sa petitions.

Inimpeach ng Kamara si Vice President Duterte boing Pebrero, dahil sa ibat ibang citing grounds, kabilang na ang umanoy maling paggamit ng P125 milyong confidential funds na ginastos sa loob lamang ng 11 araw noong December 2022.

Pitong Articles of Impeachment, kabilang na ang kaso betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, grave abuse of discretion, obstruction of legislative oversight, at repeated misuse of public funds.
