Gabriela party-list Rep. Sarah Jane Elago, mainit na tinanggap ng minority bloc bilang ika-28 miyembro

MAINIT na tinanggap ng minority bloc si Gabriela party-list Rep. Sarah Jane Elago bilang ika-28 miyembro nito.

“We warmly welcome Congresswoman Elago into the minority bloc, where she can surely help us perform our indispensable functions to promote legislative integrity, uphold accountability, and give voice to alternative viewpoints. A vibrant democracy thrives when the majority’s decisions are tempered by the steady vigilance of an independent minority,” ani House Minority Leader Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan.

Nagbigay ng courtesy call si Elago kay Libanan nitong September 23 matapos na magbigay ng pormal na liham para sa intensiyon na pagsali sa minority bloc.

“With only 28 members, every addition to the minority counts. Congresswoman Elago’s experience and dedication will help ensure that we are present and effective in the many committees where important policies are shaped,” pahayag ni Libanan.

Nagtapos sa University of the Philippines Diliman, si Elago, 35, ay nagsilbi dati bilang Kabataan party-list representative mula 2016 hanggang 2022.

Noong nakalipas na linggo, iprinoklama ng Commission on Elections si Elago bilang ika-64 nananalong party-list representative sa nakalipas May 2025 mid-term elections.
