ICI, walang kakayahan na ipagpatuloy ang operasyon matapos ang pagbibitiw sa tungkulin ng dalawang commissioners

SINABI ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) na hindi nitong magawang ipagpatuloy ang opisyal na operasyon kasunod ng pagbibitiw ng dalawang Commissioner.
Nagbitiw na kasi sa puwesto bilang mga ICI members sina dating Department Of Public Works And Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio Singson at Rosanna Fajardo at ang naiwan na lamang sa komisyon ay si ICI chairperson Justice Andres Reyes.
Sinabi ng ICI na itinakda ng Executive Order No. 94 na ang komisyon ay binubuo ng chairperson at dalawang miyembro.
“As a collegial body, the ICI may take official action only with the approval of a majority of its members,” ang sinabi ng ICI.
“Consequently, following the resignation of its two commissioners, the Commission is unable to resume its official operations until a quorum is restored,” dagdag na pahayag ng ICI.
Mismong si ICI chairman Andres Reyes Jr. ang nag-anunsiyo ng pagbibitiw ni Singson mula sa ICI dahil sa kanyang edad at ang stressful na trabaho sa ICI habang si Fajardo naman ay sa dahilang tapos na ang kanyang tungkulin.
“We haven’t really decided on that yet. Again, it all depends on the work that ICI still has in front of them. Pag kailangan pa, then we will. But if the work is done, kung naibigay na lahat ng information sa DOJ tsaka sa Ombudsman, then the focus now of the investigation will go to the DOJ and the Ombudsman,” ang pahayag naman ni Pangulong Marcos
Nauna nang sinabi ni ICI special adviser Rodolfo Azurin Jr. na hindi magawa ng ICI ng anumang referrals dahil sa kakulangan ng mga komisyonado.
“In the meantime, the Commission continues to process, organize, document, and safeguard all records and evidence in its custody,” ayon sa ICI.
Sinabi ng ICI, nakapaghain na ito ng walong referrals sa Office of the Ombudsman, hindi kasama ang joint referrals sa Department of Public Works and Highways, laban sa 100 indibiduwal. ( DARIS JOSE)
