Impossible dream, paglalarawan ng Bayan Muna sa ginawang pagdismis ng Justice Committee sa impeachment complaints laban kay PBBM

“IMPOSSIBLE DREAM” ganito inilarawan ng Bayan Muna ang ginawang pagdismis ng Justice Committee sa impeachment complaints laban kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.

Ayon kay Bayan Muna Chairperson Neri Colmenares, at dating impeachment prosecutor sa Corona impeachment trial, dismayado siya dahil ang argumento na ginamit ay siya ring ginawa sa pagbasura sa impeachment complaints laban kay dating Pres. Goria Arroyo.

Sinabi nito na nagulat sila na ibinasura ng mga miyembro ng komite ang impeachment complaint dahil sa usapin ng sufficiency in substance bunsod sa pagiging alegasyon lamang nito at hindi makatotohanan.

“Kung ang nilagay ni piskal sa kanyang complaint sa korte na binaril ng akusado ang biktima, hindi pwedeng i-dismiss ng judge ito dahil, siyempre, at that stage allegation pa lang ito. Dun sa trial patunayan ni piskal, batay sa ebidensya, kung totoo ngang pinatay ng akusado ang biktima. Otherwise, all complaints and cases all over the country will be dismissed during the procedural phase” paliwanag ni Colmenares na bahagi ng 11-member prosecution team sa Corona impeachment at sa hindi natuloy na Merceditas Gutierez impeachment complaint.

“The proceedings in the Justice Committee are divided into three parts: Procedural (Sufficiency in Form, Substance and Grounds for Impeachment), The Hearing (where evidence is presented) and the Report. We are just in the procedural stage which merely requires whether the complaint recited facts, which if proven true during the hearings, indeed constitutes an impeachable offense like Betrayal of Public Trust,” saad nito.

Hiniling naman ni Colmenares sa miyembro ng Kamara na baguhin ang kanilang pagkakaintindi sa usapin ng sufficiency in substance dahil mauuwi lamang ang impeachment bilang impossible dream.
