Financial compensation sa mga batang biktima ng bayolenteng krimen, suportado ni Leyte Rep. Romualdez  

NAGPAHAYAG ng suporta si reelected Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa inisyatibo ng gobyerno na maglaan ng financial compensation sa mga batang biktima ng bayolenteng krimen upang makatulong na manumbalik at maitayo ang kanilang buhay.

Una ng inihayag ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Department of Justice (DOJ) ang isang kasunduan para sa pagkakaroon ng referral system na tutulong sa mga batang biktima ng krimen na magkaroon ng access sa monetary remuneration para sa kanilang pangunahing pangangailangan at iba pang recovery-related expenses.

“Our young ones deserve to be cared for, nurtured, and protected. When they become victims of cruel, violent crimes, it becomes the government’s duty to ensure that they are properly supported on the way to healing and recovery,” ani Romualdez.

Sa pamamagitan aniya na gawing madali para agad ma-ang access financial compensation na makakatulong sa gastusin para sa treatment, therapy, legal support, at edukayon ay mabibigyan ang mga ito ng tiyansa para sa panibagong pamumuhay.

“Ang mga batang biktima ng mga marahas na krimen ay aming kinakatawan sa Kongreso. Nararapat lamang na mabigyan sila ng sapat na suporta para sa kanilang pagbangon at paghilom,” giit nito.

Sa ilalim ng memorandum of agreement na ilagdaan nitong Martes, magagawa ng DSWD na makatulong at mag-refer child-victims sa residential care facilities (RCFs) nito sa DOJ’s Victim Compensation Program (VCP).

Layon ng VCP na makapaglaan ng monetary compensation sa biktima ng violent crimes.

Sakop ng kasunduan ang mga batang biktima ng rape, torture, enforced and involuntary disappearance, trafficking in persons at online sexual abuse and exploitation, at iba pa.

“By helping them jumpstart their recovery and reintegration into society, we are not only fulfilling our duty as public servants — we are also giving these children the chance to dream again and reach for a better future,” pagtatapos ni Romualdez.  (Vina de Guzman)
