Crop insurance bill na panawagan ni PBBM suportado ni Speaker Romualdez 

KAISA si re-elected Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa panawagan ni Presidente Bongbong Marcos na mas malawak na crop insurance coverage, na nagsaad na iisa ang kanilang layunin, ang protektahan ang magsasakang pinoy at masiguro ang food security ng bansa.

“We are one with the President in putting farmers front and center in our development agenda. His call to expand crop insurance is not just timely—it is necessary. It’s about giving our farmers peace of mind when they plant, and hope when disaster strikes,” ani Romualdez.

Bilang suporta, inihain nito ang House Bill No. 14, na naglalayong mapalakas ang mapalawig ang serbisyo ng Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) at mabuksan ang pinto sa mas malaking partisipasyon ng private sector sa agricultural insurance.

“This bill is my personal commitment to every farmer who risks everything each planting season. With better insurance, we’re not just protecting crops—we’re protecting lives, dreams, and the future of our food supply,” anang mambabatas.

Sa ilalim ng HB 14, kasama na awtor sina Tingog Party-list Reps. Jude Acidre at Andrew Julian Romualdez, ang PCIC coverage ay palalawigin pa sa bigas at mais kung saan isasama ang high-value commodities, livestock, aquaculture, farm machinery at maging ang post-harvest infrastructure.
