Galvez, suportado ang 2nd booster shot para sa ibang sektor

UMAPELA si National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. sa Health Technology Assessment Council (HTAC) na bilisan ang pag-apruba sa second booster shots na ibibigay sa mas maraming vulnerable sectors at isama ang iba pang priority sectors sa kanilang rekomendasyon.

Sa Talk to the People ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, araw ng Miyerkules, tinukoy ni Galvez ang pangangailangan na bilisan o i- fast-track ang pagtuturok ng booster shots sa iba pang vulnerable sectors gaya ng healthcare workers, senior citizens, at persons with comorbidities sa gitna ng banta ng humihinang immunity vaccines at posibleng surge ng mga kaso.

“Because of the current urgency of the situation, we are appealing to the HTAC to expedite the inclusion of health care workers, seniors and other vulnerable sectors para po mapataas significantly ang ating bakunahan ,” ayon kay Galvez.

Sinabi pa ni Galvez na dapat ikunsidera ng HTAC at Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ng bansa ang pagbibigay ng second booster doses sa mga overseas Filipino workers, seafarers, at uniformed personnel.

“HTAC/FDA should also look and include the seafarers, OFWs and uniformed personnel to be included in the priority due to their long duration deployment to [high-risk] and vulnerable areas,” ani Galvez.

Sa ngayon, mayroon ng 2,108 fully vaccinated immunocompromised individuals ang nakatanggap ng second booster shots simula ng official rollout nito, araw ng Lunes. (Daris Jose)
