Disney’s Casting Call for a Filipino ‘Lola’ Could Be for ‘Spider-Man 3’

DISNEY is currently looking for a Filipino grandmother to play a role in an upcoming film.

The casting call posted at ProjectCasting.com and will expires on January 31:

“Katie Doyle Casting, Hawaii is assisting Sarah Finn Casting (Avengers: Endgame, The Mandalorian, Guardians of the Galaxy) in looking for an actress to play a role in an upcoming Walt Disney Studios film.

“No professional acting experience is required, but the applicant must speak English fluently and be comfortable traveling on a plane to Atlanta. They also should be currently authorized to work in the United States (either a US citizen, a green card holder, or an O-1 visa holder.)

“This role is shooting for a few days in mid February 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia.

“We will be reviewing videos the first week of January and will email anyone we’d like to invite to audition!

“We are committed to diverse, inclusive and authentic casting. We highly encourage performers who are Filipino or of Filipino descent to apply. For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to disability, race, age, color, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity, or any other basis prohibited by law, unless otherwise specifically indicated.”

While the specific film has not yet been revealed, casting call details cause speculations that it is for Spider-Man 3, which is currently filming and casting in Atlanta.

And If Disney’s casting call is indeed for said Marvel’s film, it is no surprise if they’re casting the lola of Ned. Peter Parker’s friend is played by Filipino-American actor Jacob Batalon.
